Former Demo pilot in the MU-2 series for MAI., Mitsubishi Aircraft International. One of the finest, safest and best performing corporate turbo props I flew in my career and there were a few. The MU-2 acquired a bad rap because of pilot inexperience and lack of training except for the professional pilots.
Thank you for your comments, I have about 3500 hours in this airplane, basically it's the only MU2 I've flown, but have flown most of the other turboprops, and many jets. As turboprops go I like the MU2 best also..
I didn't know that turbo Props did "run ups" prior to take off. High decibels for the passengers in back? Thanks. Cool. I've always loved this airplane.
Not a runup in normal sense, we are checking NTS system. Then just prior to takeoff move the condition levers from idle 78 percent to 100 percent Not noisy in back
Not really, just a different mindset and engine out compared to conventional twins, more like jet single engine but with 1/4 the power, not difficult single engine at all. With correct Power and energy management it's a pleasure to fly. I'd rather fly it than a King Air, handles turbulence much better due to high wing loading at cruise configuration
