MU-2 pilots are a different breed of aviators. Despite the fact that the MU-2 is a turboprop, it is a high performance aircraft and takes a real aviator to understand its flying characteristics and limitations. After understanding this, the a/c is a flying marvel and a pleasure to fly. Hats off to all MU-2 pilots.
great vids ---used to fly " Misslebitches" for Lowes-- SN 161 192 and 232 next to last F made. Fun times. Toughest light turbo-p made. Flew those things all over east coast lots of stories LOl ! This was back in 76' through about 80' then into B-200-42 machines.
I've always loved the MU-2 because it's fast and unforgiving and you have to be a 100 Miles ahead because there is a airspeed limit of 250knots below 10,000 feet which will impact average speed for shorter flights greater than longer flights
I love your videos and I also love the MU-2. Last year I wrote a book about it. It would be awesome to see other camera angles for example the cockpit operation.
@@bluefishbeagle1 ROFLOL you got that right-- had one head r-na v we used to think was space shuttle stuff. That a corporate or private MU2. Used to go to FS in Houston every yr. 10-15 usually in class and took a hour for all to tell BS stories what all we did in following yr !
@@twoturnin1 ha ha During refresh I'd say to my instructor "let me ask you a question" he'd stop me mid sentence and say "Ok Ed what did you do now" ha ha
Bernard, thanks for your interest and enthusiasm in my channel, I fly this aircraft for a company it is not my own, thus I fly by their rules which generally prohibit passengers who are not on company business. Perhaps you could find some local pilots who could take you along.. best of luck and happy flying
Autopilot limitation requires minimum speed of 125KIAS, so using autopilot or hand flying I stay above that usually about 130KIAS over the fence varies depending on wind but usually no wind its about 118 KIAS with touchdown between 90-100KIAS.
@@bluefishbeagle1 - Thanks for your reply. I'm surprised it's that fast since I have read the stall speed for the MU-2B-40 is 73 kts and the MU-2B-60 is 76 kts. A 1.3 Vso would put that around 100 kts for an over the fence speed and just above stall at touchdown.. Oh well, I'm just a private pilot with about 200 hrs in Skyhawks and Archers. RU-vid videos are about as close as I will get to an MU-2. Unless I win the lottery.
@@bluefishbeagle1 Garrett 151's kept us alive though the years into all the crazy KY and TENN airports we went into all kinds of WX. sn 161 was at that time highest time F in world
