Not enough green cards to pitch to it, especially after losing OUaT. None of the legal green dredgers go as deep as the Thug and Stinkweed so you'd be trading efficiency to potentially run Force of Vigor in the side.

Also going down two cards will probably still lose you the game (since you have to draw up to 8 to start dredging again, and Force of Vigor eats two hand cards which means you just time walk yourself twice)

@@Demosthenes6666 that's still better than being hard locked by rest in peace. I'd rather skip 2 turns than basically skip all my turns. The other problem that darkly mentioned is still an issue though.

@@darkly7749 I think that with some deck tweaking it could be good, if you streamline the deck there is easily enough room to make the force of vigor playable while allowing for more consistent hands is nice. Add 4 shambling Shells, some noxious revivals and maybe some other worse green dredge card and you should be okay, or at least better off. The thing is, as much as fov is not ideal it allows you to not just lose to graveyard hate. Also your opponents can't mulligan as aggressively for their graveyard hate if you have an answer. It is not ideal, but I think it would lead to an increase in win percent.

Yeah, that's the main issue with Force of Vigor, we only have eight green cards (and now four green cards since OUTA is banned).

Seems unlikely to work very often, but if it does it would be sweet! If only there was another card similar to Serum Powder. With eight of them it might work.

There's plenty of art that is meh, but the Semen Visions is the main one that I really dislike.

Short answer: it doesn't. Slightly longer answer: Neobrand is a ridiculously all-in combo deck, and while it will usually win after putting a Griselbrand on the battlefield - by using Nourishing Shoals to gain a lot of life, to draw more cards, to SSG/Manamorphose out a Lab Maniac and win - it's dead to the Pact on Turn 2 if it doesn't find what it needs in the top 14 cards.

Yeah, "they don't" is the right answer. Their goal is to win the game the turn they combo. If they fizzle they lose to Pact.

The only issue is that Creeping Chill exiles, so we can only use each copy once anyway. If the Eldrazi could shuffle it back it in might be worth considering, at least as a sideboard plan.

I actually don't like that line (although I did mess up that game by not casting OUTA before Urza's Bauble). The problem is twofold: one is that we need two free creatures to get back Vengevines in the future, so waiting on Hollow One offers a lot of value (once we cast it, since we will likely be dredging every turn, we basically eliminate the possibility of Vengevines for the rest of the game, since we'll never have to creatures to cast). The second issue is that with only one dredger in hand (and only five in the deck) if we lead on Phantasmagorian and discard Stinkweed (and two other cards) and whiff on dredging into another dredge card we're stuck doing nothing for at least two turns while we try to build up our hand size big enough to discard Stinkweed again. If we had two dredge creatures in hand or multiple Hollow Ones I'd like that line, but with one dredger and one Hollow One playing it that way takes on a ton of risk for very little reward (a single 4/4).

@@MTGGoldfish I agree with all of that. What changes things was the second Phantasmagorian. Even if you don't use the first to play out the Hollow One, returning the first by discarding the second gives you an effective second dredger.

Force of Vigor seems good, but we don't have many green cards which makes it hard to cast (and even less now that we'll have to play more dredgers over Once Upon a Time).

From looking at the list in the linked article, I would just make everything a 4 of, so +2 Thug, +1 Titan, +1 Sword

Yea that was a big mistake

With only on dredge card in hand if we don't dredge into another one we basically have to skip our next two turns trying to get enough cards to discard Stinkweed to hand size again.

I would sugest more dredgers. 2 more thugs and the b/g dredger.

x2 Golgari Thug and either a bad dredge card or one more Sword of the Meek and Salvage Titan.

The idea is it comes back into play for free when we dredge Narcomoebia and then we can sacrifice it to cast Salvage Titan for free.

Force of Despair seems sweet. I'll have to give that a try over some of the other removal.

Yeah, I agree that more dredge cards would be helpful. Adding two more Thugs is easy. After that I'm not sure, since the next-best dredger is probably Life from the Loam which only dredges for three and isn't very exciting if we can't cast it.

I've played the Legacy version, but I've never seen Modern Manaless Dredge before.

They are slowly filtering in through the various series :)

Mostly because no one has played against the deck. If it ever became a real deck people would figure out how to play against it and make the deck worse.

The way we beat man graveyard hate is by scooping ;)
