I just drilled mine out in front of the baffleso it's straight thru with added holes in the directing plate the plate is only still there to hold the arrestor screen in place make almost twice as much torque as it did with the stock muffler it's a bit louder but can live with that and it takes one more pull for cold starts so instead of two three pulls and I likely can make this better by doing it's annual tuneup.
*I think it is a good modification, but the two-stroke engines can not or should not have the exhaust very open these engines need some retention of gases for proper operation*
Not really the more open a two stroke is the better and cleaner it will run. More airflow means better power and better efficiency. Which adds up to cleaner emissions. Is that not the whole point of all the new devices on the market.
