I had one that tried to tell me hes in the military. He wanted to marry me but he needed my help to get him out of the military to marry me, but he needed my driver's license and ssn. I told him he must be nuts and blocked him. They are pretty brazen.
I’ve dated men who didn’t make much money yet still never asked me for monetary favors! An ENGINEER at his big age shouldn’t need a dime. These ladies see what they want to see and choose to overlook the MANY RED FLAGS 😑
I was approached by the same man he called himself Adam. As soon as he told me He was from San Francisco and working in Syria as an engineer, I said good bye.
He's been msging me over nearly a year and he goes by the name of George Wilson living in san ramon CA and has a son called Mike aged 17 George is divorced from his wife when he caught her in bed with his best friend,he says he was now living in Scotland he asked me to accept money into my account, obviously i refused 🤨
Lol…. Did he say “ I’m originally from San Francisco California USA but currently working in Syria?” This guys photo appears on my words with friends a lot… he told me his wife was tragically killed too… I’ve reported this photo Atleast 3 times but it keeps reappearing under a new name like David Alexander or Frank Williams … Anyways your a smart girl! Good on ya!
I said the same 😂. At least the fake profile was more believable than a 20-something gay model with perfect hair stranded on an oil rig needing money to get his chest waxed. 😎😆🤣
When the scammer says hunny, my queen, etc that's Nigerian talking. Want your address want your bank account etc. Shut em down. Block and don't ever send 💰💰💰💰💰 or cards!!!
Scammer blueprint: They tell the woman she’s beautiful, even if she’s ugly and looks old enough to be their grandmother. They fall in love immediately. They are either a civil engineer (working in somewhere like Dubai) or they work on an oil rig, or they’re in the military. They’re a single father, usually with one child. There are various reasons why they can’t use a webcam. They have a lot of money, but for whatever reason they can’t access it. They are on their way “home” but something prevents this, which requires a lot of money - your money - to sort out.
Thé reason they believe them is the man is using a picture which makes them think he is their age or older so it’s natural for a man to say that because your telling him he’s handsome although he’s old too.
Nailed it! The only other thing I would add to your list is GOOGLE HANGOUTS… This script you mentioned is old as balls and it’s baffling to me women and men alike are falling for it. SMH
I too have been contacted by this same face, different name for several months. Have also seen him on WWF several times with different names. Blocked him!!
If men not have own photos, stolen anyone under his real name though soical media I found his match on his photos why different name from real name under his lawyer was on website and did lawyer suggested me before I catch him get upset .he not give up me back off . I cant do that cheating become HIV or other ... Nigeria is rules warning like it not allow for phone photography ect. Now we are friend 17 years ,(no sending money) because he told me he not want hurt to real dating I beleived his inside victim fault bad area Nigeria destroy real awful not allowing white people back home , need more white and African 200 million population . (Am deaf)
My boyfriend works overseas on a ship, and even though he does he get bad reception sometimes, he still finds ways to get around it, and we’re able to video chat fairly often. Huge red flag if they’re NEVER able to video chat.
As a general rule people shouldn’t be seeking to date online or otherwise if they are not in a position to meet in the near future. Following this rule would avoid most scams.
My now husband and I were halfway across the country from each other when we met online and still managed to meet about a month later. Months and even years go by without meeting? Nope. Scaaaaaam or recipe for heartbreak.
I had a scammer, Jouni Heremoana pretended to be from Samoa. despite being suspicious all along once he asked me for money I sent him this song (Shadow Boxer from Fiona Apple) he then blocked me. I have had many others since but if they won't video chat within one week I keep it moving. You have to make the experience not only a lesson learned but know that someone out there will feel that way about you. Just NEVER send money to anyone.....
Yes true very sadness but No good of Nigeria dont caring them stuffings, open the legs married or dating African woman . . Nigeria have no heart and open mind not like in USA good skills and friendly have good everything. Nigeria very poor giving them hell but too huge 💰💰💰💰 worked and working of the business. No one perfect win back to USA .(am deaf)
@@revekat2053a colonial past is the lamest excuse for gangs of thugs scamming elderly lonely people from other parts of the world. And the victims come in all races, backgrounds, shapes and forms. So that isn't even a valid excuse tbh
I've watched a couple dozen of these videos, and I still don't know how to rationalize the actions of these women, other than to say loneliness wreaks havoc on the brain, rendering it useless.
I had the same thought. I would love to hear a mental health professional weigh in on the disconnect with some of these older women thinking a 20 Something with abs is really interested. I get friend requests from scammers and once I see a young, well built man trying to chat me up I know the deal. How can they not see it??
@@isay207Exactly, well said. Some comments say these old women suffer from low self-esteem, I feel it's the exact opposite. Old men who behave like that are often called "dirty old men", maybe it's time to start calling these old grannies "dirty old women".
He with someone gave to him behalf tip because not have name own . Gift card without where location he at now🤷♀️ I spoken Gift card Co, not have prove in location can be scammer . Easy code number send to he is gone 😄 get enjoying ..give him punchment of sin !
I'm glad to hear both these ladies got away without much damage. $60 is a relatively cheap education. And it's thanks to sites like Social Catfish that people are becoming wiser at recognizing they're dealing with a scammer and not the real person behind the picture.
Nancy, that is a great tip! There is nothing wrong with talking to someone online. From our experience, it is best to try to establish trust in the beginning. One of the best ways to do this is by getting on a live video chat! - Breanne (socialcatfish.com)
Thank you for posting a video of people NOT behaving foolishly, not getting sucked into ridiculous scams; these women may have lost a few bucks, but, it's just a few bucks. This is a very pleasant change.
Thank you, Catfished, for what you do to help these victims, otherwise, they would not be convinced enough by friends and family to stop communicating with their scammer.
Respectfully, I’m shocked that his image is the most used. There are far better looking older men out there. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder!
Ladies, if the guy on-line checks off on all of your wish list items, he's most likely a scammer. Unless you want to give money unconditionally, then just don't send anyone money until you meet and talk to them IN PERSON. Don't give passwords, banking info. Give them NOTHING until you meet them and even then, always be on guard.
What is the opposite of loneliness? I don't know what it is but it's not automatically being in a relationship. Loneliness is a state of mind. You can be incredibly lonely in a bad relationship, but with friends and a purpose in your life, you can strive for something, and feel connected. Far too many women still feel that unless they are 'chosen' by a man they are not worthy in some way.
“I want you to have my child” …😂😂😂 honey, if *THAT* wasn’t the absolute *BIGGEST RED FLAG* 🚩 then I don’t what to tell you!!! RUN RUN RUN …I mean you’re both close to 70 years old if not older!😳
Sorry for the 1 year delay in responding but this video popped up today on my RU-vid. I thought the same way you did. She checked the other woman up and down and looked totally pissed. 😅
@@cherylween4973 Assumption since she does wear one at 1min01 on what look to me a facetime between her and scamfish. Making a joke on that because I don't see why when at home in front of your pc and camera you would need to wear one. Does she wore one when dating?
@@cherylween4973 Facetiming a scammer, or scamfish rep. You are still not in the same room as the others. I can agree she might have been facetiming from a starbuck?? But she looked alone in a room. It's not meant to be mean. I just find funny when I see people with mask alone in their car, or on facetime in their living room. Or the classic, the one that each time talks, put his mask on the chin, but put the mask on while alone. You go to love them. Don't you like irony? I sometime get caught in irony and laugh at myself with the other. And if you mean that it is because she was on scamfish, I mean they can blur faces.
The #1 sign of romance scammers and imposters is their unbreakable reluctance to speak to the victim on the phone. They know their game would be up and they would be found out immediately.
@@foxylibrarian1 -- I can assure you that, from personal experience, my romance scammer refused to speak with me over the phone. As a result, I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I knew exactly why he didn't want to speak with me on the phone: As soon as he'd say one word, I would know immediately that he wasn't who he claimed to be.
Mmm Mel. I have watched quite a few now where both parties spoke on the phone. And even deaf Freddie could hear an African accent.......yet none of these woman could tell the difference. These days you don't even need to be well-traveled to have an ear for accents, just watch any television show. Point is scammers we're pretending to be American or Italian nationality but speak in a Nigerian accent.
@@FARYCC --- Not the scammers who pretend to be a well-known person. They never call, because they know they would be found out right away and their game would be over. They only communicate with their mark by text or email. As for the other pests, they only win if the person they call is really "out to lunch." Sorry, but it's the only way I can describe those who fall for these phone scams. Everyone --- absolutely everyone ---- needs to remain alert and use their common sense at all times! If it sounds too good to be true, it's because it isn't true. If it doesn't quite compute or make sense, it's because it isn't logical and, therefore, it is not true.
If they date join a singles group at your local area in person stick to your own local area so at least you could go out or meet up for tea or something
when they call you "dear" its a scammer. I find these scammers so creepy actually. They must talk about sex to their victims - so these women are actually being sexual with complete strangers
I forgot about the “dear” … so true. I play words with friends with my husband and we always get the “ are you happily married with kids?” Or “ I’m originally from Dallas Texas USA but currently doing peace keeping mission in Syria”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( oh and my wife was killed tragically). SMH
If you wouldn''t trust an entity from online to take care of your pet or a small, vulnerable child who is beloved by you for just 5 hours, then, you will know they are unworthy of your trust. If the entity asks you for money, imagine they are asking to take care of your pet or the child you love, would you d it? If not, then, you have yur answer. Delete & block.
When a person says I love you, I want to marry you, not willing to FaceTime, and asking you for money, major red flag 🚩 Run 🏃♀️ as fast as you can. Block all conversations. Don’t be desperate and delusional.
Catfished ~ CHANGE YOUR TERMINOLOGY! These 2 women are NOT victims! A victim is powerless, helpless, taken by surprise after being stalked. They might be correctly identified as lonely, gullible, maybe a bit desperate. They would be more accurately described as "scammed person"" & "'scammer". A victim has no defense, no power at all. The information about romance scammers has been widely known for over 5 years. Believing the tactics & lies because you want them to be true is a huge mistake. Never believe words of someone you have never met in person. Even if you have met them in person as in face to face, real life not phone calls or video, NEVER give them money or other resources. NEVER.
It's bad enough that many people fall in love, or feel they are in love, then get their heart broken. Healing from a broken heart is devastating. Never send money...that's clue # one. Join a travel club instead and get out of your house and take a long walk.
I don’t give them my email or phone number, or bank info. That’s personal info,if they ask me to move to another chat. I simply tell them no. Don’t give them your occupation, lie about it. Remember this is your hard earned money, don’t be giving it to a random stranger you never met in person. Don’t tell them nothing about yourself or send any kind of photos
Unfortunately these women fall in love with a picture. These scammers always say they are successful people so my first question would be why would they need money from me. They always come up with excuses like they dont have access to their bank accounts , its always the same story but people fall for it . Be careful out there . Many are not aware that there are scams. I think that they should start programming these videos on Television so that it could be viewed by millions.
@@KelAZ1 im just played their games too,I found out that their targets are old woman,as long as they response to me I wont stop responsing to them too,I got some info about them also I found out that my scammers are not from nigeria they are from india trying to use my bank acct for money laundering and they are in one network
I would NEVER judge these victims. Its the scammers we need to judge and convict. I love that this channel exposes the truth about these scammers who pick on vulnerable men and women. The only sad thing is no one can trace and expose the monsters who scam
You won't get a conviction. Most Nigerians are linked to a world wide network of crime syndicates. The FBI knows who and where they are, but even they cannot catch them. The only way to slow them down, is to NOT send money (bad enough) or give them access to your bank account for money laundering purposes (the latter being beyond stupid).
It takes two to tango. A person can ask any question he or she chooses. If a stranger asks me for money, and I willingly believe what I am told and just send it over, then I bare the responsibility of my actions.
For the low, low price of EVERYTHING & THEN SOME, you will get HASSLED for EVERY DIME, with some sweet nothings sprinkled in. Sounds like a steal, huh??? 😂😂😂😂
These women should be volunteers at senior homes or join church groups and go out more maybe bingo Staying home on the dating sites only makes them easy prey for these disgusting scammers
i have volunteered plenty & lived my life-my way! now i'm retired & just wanna stay home. after high school i instantly went into party mood, & did so for 30 yrs. at least. my going out days are over. i'm 70 now & would like to ride my harley again. yet i'm pretty weak now. wanna be alone..
Am 83 and get these scammers all the time that want to go to messenger. Why does a 30 year old dude want to be “friends” with me? I do collect screenshots of scam surveys, etc. Sometimes I post them as warnings but my account doesn’t reach many people since FB deleted my account 3years ago and I haven’t been able to rebuild the hundreds of followers I once had.
These scamming victims are old, lonely, and vulnerable. If they would believe and trust their family and loved ones they wouldn’t be in this situation. They know they’re being scammed…..if they are asking YOU they already know it. I’m tired of women (and men) WANTING/WILLINGLY to lose their cash and homes because someone is txting them and they’ve NEVER seen them. After 10 years of this reporting I have Almost NO sympathy anymore.
I thought exactly that,I for one would have no interest in a man of any age who was posting selfies of any type far less the sexy ones very off putting.
The poor ladies. I have a gentleman here that has chosen to be homeless supposedly giving help to a homeless woman in Kenya that has been going on for a few years that is around $800.00 a month all through Western Union or through gift cards
Wouldn’t doubt if they’re trying to remember which person’s legit info they’re bootlegging! They probably tag multiple people in different age groups, male and female!
I am glad to see some folks have common sense. Any one can ask you any question he or she chooses online or in real life. In this case, the question is may I borrow money for…? It’s your choice if you say yes, and funds exchange hands.
