My boy Levi joined me on this one. You'll definitely see him again in another vid. Editing video isn't nearly as taxing when you get to relive your time with a loved one.

I have a wood stock 392 with a brass barrel I bought in 2000 for 135$ and it shines brightest with crosman pointed pellets and daisy hollow points. I do like the dragonflys easy pumping and magazine. My 392 will hold a penny at 25 yards but after getting into PCPs it sets in the gun case. I would like to get the dragonfly but doubtful I would ever use it. My .25 cal LCS is everything I could ever want in an airgun. Thanks for the video. Stay blessed.

Nice your back, Levi seems to have developed a sense of humour from somewhere. I still hope one day you will see the light and hop on a spring gun someday, one pump and your done 😉 Although all the quality stuff has flaws and is very expensive, most of the cheaper stuff isn't very good out the box. The lower end of the price market is a funny place some things that should be good disappoint and others out perform, then some marketing whatnot realises they are better than they need to be and decides to cut corners to make more profit and stuffs up a good thing.

This is the second video I watched that said the dragonfly takes up to a maximum of 15 pumps. I recently purchased this 22 caliber pump air rifle. I thought they were both wrong. I thought the instructions said 5 pumps Max! So I just wen and checked instructions again with my glasses on and seeing it clearly says 15! I want to thank you both for that because I didn't think the gun was powerfull enough and was bouncing pellets out of wood more than half the time. I was going to return it. What a mistake that would have been. Just tried it out at 15 pumps with two different types of pellets: hawki pointed 19.9gr and stoeger x hunt 15.74gr. both stuck into 2 inch thick pressure treated wood. Both pellets penetrated into the wood between 1/4 and 1/3 of an inch from the end of the pellet. The stoeger going to the deeper depth. I think due to its lighter weight. But I'm no expert. Love the gun. Only complaint for me would be pumping 15 times 4 maximum power. The last three pumps get a bit harder, but nothing major. Love the looks of the gun, the feel, the balance, the sights. I would prefer the handle fit onto the metal frame more securely. Love the gun and I'm glad I purchased it over the Benjamin 392S. Only fired it at short range but I find it very accurate. While I think I would have been happy with the Benjamin in most ways, I definitely prefer the real Woodstock of the dragonfly and the fiber optic sights. And even though you have to pump it more, they are much easier than any other pump airgun I have ever had. And you can see from videos pumping the Benjamin takes a lot of effort. I think anyone who buys this pellet gun and enjoys pump air rifles, will be satisfied with it for sure. It is also the most powerful pump air rifle I have owned. It claims a Max of 730 ft per second. I believe with the right pellets, it will exceed that.

i hope you read this ted. i have the seneca dragonfly MK2 in .22. i had accuracy issues like you have in this video until i removed the forward barrel band/pumptube cap by removing the thread adapter and the 2 small screws on the pump tube cap. after this i ordered the appropriate length of 12 mm inner diameter 15 mm outer diameter carbon fiber tube (i forget the measurement but) i ran it skintight over the barrel going from covering the first few threads on the naked muzzle all the way down to the rear barrel band/rear sight mount and then torqued down on the 3 grub screws in the barrel band before torqueing down the thread adapter on the carbon fiber tube. this creates a tensioned freefloat barrel and olympics pcp rifle level accuracy. i get 3 shot groups .24" ctc at 30 yards (on my rangefinder) with a .22 multipump... i behead dandelions with it at the same range by shooting the stem. i have affectionately named her Cornelia, so i can call her: Corny! also the trigger can be improved easily: the trigger blade itself doesnt actually disengage the sear. instead, theres a set screw requiring a very small allen key set into the trigger blade that can be tightened or loosened to alter the feel of the trigger. mines butter at less than a pound and a half. if you intend to do trigger work do it over an illuminated, clean work surface with raised edges, the trigger is held together by two stainless(?) pins, one of which really likes to run away! if you find this helpful please upload a video so i can see im not crazy!

The original Sheridans were the best. I had a Silver Streak that I hunted jack rabbits, cotton tails, ground squirrels, quail and rats with. I got paid 10 cents per rat! I have two later model Sheridans but neither of them are as good as the original. I took advantage of the Pyramid Air sale on the Dragonfly and found best accuracy with JTS Dead Center pellets

You don't have to completely close the pump while pumping. Pull the handle down until the bar hits the pump tube and that is all the air that will be pumped and start again. You are wasting a lot of energy by camming the pump handle completely against the tube. I completely stripped my pump, degreased it, and then lubed it with pellgun oil. Pumping is significantly easier. With 10 pumps mine gets 775 fps with a 14.66 grain pellet (19.55 ft lbs) and is a tack driver. 11 to 15 pumps doesn't significantly increase power. I have a moderator on mine and it snugs up against the front sight tensioning the barrel slightly and I think that adds to accuracy.

Hey Ted, I don't know how the new 392 is, but the last models that had the wood stocks suffered accuracy problems because the black paint that they use to paint the brass barrels suffered overspray in the riffling at the muzzle and can effect grouping quite a bit. I thought this was a bunch of bull when I read about it, until I bought a 397 and couldn't get it to group with any pellets. I took some fingernail polish remover and a bore brush and cleaned the paint overspray out of the riffing at the muzzle and my groups tightened up quite nice. It seems to be a common problem with the "newer" guns. Just a thought... Enjoyed the video. William C. central Indiana.

Great Stuff Ted! Glad you and your son have these wonderful moments together. Thanks for sharing! I'm surprised to see you had an accurate rifle passed 25-30 yards. I've read reports of the Dragonfly in .22 cal having barrel issues and not being rigid enough to maintain accuracy without some mods. Looking forward to your Crosman 362 review and mods. I have a crap ton of different pellet and can't get my Crosman steel breech w/one grub screw to shoot anything smaller them 2"groups passed 25 yards at full power. Is the key the 2 or 3 barrel grub screw steel breeches? or is it the barrel not rigid enough?

Idk if this will answer your question or not but I have the Seneca and I can tell you it’s an amazing gun. especially for the price. I’ve put over 1000 rounds through it within the past year or so and I found the JSB hades to be the best pellet for that gun. As for how the barrel is, it seems good to me as I’ve only cleaned it once and can hold 1/4 - 1/2 inch groups from 25 yards with the JSB’s. But I will say that I tried shooting some h&n slugs out of it and they shot good but when I went back to normal pellets, I had to shoot about 20 shots for it to get dialed back into a good accuracy. So if I were you, I’d pick a favorite pellet and shoot only those.

I got a Benjamin 347 .177 air rifle for Christmas when I was 13 or 14, back in the late 70s. I chronoed it about 10 years ago and at full power it was about equal to my Beeman R9, at 3 pumps, about the same as my R7. I still have it and it is still one of the most accurate air rifles I own. I bought a 392 .22 about 12 years ago and was very disappointed in the accuracy. I don't know why Crosman would buy an iconic brand, a higher end brand than Crosman ever made, and cheapen it to the point of being mediocre at best.

Did you clean the paint out of the 392's muzzle? That helps because it has a painted brass barrel, whereas most of its competitors have blued steel; hence no paint overspray in the muzzle. You can clean it out with acetone and a Q-tip.

Lookin pretty yoked there, Ted. Who needs to pump iron when you can pump airguns? I'm super excited for your thoughts on the 362. I got one last year around Christmas and I've dramatically reduced the population numbers of collared doves in my area. Taking headshots at 20 yards with a very high rate of success (using some Amazon special scope WITHOUT AO, which is annoying...).

So instead of MAGA it’s MMPGA??? Yeah I don’t know about that one… The key issue is multi pumps were never fundamentally “great” IMO… I will say the gun I was gifted in 2002 ish was way better than the one I bought in 2008 ish at 18. One key thing is buy pellet only never buy the BB/pellet combo!!! They don’t shoot BBS or pellets accurately and having a BB reservoir is useless!!!
