@@krlllx oh sorry. idk boxin has weight class too. im new to this. just get amazed by conor vs floyd. from there i know bout floyd n that he is undefeated but i just know bout that which pretty umm.. idk
@@rishavbadola7357 IDK but I feel like the video was sped up ! Or was he really this fast ? PS: I don't know anything about boxing nor do I watch it, so I'm not taking anything from Ali but I feel like the speed is not real
1:19 dude...what the fuck??? He moonwalked backwards but was landing punches forward at the same time??? Truly the greatest to have ever lived ❤ RIP Champ
People do not understand that losing doesn’t mean someone isn’t good. It means they have picked opponents that were dangerous to them. Muhammad Ali never backed down from a fight and never made excuses. That is why he was the greatest.
His movement, his punches, his speed, the way he dodges, his style, his attitude and wit, -everything about him is what makes him the greatest. He was so fluent, made it look so simple and easy. I guess its just like what Bruce Lee said, simplicity is the key to brilliance. The guy was ahead of his time!.
Ali was great but there were guys before him who ali learnt off, Gene Tunney for one, from the 1920's, you can see ali took a lot from him. Ali looked so great because he was a heavyweight, his style was pretty common among lower weight fighters who can move better
cashJOHNNYcash17 Interesting that you would say that because Tunney was a great bob and weave fighter. Ali was not. Ali would lean back and away from punches, something fighters in all divisions to this day are taught not to do. Tunney never did that shuffle move. And of course, Ali's talking was a mental ploy he used to disrupt your thinking process and fight plan. All part of his style. Yes, Ali slipped punches like many fighters. Yes, because he kept his distance he could get away with his hands around his navel. Yes, he wasn't a big puncher. To say Ali's style was or is pretty common in lower weight divisions is false. To say fighters emulate and steal from other fighters is a given, and it's all dependent on your strengths, weaknesses and what your trainer(s) are teaching. I don't see where Ali stole anything stylistically from Tunney. If what you're trying in thinly disguised form is a criticism of Ali; if what you're saying is that fighters of Tunney's era were superior to Ali and that Ali is overrated I would disagree even more.
Hel Gar first off the shuffle ali did had no purpose but to look good... I meant he took from tunney fighting with hands down, conserving energy, attacking when the opponent wasn't ready, working off a quick jab, being all round smart in the ring. And no I'm not saying fighters from back then were superior to Ali but I was responding to that guy who said Ali was way before his time.. which he wasn't really because there were fighters long before him who paved the way, who created fighting styles before him, Ali took old styles and added flashy stuff to it, thats it
Danced and pieced people apart with lightning fast punches. If it were so easy as just “dancing”, more boxers would do it and attain his legendary status.
The punch bombardment after 3:54 is just the best scene in whole boxing history. Damn man. Think about the guy in front of Ali, how he felt at that moment...
The most unbelievable thing about the speed of that bombardment is that he is a heavyweight. Literally never seen a heavyweight move like that before. Unreal..
I’ve boxed since I could walk and for those who have, Ali was on another level. Seeing the things he did against seasoned fighters was incredible. I had the chance to meet Ali twice over two days when I was about 16 and going into my first golden gloves tournament. It was surreal how big the champ was in person. I was fortunate enough to be standing on the corner of 56th street and 6th Ave and he turned the corner with his wife and I walked up and shook his hand in disbelief. Rest easy Champ.
FeelTheRave also how is that “progressing the sport”? Half the time they were just swinging wildly and clinching, and this is not hate it’s just my thoughts on the matter. Really would have liked to see Ali fight in person ngl.
As I wipe a tear away from my cheek, I just want to say thank you for putting this video together. Ali was a rare occurance in humanity and I feel so proud to have witnessed him in my own life. Foreman said it best when he said that Ali should be considered more of an artist. It gives me goosebumps to see such an amazing acknowledgement of his talent. This is probably my favorite video on RU-vid.
I remember an interview years ago with a boxer who had fought him and he said it was like trying to hit a ghost, He said that Ali was right in front of you, you'd throw your fastest punch and make contact with nothing but air, and by the time your fist came back, Ali was back right in front of you.
The saddest thing is....when you watch these clips as amazing as they are you have to realize that Ali wasn't even at his peak yet!! His prime years were stolen from him by government tyranny!! Can you imagine what kind of a fighter he would have been had he been able to continue his career during the years he was in exile (1967-70)? He would have been BEYOND mind-boggling---his body was just starting to really mature and fill out and he would have added a hard hitting punch to all that speed. It would have been the absolute perfect combination...he would have set a standard that no other fighter would ever come close to duplicating!!
nyterpfan he was also considering retiring after the foley fight (just before the ban), so if he retired he would've retired undefeated, and would be able to still talk today. but no, the government did their bs and ali probably tried to make up for lost time and went on way longer than he should have.
The Kelz during the fight(pre or after, can't remember) interview for the foley fight ali was saying how he'd like to retire being the first hw fighter to hit and not get hit, and planned to not let people know if he can take a punch or not. and ali pretty much gave up on boxing after the foley fight cause that's when the government and boxing council started to push; when they took away his license he never thought he would fight again, so that's as good as a retirement (apart from his perfect scenario retirement as stated in that interview). but like i said, if the boxing council never took his license away, and based on what ali wanted during the 60's he definitely would've retired undefeated and no parkinsons. the lawyer fees and all the $$$ involved defending yourself in court + taking care of your family (ali already had kids at this point) does take a toll, and ali had no means to make money like how he did in boxing so he was drained on money. it's because of that drain he probably wanted to make up for lost time in the 70's when he lost his footwork and did the rope a dope stuff instead.
Man.. This shows who Muhammad Ali is! Genius. Flexibility at peak. When he start throwing punch no one could bear with that. None. How he would've trained to achieve this phase in life?! Respect!!! 👏🏽👏🏽
+Graham Walker Honestly just go into your sitting room, close the curtains take your opinion and shove it right up your arse. Can we just let The Champ rest in peace, please?
Bambino Jordanie Main character from Dragon Ball. In the most recent series Dragon Ball Super, he obtains ultra instinct. Ultra instinct allows him to flow like water so he doesn’t have to think to move, it’s by complete instinct. This allows him to be pretty much untouchable.
Skittle Haus Because, the series are different. Every dragon ball had a different animation style, different/new characters, a different storyline, etc.
My boxing coach always tells me: put your hands up if you don't wanna kiss the floor. But I shake my head every time I see Muhammad Ali's boxing fight. His hands aren't really up but mannnn...he dodges punches so well.
cause you gotta learn the basics first, everybody went through the basics even ali. Then once you walk into the ring, it's your choice to do whatever you want
It's so fascinating how much he was able to minimize his movement just enough to dodge shots without losing a ton of energy. He was really a genius at the sport.
@@aluccxxs7621 "But I mean your Thanos, I guess that didn't work out for you huh." - Lamest joke I ever heard. Please do not mistake my profile pic for my actual identity, I've listened to a lot of 10 year olds that try to pull off the same shit in every comment I make. Don't be one of them Edit: It's the year 2020 and yet people still can't the words your* and you're* right, smh
Yo ali was the not the hardest hitter in heavyweight there were people that you never even heard of that hit a lot harder than him it's just the way he hit you when he hit you and how fast he hit you that kept the momentum going his power was behind his speed
Absolute machine. No boxer in today's age can even come close to what this legend had all natural and dedicated his whole life and everything didn't care about money either
“I’ve wrestled with alligators, I’ve tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning And throw thunder in jail. You know I’m bad. just last week, I murdered a rock, Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick. I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.” -Muhammad Ali
kb kb What a poet. An entertainer. Very outspoken too, especially considering how his race was treated during his time. He’s so outspoken that every time I read his quotes like this comment right here, I hear his voice and his voice only. Not mine.
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, his hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see. Now you see me, now you don’t George thinks he will, but I know he won’t.
It's not just speed, he anticipates the opponents punch so amazingly that he can calmly stand there and dodge it. Roy Jones Jr is the only other boxer I've seen come close to doing that.
How does skinny-fast 188 lb (vs Miteff) to 213 lb (vs gut-shot Williams) Low-Power Prime Cruiserweight Cassius Clay beat Powerful Prime Proven Super Heavyweights King Fury who never lost or President Ibeabuchi who never lost or Lion Lewis who only lost twice or Big Daddy Bowe who only lost once or Dr Ironfist Vitali who never hit the canvas and only lost twice or Dr Steelhammer Wladimir who never lost for 12 years (longer than Joe Louis) or even Holmes and Tyson? ( "HE DOESN'T" ) Imagine small Clay/Ali trying to manhandle all those Powerful Giant's and hold them behind their neck like he did to little Frazier exactly 133 times during their 2nd boring lackluster fight. GOAT King Fury 6'9" 277 lbs with an 85" albatross like wingspan would have cut off the ring and tied little featherfisted Clay up in knots during clinches. Ali actually lost 9 fights (Norton II & lll, Shavers, Young) not 5,, and his faculties were severely traumatized for an entire decade ..it's not how you start IT'S HOW YOU FINISH Who did Ali actually beat? Old man Liston quit and took-a-dive. Williams was gut-shot point blank with .357 magnum and almost died 4 times. Foreman panicked and punched himself out during the extreme heat and humidity in Zaire Congo. 205 lb Norton snapped his jaw and 205 lb one 👁️ Joe smacked yo overrated greatest into La La Land Why is everyone so afraid to expose or even question extremely biased media hyped Ali? Wanna know why? Because left-wing cancel culture is real. Just try to remove Ali from #1 rankings/polls and watch what happens.
It comes as a shock that both George Foreman and Ken Norton would be two of the lightest fighters the Klitschko brothers have ever faced. George Foreman, whom they called "Big George" had an average median weight of 217 lbs through the entire 1970s. Foreman would be in the BOTTOM-3 of Vitali Klitshcko's LIGHTEST opponents he ever faced. And Ken Norton (208 lbs) would be in Wladimir Kliitschko's BOTTOM-2 LIGHTEST opponents he ever faced.
Of the 61 fights that Clay/Ali fought 29 wouldn't be allowed nowadays as heavyweight because one or both opponents were below 200 lbs at the time of the bout. In other words they would run as cruiser fights (or below) and Klitschko wouldn't be allowed to stage them. Of the remaining 32 fights Ali lost 4. I am talking about being a cruiser AT THE TIME OF THE BOUT e.g. Ali vs Jimmy Robinson 177 lbs or Ali vs Alex Miteff (with Ali himself being 188 lbs). If one would additionally delete FORMER cruisers off Ali's record (= those boxers who boxed below 200 lbs at some point in their career) then Clay/Ali's record would be 13-1. Take for example Bob Foster vs Ali. Foster himself (56-7) is a non-bummy boxer. That's good. But a win against Foster is WORTHLESS for a heavyweight record comparison. Foster was 180 lbs at the time of the bout. Foster's worthiness in terms heavyweight (as it is defined nowadays) is ZERO
This is the one. The one that made me a fan years ago. I've probably left other comment here from my main TCJ account. This will always be special to me.
If you look basketball, soccer, football, hockey, etc all of those kinda sport are changing with more complex, more rules, more technology, more great athletes, and every revolutionary change But in boxing, this is the golden era, Muhammad Ali make boxing beautiful beyond every generation..
Esar Abdikar Soccer why ? you're idiot man is not soccer it is Football "FOOT" "BALL" OK you re ignorants americans count american football is funny 😂😂 real football is europan football
“I know I’m great but in this situation, every head must bow, every tongue must confess, this man was the greatest of all time” - Iron Mike Tyson 1989’.
M006 from whom? Some Jew 6000 years ago that spoke English? Yeah, he’s quoting the Bible, all written by one man 400 years ago in order to control people who couldn’t understand the language it was written in. It worked.
@@JR-kc8jx What a weak, vague, and unconvincing argument you just proposed. If you think contemporary Christianity is flawed then provide one or two arguments to support your opinion. Also check your dates. Many agree with you that the bible is a copy of a copy of a copy, with large number of mistakes and inputs from individual's opinions. You will need to be convincing and polite in communicating to get the message over.
He's so fast it looks like he gets hit as the dodges, love how the ref doesn't even know where to stand most of the time. You know it's a good boxing match when the ref is wizzing around the ring sweating his head off haha
It's even sadder once you realize that Ali will become less and less relevant with each new generation that is born. Such is the sad cycle of life. Legends might be immortal, but they will still always be a thing of the past.
***** You Know what Kills it? Mayweather Actualy has the same fighting style Ali he rope a doped manny let him tire himself out and then in the later round he stayed away and started throwing jabs
I doubt it Jamal ... things seems to come along once in a lifetime relatively in sport ... there are other examples such as George Best, Alex Higgins and John McEnroe of which I am sure there are more that defy logic and entertain with their phenomenal gift!
You missed out the right hand leads Ali threw consistently in the Foreman fight. Those lead rights befuddled Foreman as he never thought anyone would be audacious enough to throw them against him, or be that fast to get away with it. Even at a heavier weight than his prime, slower and some could say less of a fighter, he still throw the best lead rights I’ve ever seen in a boxing match. The sweat spraying from Foreman’s head in slow mo was incredible. There will never, I repeat never be a fighter like Muhammad. People who think Tyson would have beaten him are deluded. He would have played with Mike.
The ultimate GOAT! Growing up I watched Ali on Wide World Of Sports, he would fight 3-4 times a year! Not like these guys today, fighting once every 2 years! Ali would drop his arms to his side and still couldn’t be hit!
This is astonishing. Every time someone swings at him, they hit fresh air. The reflexes, and ability to read how is opponent moves make it look like he's playing with them. I don't know if he sparred with Bantam weights to dodge, and stand out of the way of incoming punches, but you need to see him filmed in slow motion to understand just how astonishingly fast he was. Rest in Peace, Muhammad Ali. "I am the Greatest" was a simple observation, and no more hyperbole than "the sky is blue".
I liked how when dodging sometimes he doesn't even bother clearing the opponent's hand completely. He leans back just a few millimeters, enough so that the guy can touch his face but just not actually hit it. That's not just fast dodging that's precision dodging. LOL must be so frustrating to be those punchers!
You may have passed champ, but you will live eternally in the hearts of mankind. Though your legacy was a champion inside the ring, you were the greatest outside too. Anytime I need motivation. Any time I fall, I will remember you and remind myself impossible is NOTHING. Thank you for everything champ, you can float and sting freely again in paradise.
Lutar contra ele seria muito complicado. Era impossível explicar em seu tempo, mas, você sabia que iria perder não importando seu porte físico, treinamento, estrutura... Ali era superior e simplesmente o maior da história.
lmao the funny thing is that is the knock everyone had on his fighting style he would hug and lean on all his opponents :D guess you haven't watch many of his fights, but he's still my favourite boxer ever
3:53 you'll never see a pro boxer ever again with this sort of speed, skill, precision, ruthlessness or tactics in the ring. To move in a way to confuse his opponent as to when/where the next punch is coming from to them unleash a load of accurate punches one after another! There will never be a boxer like him to walk the earth ever again...
There are talents but they have no money to train That's why you dont see them... In. My opinion there are even more talented fighters than Ali was...but again without opportunities.. Forgotten and never discovered by anyone
@@calbo555 yep, only 3 or 4 land, but that last one got him upside the head and it was over. And honestly, he just needed that last one, but the others set it all up.
Rest in peace Ali.You were really in your own league of that game.Your legacy will living forever for all of us and show us that anything is possible. You motivate me so much with your actions and words. The best in the past, present and future.
Against all the odds he rose he fought he spoke he kept his words he was dedicated he was hard working he out performed everybody to be the greatest. He deserved the title greatest he is the greatest Mohammed Ali. I love him because he inspires me every time. He is wow.
Strength makes the brawler. Technique makes the thinker. Speed makes the opportunist. Combined, it makes the fighter. Courage makes the hero. Dignity makes the man. Success makes the idol. Endurance makes the survivalist. Combined, it makes Ali.
He was fast, yes, but what really set him apart was his mastery of timing. He rarely had to react quickly to a punch, because he had already predicted that it was coming before it was even thrown.
+yoseiki Thats F off you troll his religion isn't why he didnt go to war he was a man of dignity who stood up for his beliefs, why would he go and kill people who did nothing to him when it was white people that kept him segregated and treated him second class. Alright then tell me some boxers who are better than Ali you mug
