MultiVersus is a platform fighter that lets you team up with or against your friends using some of the world’s most iconic characters including Batman, Shaggy, Superman, Bugs Bunny & more. Use unique co-op abilities, find your favourite fighter combos and save the Multiverse!
MultiVersus is an upcoming free-to-play crossover fighting game developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game features various characters within the Warner Bros. Discovery catalogue. The title is scheduled for release in 2022 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The open beta for the game is set to be released in July 2022.

I’m really excited for when this game becomes available for everyone because I’m starting to get bored of Smash. Brawlhalla never kept my attention for more than a week and I’m not interested in the Nickelodeon fighting game. REALLY hope this game is good

I don’t understand why some people don’t accept it in the FGc. It’s a game, all you do is fight. What more do you need to qualify.

It’s somewhat about gate keeping, but it’s also about the skill set used in the game. Platform Fighters are VERY different from traditional fighting games in terms of what skills make you successful. So that alongside the fact that the devs keep emphasizing that Smash is not intended to be competitive probably contribute to the differences. Not saying I agree, just sharing some possible reasons.

@@zechariahcaraballo8765 I get that some things in a game would change it from a fighting game. Like for fortnight it’s a battle royal shooter. But for the platform fighters it’s a stage that has little movement room compared to other games that may fall into the catagory but don’t cause of other features. Like monster hunter, or evil dead. I just figured even labeled as a platform fighter since it still has the basics of sided scroller combat with a twist it would fit, (twist being movement is more important than games like tekken and street fighter). Especially since even arena fighters qualify like the storm series or Demon slayer.

This game is a team focused for sure. There are a lot of abilities that characters have that support your team mates, some offensive, some defensive, some characters have more than others, hence the roles. In fact there is going to be a Multiversus 2v2 tournament at EVO with a 100,000$ prize pool hosted by WB as a side thing to the main events. Also, perks will be allowed in ranked and competitive.

To be fair, Warner Bros. owns Netherrealm, so they have experience with publishing fighting games, and I think they've been involved in esports for MK and Injustice but I'm not 100 on that. The studio making MultiVersus is pretty much brand new, but they have multiple people who've worked on LoL in the past so I feel that does a lot for explaining things like the focus on 2v2, the perk system, and assigning characters into archetypes. Also I'm guessing bot matches still require online because it's an alpha and the devs want as much data as they can get. That or the whole game is just going to be always online.

If I’m not mistaken, bruisers are not mainly short range, they’re characterized for building damage but not having many finishing moves

Yeah. If I'm not mistaken, assassins are the opposite. Good finishing moves, but not as good in building damage as bruisers.

"Training Perks" doesn't level them up, it allows you to gain perks that aren't normally on that character.

So it works similar to Dead by Daylight right? In Dead by Daylight there are teachable perks which you can obtain at lvl 30/35/40 and when you unlock them you have them on every single character.

There's a multiversus wiki via Fandom, can you add a little bit of info there? so far only the special perks was listed there. I was't able to play during the alpha, so not all can absorb info from the alpha .

3:28 training perks just allows you to have perks that don’t come with that character’s original unlocks, they become stronger when both you and your teammate have the same ones

@@tray_house Kind of, stances are just slight tweaks to the characters stats. While a lot of perks are just stat buffs, some of them change some elements of gameplay, like recovering jumps after hitting an enemy and such.

normally fighting games, just have characters that look different but are just reskins of smash characters, multiversus is making unique original movesets, inspired from smash not copied and that means that this game can be incredible

@@christpierre I agree, some aspects are similiar to that of smash, but they also innovated in a lot of aspects, No one in smash that I can think of has a move like batman's side special, or finn's shop. we are soon to enter the era of innovation for games such as smash

Played this game that past days and I gotta say I love it. I really like how unlike in brawlhalla, the characters are really unique. I play velma because it's a character that differs so much from anything in brawlhalla. And not trynna flex (defenetly trying to flex) I got into the top 500 players and beat MegD :)

Watching this gameplay while being the Top 3 Jake in Multiversus put a smile on my face, honestly it's a really enjoyable game, I've played alot of fighting games in my time, traditional and platform, but I've been having alot of fun with this game, while I've been getting tired of games like Tekken and Brawl, this game just brought alot of mechanics and content for me to play, and it's been amazing so far even if it's just in Alpha, thanks for making this video I enjoyed it

@@BR-tt1wy you go to collection, go to your character, and it shows you what rank you are with the character, or you go to the top left/your profile, and you can see your rank in 1's and 2's, even if there's no ranked, people are still ranked worldwide, with or without character, I am a top 3 Jake and top 50 in 1v1's, it's really not that hard to see big man lol

I played this in the closed alpha as a Finn player and got top 105 :D , the game is really fun for 2v2s and 1v1s and I can't wait for it to out for everyone because this game has so much potential and it being crossplay and free means the community for it will be really active :)

I feel like this is a reboot of Cartoon Network punch out explosion, since that game failed back in 2011 meanwhile now having smash ultimate, brawlhalla, and nick all stars are big fighting crossovers games and we’re living in a era where crossovers is the big thing right now, so it’s makes sense for Warner brothers to have a crossovers fighting game.

There’s so much about MultiVersus that I love, and I also think that it does certain things a lot better than in Brawlhalla. The movesets feel authentic to the source material, everything feels like a giant homage to the original works, and the movesets aren’t just copied and pasted from other fighters. I also really like the team synergy gimmicks.

I genuinly think Brawlhalla vs Multiversus has a great similarity, not only with the range of characters, but they both are free. I'm quite excited for this game coming out soon. this game has great potential, it seems a lot of people have their eyes on it, since it has so many loved characters and quite a large budget. especially those who want to play Smash Bros from the nintendo switch but do not own that system. I think this game will have a large audience and really could get competitive down the line. curious to see what other characters will be in the game (Also, if you're reading this, do you think they should add a story? so you understand Multiversus more, and know what the characters are and understand the controls more?)

For some reason I still think Brawlhalla's gameplay feels more fast and fluid. This game somehow feels sluggish as if I'm playing in slow motion, but it implements things we've begged bmg since the stone age. If only there's a game that has the good points from both games....

What annoys me about Brawlhalla's 2v2 is how much it encounrages bullying a single player, your attacks are easily interrupted by the other person, nothing discourages stacking both players and the respawn is so slow it gives them a window to kill your teammate without repercusions.

I played the game this 3 days and i must say the only real downside are the missions for completing the battlepass. They actually stops you from playing what you want and how you want because you have to "play as a mage character" or "get 40 assists", those type of missions don't get completed naturally and forces you to play what you don't want to. The grind will kill this game.

If you read what "perk training" does, it allows you to use coins to buy new perks for your character. Since each character only gets a few perks normally, using perk training allows you to get perks that don't normally come with your character.

I personally love this game, the characters, the abilities and the voicelines make it so much better. The unique abilities for each character make the game more competitve. The fact that they also have a "Decayed Attack" system to prevent spamming the same move also makes the game more enjoyable. I'd give Multiversus a solid 8/10, and it's not even fully completed yet. We're getting Rick and Morty, Daffy Duck, Possibly gumball. There are so many possibilities for future nostalgic cartoon characters.

I think the online vs bots might be like for honor they have a 4v4 option where it’s 4 real people on your team vs 4 bots would be nice to get to learn combos and choreography with a teammate
