Thank you for this! I picked up The Well Planned Day on your suggestion…now to set it up! I’m a little intimidated to start but I think maybe planning a few weeks before trying to plan out a year is a good way to go

Oh yes! I never set plan out a full year. Just outlines quarterly and my resource pages for the year. The rest is week by week.

Thanks for this! I love all your planner reviews, but this flip through helped me figure out what to do with some of my pages! I have used the plum planner in the past and loved it, but decided to try to save money and use the simple plan planner this year. I kinda hate it. Too many example pages and not enough good planning pages. I may just need to switch, but I may just glue over the example pages like you suggested

At Walmart they have heatless laminating pouches. They are 4x6 inches and 5x7 inches I think there is also a full letter size I’m not sure haven’t bought that one. They work really good and sturdy. I use them to make closet hanger dividers and they hold up in there. I also had problems with a laminator😞

That’s cool! My laminator works really well. I just hate the act of doing it 😂 prep work is not my vibe.

Great video! I thought I was the only one with multiple planners going at the same time 🤣 I have both the EC and the minimalist planner. I like to see how you set yours up and am interested to find out which one is your workhorse! Are you also using the Oak Meadow planner? I purchased it after watching your video because I loved the simplicity and nature artwork. I might just use that one as my backwards planner and the one I keep after the school year since its so much thinner than the other ones.

I’m saving the OM one for another year since it’s an undated one and I had others set up already. I will have my complete planner lineup video this Thursday. I’ll go over all my planners together and which teacher planner won the race this year for me 😆

New to homeschooling and planners. I can’t decide if I’m overwhelmed by this or motivated. I normally LOVE organizing (my closet is color-coded and labeled beautifully) but the structure of homeschool planning (my son is middle school level) varies wildly making it hard to begin. I’m currently searching for curriculum and doing mapping on a weekly word doc calendar to test the waters but I wish I could see more curriculum beginnings and finding a happy medium between too much work and not enough work for students.

Nothing you see here is truly necessary. We all have our unique ways of planning. First is knowing your state laws or country. Starting there will give you a guide and ensure you’re compliant. Start with one subject, vs several at once. Use free resources when you first start and get your feet wet. You’ll find that you will be guided not only by your child’s learning style but by your teaching style. Deep breath, one step at a time and please know you don’t have to have it all figured out all at once. The amount of detail support you are seeking, I would suggest a homeschool consultation.

The smaller portfolios don’t have rings. I can see being able to remove it…but I have not put it to the test…that’s scary 😂 The mocha one is on sale the last time I checked.

Can you share your teaching strategies with dyslexic learners?

We used orton gillingham based curricula and multi sensory approach. We accommodated for the different seasons on whatever support she needed. It would be impossible for me to sum up years of work in a response here. Never hurts to consult a dyslexia specialist either.

On my igtv, I have a series of plan with me. It’s older, but gives you an idea on how I blend. I will talk more on it with future update videos and plan with me.
