Not i n the Heavyweight division do the fight like Ali, they are slobs that look like bar fighters compared to Ali, heck compared to any Heavyweight in the modern age.
I saw Ali in his College Circuit at the University of Calgary, I was staying at a CO-ED Dorm, mostly Arabic floor level, they were going to Pray, so I joined. My roommate knew him from New York, a Lebanese X Black Man. Girls liked him, but they stayed away from me, I was an Instructor in Tae Kwon Do, and Ali was laughing at me... that is a memory I will Cherish. Then I read a book about him. I later named my Son, "Malcolm B. Cardinal," when I completed my Studies. Ali is the Greatest.
This was the old Ali. Dancing, up on his toes, circling. Snapping left jabs, leaning back to make Terrell miss. Terrell was just trying to make it through the fight from about halfway through.
You forgotten to mention the most important thing about Ali, he will always grab the opponent so he won't get punched no more. He is so unprofessional. I don't see how any boxer would really want to fight him.
@@jaspernemesio3816 How many times did Terrell hit Ali on the back of the head during the clinches? He landed more illegal (rabbit) punches to the back of the head than everywhere else combined for the first eight rounds. After that, Terrell was just looking to survive.
I feel like I’m watching Ali’s fights for the first time and the last. I was 5 when he beat Liston and I have watched all of his fights, boxing and legal, my entire life. But lately, I have seen them with a new appreciation. The Greatest is even Greater than I realized
@@mike62mcmanus ...First of all, Ali wasn't knocked out by Cooper. The former was knocked down, gotten up and walked toward the corner under his own power. Dundee didn't used a razor to split Ali's glove. There was already a slit in the latter's glove. The former had widened the slit to buy a few extra seconds. Dundee requested for a new pair of gloves, to no avail. Ali stopped Cooper by a technical knockout in the fifth round, as predicted. I don't know why do you and the rest of the anti-Alis have to make such a huge case out of it. Ridiculous!!
@@mike62mcmanus Ali was Ali. He did what he believed was right and was champ the way he wanted to be champ. Accept him for what he was, because he wasn’t in it to please anyone but himself and his God. I loved every second of his career and I loved him, but I didn’t agree with everything he did or said. He loved all people as long as you respected him. I don’t believe he had an ounce of hate in his entire being. He was The Greatest and he made sports in the 60s and 70s great.
Clay was a draft-dodging COWARD and LOST 3 times each to Frazier and Norton, due to holding and holding around the neck, in which the refs would not take points away for all of Clay's FOULING !!!!!
You can tell Harry didn't like Ali Must in the early years of Ali career Ali was dislike by the American media He was portrayed As Anti American Probably because of the war in Vietnam And the name change didn't help Today Ali is a American Hero Rip 🙏 Ali
Ali , in terms of skill, speed and ring craft, looks like he's been boxing all his life, every single day. Terrell looks like he pulled on a set of gloves for the first time that afternoon. Such is the gulf in the talent. Always look at the legs and their movement,- foot positioning, stance, fluidity of movement, cadence, leg strength. The legs never lie.
@@Bestroblozianxxx Joe Lewis was an outstanding fighter, and now doubt he was one of best finishers in the game. But he was not as complete as Ali. I wish he had been a little faster and had better foot work.
Ethical fighter? Haha. That’s a good one. You know nothing about fighting obviously. Clay pulled Terrell’s head down over and over which is illegal. He also thumbed Terrell’s eye on purpose. Which should have gotten him disqualified. There wasn’t anything “ethical” about Clay. He called other blacks “uncle toms” for no good reason. Which was wrong. Joe Frazier was ten times the man that Clay was.
35:27 i never see a heavyweight boxer did moves like this thats why in my eyes Muhammed Ali is the best boxer ever float like a butterfly sting like a bee your hands cant hit with your eyes cant see Rest In Peace Legend 🤲🏽❤
I was privileged to spend an afternoon with Muhammad Ali at his home in Michigan. I still have to pinch myself to believe that it happened. But it did. Mid 90s.
Terrell was totally outclassed in this fight and really was fighting not to lose, covering up most of the fight. I noticed Herbert Muhammad said Ali was going to fight Zora Foley next. If you want to see a fighter not cover up and drop his hands versus Ali and see what happens against Ali in his prime, watch that fight. Ali took out Foley with the same punch he knocked out George Foreman many years later.
You are correct. Once Ali had Terrell hurt in the seventh and Ali taunted him in the eighth, the fight was pretty much over. Terrell just wanted to survive and offered very little offense the rest of the way. Ali sensed it and was happy to win a decision.

22:06-22:18 AFTER THE 5th ROUND….SO NO ONE EVER CAUGHT TERRELL CORNER MAN CHEATING….BY GIVING HIM SOME TYPE OF PILL 💊….. 22:06 - 22:18 PAY ATTENTION TO TERRELL
Just a couple of thoughts on the fight. I hadn't watched it in about ten years. Ali threw a lot of uppercuts during the first half of the fight. Terrell threw a lot of punches to the back of Ali's head, once again, during the first half of the fight. After the eighth round, it seemed Terrell was just looking to survive standing up and Ali felt he made his point by the eighth and was content to go the distance as well. Noticeably absent in Ali's corner, Bundini. They had a falling out for a couple of fights and Bundini actually worked with George Chuvalo during that time.
Thanks for that info. I noticed Bundini wasn't there and was wondering why. I also never knew that Bundini worked with George. Are you a part of the facebook group 'Muhammad Ali The Peoples Champion? If not you should be they share little tidbits like that on ever photo, its a great group.
The referee always tapped Ali to break, when Terrell was doing the holding/hitting. Clearly HE had a favorite in this fight. Mills Lane would've stopped the action to warn Terrell at the least.
you stole my comment , lol, i found that odd, he was always grabbing at Ali's gloves and tapping on Ali like he was the one that was doing all the hugging
Back than George Chuvalo is a young stud. I am surpised how handsome he was at the time. Even as a male a felt in love with him. Man was also durable to life which he described in ``Facing Ali`` documentary in 2009. One of the greatest fighter that never became champ.
Muhammad Ali fought through the stinging from the ointment on Liston glove and became heavyweight champ. The two people Terrell though he saw was Cassius Clay watching Muhammad Ali teaching him how to say his name
Ali's speed was always the key to his success, there were so many times in this fight that he was wide open but Terrell just didnt have the speed to hit ali with a clean shot. Terrell was a difficult fighter for ALi, he didnt give Ali much of any openings for a good clean shot much less for Ali to hit him with those beautiful combinations Ali was known for. But i think it was Terrell was just not aggresive enough or didnt want to get knocked out to really push the fight. He would have had to take more chances if he really wanted to win. I think Ernie was happy just to go 15 and collect his check. Howard always claimed that Ali was just punishing Terrell and could have knocked him out anytime he wanted. I dont think so, i dont think it was worth the risk for Ali to really go at him, plus i think Ali's humanity kicked in and he wasnt going to kill the dude just because he wouldnt call him ALi. Ali wasnt a psychopath after all.ALi just kept sticking him and added up the points for a win.
hammer44head ...Muhammad Ali could have knocked out Ernie Terrell anytime he wanted to. The former said that he was going to punish the latter for fifteen rounds, and he did.
@@brucescott4261 That was said before the fight, but after the eighth round, the fight changed. Terrell was just looking to finish the fight standing up and Ali was content not to humiliate Terrell any further.
Joe Louis may be calling Ali, "Clay," for any number of reasons, but every time he is asked to rate Ali as a fighter, as in this fight and the first Liston fight, he takes nothing away from the champ. This time it was, "Ali is a great champion and he's proven it tonight." He also didn't agree with Cossell's disparaging comments about Ali's tactics, saying, "I don't know Howard, he can do anything he wants." I love Joe Louis.
Ali beat the Tom out of ernie. Even after Ali beat him the way he did ernie still didn't get what Ali stood for now that's what you call a lost man. The man changed his name went would that bother any one. Most of our people don't know that we have slave masters last names.
Can you imagine. Before Ali. All fighters stood toe to toe.they never saw anyone like him before. Early 1960s. WOW and carry over 200ibs. MAN .So fast So graceful, So accurate.a puncher.Floating for 12. Rounds..And not even breathing hard. And very Flamboyant. But most in important,He was always a gentalman outside the ring,
WHAT AMAZES ME MOST IS THAT ALI KEPT THIS MAN ON HIS FEET JUST SO THAT HE COULD BEAT ON HIM MERCELESSLY FOR NOT CALLING HIM ALI BUT ONLY CLAY AND IRONICALLY NOBODY AT THE ANOUNCERS TABLE EXCEPT HOWARD CALLED HIM ALI EITHER.
Terrell should have been at lest cautioned with threatened points deduction early on for punching around the back of the head and body. The referee was pretty weak
At one point he has Ali in a headlock and is hitting him over the back while the referee is trying to break them....ridiculous so many hits to the back of the head....Terrell should have been penalized for that.
Yes the ref needed fired on spot. He could t hit Ali until the clinch and the. Behind the head and where ever. Poor sportsmanship. That’s why he got his ass beat for 15 rounds.
It was 1967 and he had only changed his name just 2.5- 3 years prior. The new name hadn’t fully stuck yet but Joe did like Ali(although he thought he was arrogant).
@@roberthorton6619 Wrong. Louis was widely known as the best and even the boxing commission regards him as one of the most complete fighters in boxing History. Known to fight ranked #1 & #2 contenders, he held the title for damn near 12 years. Calling Louis a bum shows your ignorance, Mr. Horton...
Ali threw his punches from every angle who was unique and there was no match for him at that time the way he dances he combines his legs exactly with his punches who was born to be that tobe the champ of all time
Cosell: Joe Louis tonight said you are a great fighter. Ali: I don't need Joe Louis to tell me I'm a great fighter. I've been tellin' you for the past 6 years I'm a great fighter.

@@greyghostscsa394 What's up with your calling him Clay? At the time of the fight his name was Muhammad Ali. Terrell refused to call him by his new name. Fifty-five years later it seems you are unaware of that history.
Alki fouled him much worse with a single foul. Damaged Terrell's eye badly, I think Terrell won anyway. Ali throws fast flurries but most punches don't land. He gets credit for 'dancing' and flashy conbinations, I'm lookin at punches landed.
