thank you so much ... right now im trying to figure out why is it that a teacher in actual school takes forever to teach something so simple and makes it 1000448735972x harder but tablet class just gave me perfect understanding in 2 minutes !!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much you saved me from getting behind in online school thank you so much you rock! (Ps: I wish you were my math teacher your so much simpler, you can explain things in 10 minutes while teachers be taking 2 class periods to explain 1 step equations, Godspeed mah dude!)
I'm 51 years old and even though it's been years since high school and college math I am getting them correct, but in my personal and professional life I have never needed to use algebra. Thankfully
Thank you so much!! I’ve missed two weeks off my 2nd trimester this 8th grade year and I had no idea how to solve these but you seriously help me out so much, I wish you the best in life!. Looking forward to learn more from you!
You distribute when you see parentheses, before you look for things with the same symbol and combine them, before you solve the damn problem. *SIMPLE, RIGHT*
I am watching this video becuase I am in quarantine and I left all my notes in my locker. I have this math packet that was mailed to me and it's due really soon and I forgot how to do multi step equations 😂💀
Edit: okay this is future me looking at my past comment: Wth how do your forget to do multi step equations? Oml they are literally the easiest thing to do in the world. Omg past me, you were stupid af.🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm homeschooled and my math book only says simplify with no other help this made me understand better. Thank you for the warmups it was a helpful reminder :) :) :) I liked+ sub cause u amazing
Thanks sir this helped alot now i know how to do this most helpful thing because this was the only thing i couldn’t understand 🤓🧐 Edit: subscribed keep up the good content
He did not solve the last problem with “y” on both side. Instructions were pause and work the problem. The last problem on the first page was not solved
@@alisonrosales3319 of course 2 months ago a had a benchmark which in my school is kinda like how stupid are you my dumbass self forgot you to do this so yeah it saved my life
Why is this stuff so hard? Why am i not learning? Im almost 40, had knowbody help me while i was young. This is crazy stuff. Im looking 6th grade Algebra and still cant fig it out....i feel like my 5th grade son is smarter than me....and he is....are you smarter than a 5th grader? Noooooppppeee!!!!
Coming from an 8th grader in Algebra 1, I learned this in 6th grade, forgot over the summer, then learned again in 7th grade. You forget things if you don't use them. For example, what good is 3(y+2)+y = -14 when you work at a job that doesn't use it. If you didn't learn when you were young that's the problem, when your young and want good grades you constantly use this math so you remember it. For me, all of my teachers don't teach the way that would be best for me. They explain stuff in ways that I don't understand. What I've found out is that you need a method of learning. I learn best visually. But I learn the process by doing. In other words, practice. I don't know how far you are at understanding, but I really hope this helps because while it may have not been as intense as your experience, I know what it's like to struggle learning new concepts, and sometimes it just needs to be re-explained in different words until it clicks. 3x + 3 = 24 You want the equation to look like x = a constant number. We are trying to find the value of x. So what does x multiply by, that you can add 3, to equal 24. We can do this by reversing the equation, let me show you. It's 3x + 3 = 24. Instead of 3x + 3 = 24, let's reverse the + 3, so we subtract 3. So we had 3x + 3, we want to take away the 3, so just subtract it, we are left with 3x. But, what we do to one side of the equation, we have to do to the other to make sure it's balanced. So, 3x + 3 = 24 - 3 - 3 3x = 21 Do you see how we did that? We want to isolate the variable. So the variable is equal to a constant. If we subtract 3 from the left side, we must subtract 3 from the right side to create balance. 3x = 21 So 3 times some number, (x) is = to 21. x = 7. This is because 3 * 7 = 21. To get more technical, do you remember how I said we have to balance both sides of the equation? So if we minus 3 on one side, we minus 3 on the other side too. This also applies to addition, multiplication, and division. So using math, 3x = 21 __ __ 3 3 We divided 3x by 3, so to keep it balanced we also have to divide 21 by 3. 3x into 3 different parts is just 1x, or x. ( 3x/3 ) 21 into 3 different parts is 7. ( 21/3 ) x = 7. __________________________________ So what if we have, x - 2 = 9 So we need to isolate the variable using reverse operations. So, x - 2 = 9 + 2 + 2 The opposite of subtraction is addition. So in, x - 2 = 9 We add 2, to both sides of the equation, -2 + 2 is 0, so we are left with just x, and 9 + 2 = 11 So x = 11 We got the variable by itself, and we got it to equal a constant number. __________________________________ What if we have, x + 2 - 4 + 8 - 1 = 40? It might look intimidating at first but its simple. We have two sides of the equation, x + 2 - 4 + 8 - 1 and 40 On the left side, you notice we have a bunch of numbers, these numbers are alike-terms. So we must need to do, x + 2 - 4 + 8 - 1, just like a regular math problem, but a + x at the end, or beginning. 2 - 4 + 8 - 1 = 5 But we also had an x at the beginning, so it's simply 5 + x, or x + 5. On the right side of the equation we had 40, so, x + 5 = 40 - 5 -5 x = 35 Do you see how it works. We just break the process down and learn each thing one at a time. How about, 3(x+8) - 2 = 7 We need to use what we call the distributive property of multiplication. This means that when we have a number before a set of parenthesis, we just multiply it by everything in the parenthesis. So, 3(x+8) is, 3*x + 3*8 3x + 24 3 times x, is just 3x. 3 times 8, is 24. Then we drop the parenthesis. So 3x + 24 is what we have, but we also have the rest of the equation, which is now, We just put 3x + 24 in 3(x + 8) spot in the equation because they are equal. 3x + 24 - 2 = 7 Remember what we did when we have alike-terms? 24 and - 2 are alike terms on the left side. So, 24 - 2 = 22. So, 3x + 22, and with the rest of the equation it becomes, 3x + 22 = 7 Notice how this problem now looks like our first one. We just isolate the variable, now. 3x + 22 = 7 - 22 -22 3x = -15 So we just divide 3x by 3, which is x. x = Then we divide -15 by 3, which is -5 x = -5 We can even check our answer if we weren't sure. Our equation was 3(x+8) - 2 = 7 We can plugin -5 for x and get. 3(-5+8) - 2 = 7 Inside the parenthesis we have like terms, so we combine them and get, 3(3) - 2 = 7 So we distribute the 3 to whats inside the parenthesis, and get 9, because 3*3=9 So 9 - 2 = 7. 7 = 7. If they were equal, then our answer is correct. __________________________________ Remember our alike-terms? -7, 5, 2, 9. There can also be alike-terms for things that have variables. 3x, 4x, -2x, 9x. These are also alike-terms, keep that in mind. So if we have an equation like 4(x + 2) + 3 - 2x = 15 First we distribute the 4 into everything inside the parenthesis. So, 4x + 8. We replace it, so, 4x + 8 + 3 - 2x = 15. We have two sets of alike-terms. We need to combine them. 4x and -2x. This is just 4x - 2x, so 2x. 8 and 3. This is just 8 + 3, so 11. 2x + 11 = 15 And, again, look how we simplified it and it looks like our beginning equation, you should know what we do from here (; 2x + 11 = 15 - 11 - 11 2x = 4 __ __ 2 2 x = 2. We can also check our answer, we just find every term that has x, and replace it with a 2. So if x = 2, and the equation is 4(x + 2) + 3 - 2x = 15 If we substituted every x for 2, it would look like. 4(2 + 2) + 3 - 4 = 15 16 + 3 - 4 = 15 19 - 4 = 15 15 = 15 So our answer is correct. *If you need more help or want to learn anything else in algebra, or you want something explained in a different way, just tell me.* I hope you have a good day.
The thing is... Teachers overcomplicate the math sometimes. That's why we always gotta go search it on youtube and its much easier. Jesus is King. Orthodox Christianity is the Truth. Pray to God and Mary. Have faith in Him. 2021 will be a good year. God bless g.
He didn't get 20, he got negative twenty. The fourteen is negative and when you subtract six from negative fourteen, you get negative twenty. If you are hear doing here learning multi-step equations and don't know how negative, consult a math teacher or a parent.
