Some clarifications. Willy, Medvedev was not talking about all the Ukrainian military, who are quite successfully surrendering. Medvedev was talking about a specific Azov unit that executed a prisoner. It was the complete elimination of units that committed war crimes that stopped the executions of prisoners and civilians, which were commonplace at the beginning of the war. In conditions where there are no means of monitoring compliance with standards, this is the only working method. The weather in Ukraine is very hot and dry right now. Most likely, there won't be much progress on the map. This has also worsened the situation with the energy sector in Ukraine. It is the shelling of settlements on the territory of Russia that convinces us that the creation of a buffer zone will continue.

I don't always agree with Willy but I respect the attempt of maintaining some objectivity. Probably the only pro-Ukrainian channel worth watching.

11:30 Six months Willy? Avdeevka fell almost 6m ago dude. I'd say RU has the initiative since the start of the battle for Bakhmut - so about a year and 8 months. And please don't tell me that the absolute blunder of the (counter)offensive ment that UA had the initiative at that time. It was stopped comicaly short of it's goal, and RU returned most of that territory while gaining important ground in other parts of the front - SIMULTANEOUSLY. It's OK to be on "team Ukraine" Willy. Peace agreement with Ukraine??? Why should be Russia interested in that? Ukraine has zero importance in the current scenario. Russia could be interested only in a "peace" with Nato, not with Ukraine. Who is this guy named Zelosky, Zetinsky, Zinentky or whatever?

Zelensky has painted himself into a corner. He promised the Ukrainians a return to the 1991 borders, because at the beggining of the war, due to the poor performance of the Russians at the time, he thought he could achieve that with the "space age" western weapons he was promised. After the filure of the Ukrainian counter offensive last year, it has become obvious that a return to the 1991 borders is simply impossible, and western weapons were not so "sapce age" as he was led to belive. Now he has no way out. He can not negotiate with the Russians because his remaining supporters will see that as a betrayal. He desperately needs SOMETHING to show for all this bloodshed, but he can not seem to get anything. Not even guarantees of NATO membership after the war.

Russia already said it wont be attending until Ukraine withdraws from the 4 oblasts.

It doesn't sound to me like Medvedev is talking about what the Russians should do, but more about the Ukrainian mentality towards the Russians

Russia is committed to demilitarize Ukraine as above, we like it or not. NATO defended itself against Afghanistan for nearly twenty years.

In the clip of the trench assault. I've never been an infantrymen, I've never been in that situation but I have studied war and tactics for 45 years. If you're in the heat of battle with a job to do and your life is at risk then there are things you can and can't do. Maybe you can't take prisoners. You certainly can't leave a combatant behind you to possibly shoot you in the back. You can't spend your time escorting prisoners to the rear. War is war. I am not fan of these Ukrainian militias, they aren't soldiers in my eyes so don't take it as such. I've heard things about them. As I said though, war is war. We are not ones to judge.

I have a lot of respect for you and your content, (I haven't finished the video yet) but I wanted to point out that International organizations having power over nations and to enforce laws isn't a good thing. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. These UN/ international governing authorities are themselves dangerous. I am an American citizen with rights guaranteed to me by my American constitution. The international courts gaining power would result in violations of rights. Furthermore, the problem with governments and power is that they always want more. Governments across the west have begun implementing hate speech laws, most European and western nations have banned firearms in any practical sense for their civilian population. They force things on their people that the people don't want (COVID lock-downs, co2 emissions laws, hate speech laws, and so on) even though they're allegedly democratic. It would be virtually impossible for an international government to not very rapidly divulge into a one world totalitarian state. Even if it was a democratic government it would for way too many people become tyrannical. I for one am terrified of that and while I don't want to see wounded soldiers blown up on my twitter feed I also don't want the UN thought police telling me that I am going to have to pay a fine for saying culturally insensitive things like widow burning is bad. I understand the desire for justice, I feel that too, but powerful International courts are too risky a solution for that problem (in my opinion).
