So quick thing for Garnets up special once you use the projectile it turns into a different move kinda like her up smash except it's a clap idk if it does more or less damage comparatively but vs charge I feel very confident it sends up farther than her up smash

Hey man, Garnet’s my most used character and my number 1 tip for people that wanna get good with her is, always try to get your opponent in the air, do this with down attack, up air, up attack, down-b grab above, etc. This is my main way of getting ringouts with Garnet off the top of the map, because once they’re in the air you can Up-B them (Y’know the t-pose move?) Idk why but this kills really with Garnet, if you already know this then awesome

@@Kizunoto On playstation the T-pose thing is done when you are in the air by holding up and triangle. You can charge it by holding the triangle for longer I think. I would recommend reading her controls from the collection sections and trying this out in the lap before the match.

If you do her up special when it’s on cool down she does an over head clap that you can combo into. It can kill at 90%. Her forward special is controllable and her up special can be charged.

Awesome guide thank you! Totally forgot about redirecting the last hits of her attack combo. I might have missed it in the video, but much like her side-special, Garnet's up-special also has an alternate ground version when it's on CD where she does a powerful clap above her head.

Garnet main here, didn't know that giving the ally the marker gave them their air options back, that's pretty big to learn lol. Love the character though, feels very powerful, and has just enough armor to feel like a real brawler.

You forgot a very significant attack in using her grounded up special while on cool down. It gives her access to what is essentially a viking clap that is actually a really good kill option.

The problem with Garnet is that she doesn’t feel responsive at all. All of her main attacks have a ton of buildup and no armour to stop you from getting stunned. Not to mention that for some reason characters way lighter than her seem to have a higher priority when they attack compared to her which leads to their attacks overriding Garnet’s. I really want to learn her but I don’t think she is that viable or fun to play as as she could be. With the new hitboxes she became a lot harder to land attacks with as well.

@@onestep 100%. Tbh all I think she needs is hitstun resist on her charged attacks if you charge more than 30% and take it away from her side melee for balance. For a “Recommended” character she feels too hard to play compared to the likes of Shaggy. Not saying the complexity should be taken away at all, just that she should be properly categorised so newcomers don’t waste their gold to be stuck with a character they will 100% need a guide to start playing somewhat effectively.

This is my first platform brawler/fighter? Not even sure the exact name of the genre, but I am having a lot of fun playing it and I am maining Garnet! The only trouble I'm having is spiking or down air I believe it's called. I never seem to be able to hit people or I just fly over them, and if they down air or spike me it's like they are auto locked onto me. Kind of frustrating.

her recovery frames arnt amazing, so as soon as she missed a hit, go in for your own combo, its all about reading your opponent. keep up the practice, you got this!🔥

funny how shes really not that good, yet she counters iron giant like hell. all her normals with that massive range just slams iron giant its hilarious. also if you use her side normal 1, her up and down normals change too! at least if you use it at the same time youd normally do side normal 2

@@onestep shes super fun! and i love how much pure power her normals make me feel. even if i only land 3 or 4 normals, i feel like ive racked up tons of damage, they just feel so nice to land
