Nice one! Thanks for making this. I knew the Delly could function this way, but only conceptually... it helps to see it in action in such a quick and straightforward way. This saved me **at least** one frustrating night of scratching my head and working it out for myself, and considering that the Deluge is all about immediacy for me, one night is a big deal. Cheers!

Once again, thank you. Was recording audio clips in song mode and clip mode and kept getting gaps when I used count in and sync'd it with my Subharmonicon clock. Saw that you weren't getting those gaps in the first few ms of the recording. Boom, figured it out, have to reset the Subharmonicon to start on the first note since it was starting mid-sequence. Starting to feel like I owe you a tuition for enrollment! Also learned I can record deeper in the timeline. Makes total sense now.

Ohhhkay .. I see. So this is really about starting in arrange mode instead of song mode, where this approach (not recording from song mode) avoids the problem of erasing what comes after your new recording. But you're still using clips and loops and buildng an arrangement. Very cool stuff.

First time recording audio into Arranger today. Managed to open the white clip audio in Clip view but now trying to put the clip in a different part of the Arranger timeline. edit - now got it into a clip in Song view, so I can place it on the Arranger timeline wherever I need.

While in song view, is it possible to record a clip with a synth indefinitely ? in other words, i'm trying to record a clip while i play the notes on the deluge, but the problem i run into is that if you don't set the length before hand the notes just start looping. is there a way around that, or would arranger mode be the best work around (because of how easy it is to setup longer tracks/clips)

Does "unarming" a track you just recorded on (before you record on your next track) deactivate the input monitoringas well?

I find that if I arm multiple tracks, and enable their recording input, the noise floor stacks up and it gets really noisy really fast. So I'll set a clip up but will only keep one clip with an active input source on (that's monitored).

I actually spend a good deal of time hunting down monitoring enabled tracks for the loud hiss they make especially when theres a few.

When I have some audiotracks on my pc, can I, after setting the correct bpm, import them somehow or do I have to record them individually like you do here? Thinking about my existing songs on pc and how to play them live and add stuff on the Deluge.

Yeah you can load in wav files. I don't cover that in this series, it's just using deluge as multitrack recorder. I don't use daw really, I just personally record the results from gear because I like how it sounds more

@@RonCavagnaro Thanks. Quick follow-up: when you stop the recording in the video, does the deluge quantize the audio clip length to the next bar or just stop wherever? I’m asking because I read another thread where somebody ran into problems because audio was being stretched after importing, but I guess this wouldn’t happen if I take care of tempi and clips lengths (exact measures). That person had audio files that probably didn’t end on full bars. He had reverb tails and wanted to keep them intact. I’m about to order a Deluge, but can’t determine if it works in the way I probably will be using it live.

Can you use omnishphere and other software synths on Deluge?

You can midi out to a daw that uses anything. But no not internally.

@@amaccoop34 I don't do daws anymore but yes it should be able to but the biggest problem would be to synch your daw to deluge. I use my daw only for end result stereo track.
