When you think of all of the thousands of years of wars and turmoil, building and rebuilding that has gone on in your area, it's no wonder the earth holds so many layers of treasures. Through all of the heart aches those times produced, You are able to dig them up and present to us a world of knowledge and wonder. I think every time you pull up something that is un recognizable it could be 100s and 100s of years old and no one has touched it until you bring it back to life and make it usable again. What a great hobby. Thanks so much for bringing us along in your adventures. I know you two have lives outside of mudlarking, but I wish you could go back to sharing your videos 2 times a week. It seems so long in between your postings. You two spoiled us. I'm looking forward to each and every adventure or crafting you share with us. Thanks again for being such an inspiration.

When Kate said that paste pot was stinky, I knew exactly what she meant. As soon as she said it I could almost smell it. When I was a child, my grandmother had a stream below her house and my cousins and I would play in it and find old bottles as well. Whenever we would pull one out the liquid was always stinky. Haha!!

nice finds ladies and i see you found one of my marbles that i lost many years ago, thats what the wife says :0) with the broken cod bottle the knight has armour on and one piece was on the right upper arm to stop him being hit in the neck or throat area so it might look like a baby it's not it's just the armour or a small shield with the knight's coat of arms :0) thank you for taking us and looking forward to the next one :0)

Knaresborough in Yorkshire has the same water, there is a small water fall there where people hang up random objects ie baby shoes or a glove. After a while they turn to stone and they get re collected... Its fascinating to see the objects change over time.

I've been pretty grim this week and the rats have suddenly decided they won't take their medicine anymore (for varying ailments) 🤦‍♂️ Glad you two uploaded another video 😊 I love the pork pie ink and the old bottles! There is supposedly a petrifying well in my local woods at Dibbinsdale, but it is in private land and inaccessible. Lots of history in my area of Wirral, it's just a shame that the River Dibbin (that runs through Dibbinsdale) is full of modern litter and looks devoid of anything old 🤔 Hope You two and Oscar etc are all doing well in these crazy times! x

Wow! A location that inspires a fascination of mysterious wonderings. Kate, at 3: 19 you found a bead (And) a fossilized (Cheerio/cereal). :D I know .... I'm funny. Fleur, the squarish-bottomed (Gilbey?) bottle is a neat base. Clean it up, sand off sharp edges and it would display nicely on it's side. (But) If you don't want to keep it, remember that Gail and Alex are cooking up a mystery project to utilize bottle bases. Looked like a Cod marble in the stream, at 12: 15, near bottom of screen. : )

The goo is probably some lime buildup. To clean it up soak the items in vinegar or a mild acid bath like drain cleaner and it will take all of it off. Depending on the deposite overnight in vinegar should devolve most of it. It will not harm glass or ceramics. It's hot here too. +38c today. It's hard to believe I was complaining about -38c a couple of months ago.

i was raised in houston, texas and nearby there was a giant hangar for one of the Goodyear blimps, i think there were 4 of them around the u.s........every now and then they would deflate the rubber envelope and install a new one. the one from Texas was always riddled with bullet holes. (the other 3 were not) that speaks volumes about the Texas gun culture in which i was once but am no more deeply imbedded. peace be with you

Do you girls have a UV lens to add to the front of your camera lens? It can be turned and reduce if not remove the sun's glare from the surface of stream water. Keep the lens protector on and add on top. The areal footage at the beginning and the initial waterfall footage was wonderful. I love adventuring with you two. The birdsong is beautiful. Kate I love your Wellies. What type of butterfly 🦋 was that? It was pretty. I'm starting to believe that England has fairies who fly around the country dropping marbles just so Kate can find them. Kate you are magic. Your Wellies changed colour. So it's you who is a fairy 🧚‍♀️ I wrote all the above before you guys told of the wells history. It truly looked like a magic place. The little pork pie bottles would look cute grouped together and have shorts flowers in them like daisies. Your bottle with its fairy lights is perfect. Another use for the trumpet mouth piece, a birthday candle holder. Your 2 plates are gorgeous 😍.

Lets just say Goddess territory ; beautiful place, lovely peaceful vibe . Spongeware mostly unmarked unless for export so could be English ; Scottish, Welsh or Irish like you said . I like the trumpet mouthpiece . Life is sweet in the river on a hot day and doesn't summer smell gorgeous. Swans today 10 floating along ; serenity man ; not for sale and a pure white agate fit for a bride .

Beautifully put! It definitely felt like Goddess territory.I think sometimes these places have soaked in some of the folklore that revolved around them and you can feel it (that may sound a bit mad haha) :) x

@@MudlarkingWithKitCaboodlers not mad at all in fact inspiring and holding more truth than we think ; old wisdom and remembered gods . I would rather be a visionary than a mirror. I prefer when Alice goes in to the rabbit hole in other words .

😊 I think it's calcium carbonate ? It's nice to see Kate in clean water instead of dirty water and mud for a change.

I have heard some of the older folks in Kentucky saying pisen instead of poison. These people would have been born in the late 1800s.

Same here in the Ozarks. Pizen stones were a thing.

Lovely as usual. Really enjoyed the countryside and close ups of the magic of a wooded area. The teeny mushroom was precious. Definitely a mouthpiece of a trumpet, coronet or other brass instruments. Thank you

That material that's coating everything looks like calcium carbonate deposits. I guess that water is very hard (i.e. high dissolved calcium carbonate content) and it precipitating calcium carbonate onto any place the water slows down or drips, it's the same process that forms stalagtites and stalagmites in caves and limescale in your pipes/kettle. It will dissolve in vinegar (even a fairly weak solution) or the cleaning tablets folks use for their false teeth.
