the first round on the second buck looked like it hit the ground and the ricochet hit the deer probably in one lung second shot took both lungs. congrats beautiful deer both of them.

Waiting for Episode 2

I just have to say I am impressed with the direction of Weatherby under Adam. I didn’t give a single Weatherby product a second thought before the company brought the RPM cartridges and Backcountry rifles to market. I now believe that there is no better factory combination than the Backcountry Carbon rifle with the 338 WBY RPM cartridge. You can hunt any animal in North America and all of the African plains game out to 500 yards in a rifle that weighs less than 6 pounds and is short as a carbine. It even meets most of the “Scout Rifle” criteria so Cooper would say that this rifle could even be pressed into defensive use. Amazing! I also have very much enjoyed the videos produced and love that the Weatherbys hunt together. Next level quality in products and services all around.

Love watching your and Brenda hunting adventures!!!! It encouraged my wife to begin hunting with me. So far she's harvested 2 wild boar, and her first whitetail! Couldn't hunt period this year. I'm almost bed ridden with herniated discs L4 and L5. So neither of us got to go hunting this year. Next year!!!!

Congratulations to both Brenda and Adam for two great bucks. Adam knows that deer 🦌 have antlers, not horns but otherwise a good hunt film 🎥 to start off the Mule Deer 🦌 Tour. Both of those cartridges used are high on my list for my first Weatherby rifle using a Weatherby cartridge. 257 Wby Mag being my first choice. Although the new Range XP in 7 PRC is tempting. It’s my dream and goal to get out to Wyoming next fall for a combo mule deer 🦌 and pronghorn rifle hunt. 🙏 I pray that happens.

Love my backcountry 2.0 in 30-378. Might have to save up till next fall to afford another box of ammo but it’s same hole groups..fortunately won’t need many rounds. Haha

Id be curious to know how the the terminal performance of the hammer at that range. I've killed a lot of big game with my weatherby's, and I can guarantee that the 6.5x300 with the swift factory load hits harder and kills quicker than anything I've ever tried.

Awesome episode!!! Does anyone know what bullet she was using for the 6.5RPM? I have a red stag hunt in NZ this year, gonna use my new Meat Eater 6 4:45 .5 RPM and will need that long range damage. I was planning on the 127gr Barnes. Ok, I saw she was shooting 130grn Scirrocos..my bad!

Hey great work! Absolutely beautiful artful harvest of Mule deer. Makes us all wish we were Weatherby’s! The Family aspect of this video is also remarkably refreshing. Anyway, if there is a single draw back it would be the Range that which the second buck was taken. At near a 1/2 mile, some of us old guys who have harvested such 24” to 30” bucks in America, it seems like just maybe that kind of thing should be avoided. The sport of hunting should be hard. It can take several years to get a great harvest. But when on the prowl to just shoot a half mile, paper is enough proof that one can shoot far. But can you stalk enough to say take those mule deer at inside a 1/4 mile? Just saying that is what is much more fair chase. All ok, but with those light rifles comes teaching respect to nature. Which may come in the huge donations you can afford. I hope it get’s to where it saves some large mule deer for our kids.
