Theicecube12 same, new Phyrexia was my first set of mtg. The first product I ever bought was a life for death intro pack and I pulled a normal elesh norn in the pack inside the intro pack.

It's kind of funny that white didn't try to protect and save the people of Mirrodin, but red did. I always hate how white is good and black is bad in mtg it's such a lame design when they make it that way.

+Bladeofwar94 they've endeavored to change that a few times. Black mana is represented as ambition and individuality many times. Kamigawa had a White bigbad, and Liliana was literally called The Last Hope in one iteration.

The first set that featured Phyrexia actually being visited was Urza's Saga. In the set Urza also visited Sara's realm, a Plane of White Mana filled with Angels.

OG Mirrodin still is my favourite block and I should hate the Phyrexians for what they have done to Karns perfect creation, but at the same time you just have to adore the Obliterators and Praetors and their masochistic way of generating mana. I like it. Also I would like to beat the living crap out of them when we return to the plane!!!

I'm almost certain he could. He wasn't even a being with a real tangible form at the time he was killed and it took so much to kill him. Not to mention all of waht he had at his disposal to the point of making planes for himself to engulf others.

Of course Yawgmoth could destroy Norn. At the time, before the Mending, Planeswalkers were immortal gods, yet Yawgmoth was considered more than a god even to them. Even Urza fell to a single touch of Yawgmoth's essence, and Nicol Bolas was scared of Urza at the time. It really shows Yawgmoth's true power level. Nicol Bolas would have been completely powerless before him, and even Emrakul would probably be nothing more than a nuisance to Yawgmoth.

I wouldn't call the Eldrazi or them villains but to answer your question yes.... SHE is stuck where she is so is a threat to nobody outside the plane she is on...... the Phyrexians as a whole though are the greatest threat in the multiverse. Every threat in the multiverse we have been given is a joke compared to them.

kingknotts Yes, they were conquering the Multiverse with relative ease until they came to Dominaria and Urza found them. The Phyrexians are one of the things MTG does that is completely original and own to them (as far as I know atleast).

Not COMPLETELY original they did borrow a bit on established tropes, but they had their own twist to them and. in terms of execution they are quite different. Even Urza was in no position to stop them and is one of the strongest we have been given the name of. It took over a dozen of the strongest including one of the only 2 outright stronger than Urza.... Taysir, and the Legacy Weapon to finally stop the spread..... and it couldn't even purge them out of existence. Talk about a destructive force. The good ol'e days of MtG when gods had to join together to put a bandaid on the fuckups other gods made in the first place.... The Mending which required PWs dying to end in order to save the multiverse from the destruction they were responsible for, including the strongest PW in all of MtG history Karona....the one everyone forgets when talking about the strongest PWs, due to Jeska's spark she was a PW and her power trumped Urza by a mile at her peak literally having the entire manabase of the most mana rich plane at her fingertips leading other PWs to even consider her a god among them due to the level that she could warp reality with but a single thought and even she couldn't completely fix their fuckups...once she was gone though the age of multiversal threats showing up basically died with her.... the only actual threat they did since was basically "hey guys we have the Phyrexians still" but due to lacking unity they ended up with a poor show compared to the force that they are on Phyrexia or were in the past.

kingknotts​ Well, Freyalise's Mana Bomb did destroy Phyrexia and Yawgmoth as the Phyrexians were stepping from the portals, which was also quite unique at the time. Phyrexia borrows the alien invaders, and Hellraiseresque aesthetic from established tropes, but it combines them and innovates on them so well that it is really its own thing. I mentioned Urza because he was the one most adamant on destroying the Phyrexian threat, since they had corrupted his brother Mishra and their technology brutally escalated the Brothers War.

kingknotts i'll think you'll find that nicol bolas is the biggest threat to the multiverse, not the phyrexians and the eldrazi are stronger than the phyrexians
