7:40 It's worth noting that the flip is a *may* ability, which means that you can have the land portion in play and then also play another Search for Azcanta and just keep it unflipped, giving you the benefit of *both* sides of the card.

Ahhhh, Search for Azcanta. Back in Ixalan Standard, it was the most sought after card at Rare and just imagine my delight when one pack I bought on a whim had it as the rare AND as a foil to boot!

Ahhh Blue Lands. AKA Tolarian Academy the list. BTW, since it has 122 points in Vintage, you have no excuse not to do "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!

Sanctuary is so good because it’s fetch-able. It should see more points in non rotating formats in the future.

No idea if you've done this, but top 10 cycles would be really interesting I think. It would probably be determined by the cycles with the highest number of average points per card in the cycle.

Also, highly doubt that Castle Vantress can't catch Tolarian Academy. While Academy is certainly the more powerful land, Vantress is available in more places. It is seeing play in Modern and Pioneer, which gives it a boost over Academy.

Wow, after watching the video I whiffed this call big time. I guess I underestimated the importance of standard viability. Still, sanctuary is everywhere in modern and I assume will make it on here eventually.

@@rattlesnek3847 Yeah, I was surprised that Sanctuary didn't rate at all, since it's also played in blue legacy decks like delver. We'll probably see it here in a year or two.

@@chuckwagon3718 It's not played in Legacy Delver because lands that come into play tapped are no good in a tempo deck. Some of the Yorion decks are playing Sanctuary but it's not as important in Legacy because decks don't play Cryptic Command and they have 8 Cantrips to ensure card velocity, so it's not as important of an effect.

Having been in standard for only seven months so far and already having half the points it took Tolarian Academy twenty years to get, I think Castle Vantress will surpass it very easily unless it suddenly stops seeing play.

Entry 4 the land side could also kinda help with miracles in two ways. Dig for another deck stacker. Or if you see the miracle on top, you don’t choose to put a card into your hand and leave the order as is.

I am wondering where mystic sanctuary stands. I know it seeing play in pioneer, modern and standard at a lesser rate then the castle, but I am curious if it getting close to being on this list.

Yeah, Tolarian Academy is definitely one of if not the most broken land(s) ever created. Imagine if this wasn't restricted and you combined it with Mirror Gallery? Infinity Mana x4 lol

Most know how busted Tolarian Academy is, but for those who don't, this should be a sign. The Academy is only legal in Vintage, where its restricted. And yet despite that, it has a firm hold on the number 1 slot. Just let that sink in.

See I thought academy would not be first because it was banned in standard, block, extended, and legacy. I also severely underestimated how much 20 years of vintage play would bump that score up.

Azcanta could have had the first part as normal, then used Threshold, since that's what the keyword requires. Although, I get the feeling it would have been too good and broken the symmetry with the others in the cycle.

@@NizzahonMagic There just haven't been any modern PT:s after it was printed, and there are arena tournaments all the time which is why castle vantress could easily take the number one spot, because it still has 1,5 years left in standard
