Me too Cheers oven all the way. Why waste money on a useless press toooo much time when your making 20 or more tumblers have a great weekend🌷btw. My convention oven works perfect 385*degrees for EXACTLY 5 mins and we don't even turn the tumbler. Perfection everytime! Cheers Ontario Canada
Convection oven all the way for me. I started off with the press and hated it. You don’t need shrink wrap for the oven, all i use is heat resistant tape to secure my image.
What issues did you have with the press? We are the opposite. We started with an over and it was awful. Now have a schulze mug turbo 15 and it is amazing.
I'm returning my tumbler press.. I can't get good tops no matter how well I tape them. I've tried super tight pressure, even looser pressure. Nothing I've tried gives me tops with white spots. However, my tumblers come out perfect almost every single time in convention oven.
I love watching your videos. You always have a smile on your face and in your voice. I agree with using a tumbler press. It's so easy and takes so much less time than an oven. I saw so many posts of people having trouble using an oven that I went straight for a press.
Confection oven 385* degrees 5 mins and I dont turn the tumblers Perfection everytime Can do 10 tumblers or more at a time. Easy when you have 20 or more tumblers. Why fiddle with a press? Cheers. Happy Easter🐇🌷
For me.. I wanted to do different sizes and products. My press won’t do larger mugs, and tumblers. Buying multiple presses adds up and requires a good amount of designated storage and work workspace. And- one at a time. I think ultimately, the press is a better way to go but I now have both, and a heat press for shirts and flat objects. Where did you get your tape dispenser?
Thanks for the informative video. What if you have odd shaped tumblers. I have some tapered travel mugs which are not the standard 17oz mug size for the standard heat press attachment?
I ordered a press and waiting for it to come in. I ran across your video. On your press do you have to rotate the tumbler? Or does it press it all at once. I’ve been watching many videos to get familiar with mine. Many people say they rotate to get a full sub on their tumbler. It made me curious, does your do a full press.
When you did the mug press you said 60 seconds and it's done... but did you flip it it looks exposed on the very top? And also what temp did you use. 🙏
The ovens take so much longer. Taping is very important. I love using my tumbler press. It presses up to 30 ounces. I rarely use my convection oven. Maybe I’ll try to sublimate a bowl or something in the oven. 😮
It’s so odd to me that people would use a confection oven as opposed to an actual sublimation oven designed specifically to make tumblers and many other items. Of course there will be issues using a confection oven, it’s not designed for sublimation.
Great video and information I was contemplating a convection oven as opposed to using cricut mug press since I have to spin and turn the mug (I am a crafter not a seller) if I were to sell I would definitely get the bigger press.
If you want to make tumblers the cricut mug press isn’t the way to go. It’s definitely an investment for a crafter but it’s much more consistent for me!
Please can you tell me if it’s ok to put a final coat of crystalac over a tumbler that has epoxy? I made some pens and want to put a decal on them but I’m not using epoxy anymore. Do I need to sand them or would the epoxy repel off the epoxy?
Did you show the difference between the two tumblers after? I'm really interested to see if not, if you did I'm sorry I had kids hanging off me while watching.
I didn't do a side by side but I can tell you that WHEN I got the oven to work - it looked fine. But I had SO MANY that didn't turn out in the process - i wasted so many tumblers :(
I have a tutorial that does through the detailed steps of how to make a sublimation tumbler here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jUfTdmJeX78.html
