The beta was super easy. By the time you mastered a character, you had enough gold for the next. I blasted through in my first days then just kept up with each new character
It wasn't even hard to unlock characters in the beta unless you're mentally disabled. All you had to do was play the game and get enough coins to buy them which usually takes an hour or two
Some games the opponent dodged everything but you are delayed so much that they can win it because of the servers easy . Yeah I have installed and reinstalled the game like 10 times now . After the 11th I decided that iis it for me . I'm done
I honestly haven't come across many disconnects or errors in game. Though the reason might be because I 1. Have a good internet connection & 2. On PC with crossplay turned off since I see PC as being a tougher challenge and better to practice on. I have two friends though who experience disconnects constantly. One is on PC with a below average connection and the other is on PS5 with the best internet plan out of all of us.
I think a huge major issue is the fact that this is a fighting game with micro transactions. As once the meta shapes up, you'll have to either grind out or buy out the strongest pick, or else you may be in trouble. And then, if a character ends up being so good they're broken, everyone will likely get them, before that character is probably nerfed into the ground for game health. Which could retroactively make a purchase worthless. I see that happening many times throughout the life path and it will be messy as fuck
They'll just pull the Clash Royale monetization scheme, where they add a Card (Character in this case), Make it absolutely overpowered, then Massively nerf it to balance, rinse and repeat.
In terms of Steven not being voiced by Zach Callison, the guy has vanished from the limelight entirely, so I think it was his choice. He isn't contractually obligated.
The game is entirely different from Beta to Launch, like every core mechanic has been changed for the worse. The Menu's are infinitely more confusing. The new version of the games engine is so much slower than the game's old engine, to the point where It's like I bought super smash bros melee and they gave me smash 4, I mean they added 30 frames of input buffer which is SO disgusting. They removed almost every quality of life feature (Being able to swap characters, skills and etc AFTER queuing but BEFORE playing) The new skill set system is SO ASS compared to this because you can't change what perks you have based on the matchup and are forced into a certain playstyle BEFORE knowing who you're against. by doing this they essentially REMOVED counter-picking online. They nerfed and buffed characters so inconsistently it's crazy. Banana Guard is one of the most unbalanced characters in any platform fighter I have ever seen, you can neutral b and then kill somebody center stage at 70% with an easily spammable fair or side b, but they won't buff Velma's godawful "Call the cops" which has literally SAVED MY OPPONENTS LIVES BEFORE LMAO. They advertised this game as a 2v2 game but the 2v2 mode barely works right now because the servers are so ass, and that isn't even mentioning that the new game system and the 30 frames of input delay makes it so that coordination is infinitely harder to do (IE: I hit a side attack sorry and now I have to do a 3 input animation where I'm stuck on the ground for a minimum of 120 frames I'll go fuck myself) The grind is ridiculous comparatively to the beta. I played for 80 hours in the beta (A lot I know) and managed to unlock every single character in the game as well as have enough to unlock any new character that came out. If I were to put an equivalent amount of time into the actual release I would have 6 characters not including the free rotation. Perks are infinitely more expensive and the way to get the currency for them is way worse. You level a character and get "Perk currency" but in the old version you used to get perk currency for just playing matches, and leveling a character would give them cosmetics and character specific badges (IE: shaggy knockouts) The battle pass can mainly be progressed through missions and events. You still earn basically no battle pass XP through gameplay compared to the beta and there's NOT ENOUGH QUESTS on a daily basis. You complete your dailies in 3-6 games depending on if you need to play bot games or not and then are incentivized to not play for 24 hours. All in all as a game, this is a complete design nightmare. But as a soulless cash grab, it checks all the boxes.
I also don't see enough people talking about how UNPLAYABLE the pvp is for some people, (me included) getting constantly disconnected from matches and low fps.
Fun fact, Everytime I try to talk about how terrible this game turned into a grinding, greedy, waste of time trash. I just get my comments deleted, reported, or bullied because no one wants to admit they're playing a gotcha game on a console. I've never quit a game quicker than when I saw rifts....all of them required to get agent smith... FUCK THAT! Not to mention how you no longer earn ANY currency just playing the game, only if you do the rifts.

It was running on Unreal Engine 4 before, now it is running on Unreal Engine 5. It's honestly a dumb move given the game literally did not benefit in any way from it and it just took more resources.
It's a really sad state for the game, i fell the bones are really solid and fun, but everything else is elbow deep covered in bullshit, player first games do look like a competent and passionate game developer but Multiversus is really lackluster. I could buy the explanation that all that is wrong is WB's fault, but in the end of the day, the playerbase and the game will die all the same. They had one shot to have a comeback and i think they fumbled it, even if they take the player base feedback and correct a lot of the things people are complaining about, i think it's too late, the game market moves in strides and the interest for this game might be far gone by now.
Thinking about how much better this game would be if it didn’t have all the trappings of a F2P game and just cost like 40 dollars upfront, with paid DLC characters keeping the game alive.
Honestly this game would be somewhat ok if the movement wasn't gutted so much. In the beta everything felt responsive, you could probably do nice and snappy combos and it felt good overall. Now it feels like every character is playing with space gravity and just overall clunky. move come out unnaturally slow and it just feels like im playing with 7 frames of delay even offline with just how awful it feels
Fr happy someone put it into words, i played so many hours in beta on bugs and was so hyped when the games was coming back just to play and be whiffing attacks because the movement straight up feels like constant input lag
this game has one of the most unbalanced cast of characters of all time. me and my buddy decided to run double banana guard yesterday and literally didn’t drop a single game. some characters are completely braindead easy and then somehow others are borderline unusable.
I think they really should have made it so you have to pay forty or fifty dollars for the full game but the grind isn't insulting, but if you wanna play the game without paying anything, you can, but then you get the current motto you have right now. Personally I already have all the characters and most of the skins that I want, so I all of this greedy stuff does not affect me, but it affects so many other people and I still think it's a major issue.
Honestly this game shouldn't be live service and should of been payed and all characters avable off line with free characters added so we end up getting a amazing offline game

MultiVersus has been dead to me ever since Warner Bros. decided to axe the modding scene and start sending out DMCAs so that everyone knew that their mods breaking wasn't a coincidence. Also, what the hell happened to Free-for-All?
DMCAing mods for your game somewhat kills your game in a sense. It shows how little fun you can have in this game. And plus the mods were just changing a characters skin to resemble another character. And PFG decided to DMCA it? Not even Nintendo does that shit 😭

I think it's time that we are honest with ourselves. This game will never be successful because of WB's insane greed. After one year of development, all they did was remove things and increase the grind.....im a fighting game. We need to just let it die so it can finally rest instead of being a walking corpse.
It might just be me, but the animations seem kinda… stiff? Like I look at the models as they get hit, and they just look weird. I don’t know the right words, but from the all the videos I’ve seen of MV, it looks off.

They didn't "bite the bullet" they had to be working in that character for at least 2 months before the reveal was done, so no, it is impossible for them to make a reveal like that in less than a month, even if it was a joke character like banana guard
$155 to have the ability to play as every character? Yeah, tournaments are not happening, which means this game just won't have a competitive scene. Competitive players are potentially the ones that would play the most so this game being so hostile to them makes no sense even from a business perspective.
A fighting game that locks 90% of its roster with obtaining that roster for free taking tens of hours (or more). A fighting game like that doesn't have my support.

Let dreams be dreams i guess cuz multyversus locked them , and its always online wich breaks even more the local players I have unlocked 1 CHARACTER SINCE LAUNCH , and managed to rack up enough to buy 1 more ... i cant decide on who i want because the tokens are so scarse that i feel scared to spend the currency Honestly i had hope it would get better because i loved the game , now i just want it do die soon so i can play offline localy with all characters unlocked Its sad to say but its true , the game is fun but there are some major problems that make pvp not fun for me and it kinda sucks to play ... wasted potential imo

The reason you are "floating" is because it has an unmitigable buffer of **30 FRAMES**. Everything you do is so underwater you might as well be actually drowning in the debt you enter for hitting a button.
It's still insane to me that they ended up making a slower, boring, more greedy version of brawlhall and somehow made it even worse after an entire year of consideration.
I feel like it's not terrible to unlock character. I've put like 8 intentional hours in and unlocked 4 characters. Banana guard wonderwoman and shaggy is a sick blend of pretty much everything but the mage style. Play the rifts with the boxes first, replay those if youve already done them, and use them to cheese the challenges as well. Then play some online 1's and 2's with your favorite characters. All together its like 1-2 hours a day, 1 hour reccomended. You'll crush through the batman vs joker ones, finish a rift, knock out the dailies and a weekly or 2. Dailies refresh, rift bonuses refresh daily. Boom. You have a character like every 3 days.
This must be a gen alpha because I expected to hear the Batman animated series theme from the 90s which is absolutely legendary, but when he played something else I was like what the heck is that I’ve never seen that show 🤣🦔

Guys it's just a ftp smash clone for kids. They never intended this to be a hardcorw esport. It probably won't last very long. If this was 2012 it would have been a 3ds/console game.
Even if they did the smash thing of having you fight character after a match and if you won you'd get them,I'd be fine with but having the pay so much for a single character and if you had that character in the beta they could get locked away from you is crazy, I don't really care for the slower pace either,The rifts feel both pointless and Like your not going anywhere or getting anything you'd want unless you played them but again they are so empty and monotonous that there's no real incentive to do anything with them. Me and my bro were playing together and even though he says Giant was pretty normal, I didn't think so he was chaining grabs and dash attacks into each other ,the super armor, and everything in between felt unfair but he played only giant so much he doesn't see the problems with him,problems the game devs themselves don't have an answer for yet. Basically: Balancing problems, over pricing and under rewarding play,and Unnecessary changes are the things I feel are holding it back most but I'm open to accept other opinions on this matter

The fact that I come back to the game only for my fucking character to have a losing matchup to all but 2 characters and one of those had a glitch if I got grabbed by the command grab character made me hate it. I miss the old game
You never need to play some game if it releases on beta fyi... Never. Spend. Money. On. Any. Game. That. Is. In. It's. Beta. Stage! It's in beta and spending money on any available shops or support packs is a greedy way for the company to take money from you to put into their game development. You'll get hit ot miss results depending on the game and company when it fully releases (but we all know that it's mostly miss). I never played this game at beta either and I'm glad I didn't because I could see from a mike away already that it would flop and guess what's happening to it now? Hopefully they take these issues, fix or patch them so the game can last another year or so lol.
Steven's VA stepped away from the spot light for his mental health years back and has sparsely been online ever since. I'm assuming that's the same reason he didn't return to voice Steven. Backed up by how he said the final season (what I call Future) hit extremely close to home for him. I hope he's doing alright.
I played in Open Beta from day 1 until a few weeks before it went offline. I tried the full release and I promptly uninstalled it after about 5 days. It's garbage. I started getting into 2D fighters more since SF6 came out and I've been enjoying those much more than Smash and other platform fighters recently. In fact, if anyone's interested in another 2V2 game; theres this new multi-lane 2v2 fighting game called Diesel Legacy and the controls are relatively simple and it's really easy to jump into, and there's a demo available for free from 6-10 to 6-17.
(Sorry for ranting) Considering I played in the open beta... there was a lot of things missing that made MultiVersus... MultiVersus. Let me give some examples of what I mean that are missing. Rematch screens (loss of comical flair) Arcade Mode (replaced with Rifts, the most bullcrap and scamming mode ever) ATK Decay (Spamming a move = significantly less effect. This was the best part about this game.) It also feels like the game is even more bare-bones than what it was. Tutorial? What tutorial? You only learn how to move and do a basic punch, and that's it. Campaign? What campaign? Oh, you mean Rifts? All it is it's just a jumbled up plot. (Spoiler alert warning) Since when could Reindog speak English? HUH?! EXCUSE ME??? We only hear him bark and growl in the game! Not to mention the "Toasty" character featured in the 4th rift. Nowhere in the game did it ever bring that up. Not to mention the cool screen effects featured in Jason's and the 4th rift. These screen effects only lasted for two to three levels. The techno one only lasting for THE ENDING OF A MATCH, AND THE NEXT ONE. ALSO, IT FEATURES "THE WATCHTOWER" AS A PLAYABLE MAP IN THE RIFT, BUT NOWHERE DOES IT LET YOU PLAY SAID MAP OUTSIDE OF THE RIFT. WHAT IS THE POINT OF IT THEN?! WHAT'S THE POINT OF RIFTS?! THERE IS -100 PERCENT- NO STORY INVOLVED. and are we not gonna talk about how crappy the missions are? If you wanted to collect a Rift Cauldron, you won't be able to, Because EVERY FINAL MISSION REQUIRES YOU TO PLAY IT WITH A FRIEND. I KID YOU NOT. AT THIS RATE, GO PLAY SUPER SMASH BROS. THERE'S NO SCUMMY ACTION INVOLVED THERE!!!

I want to get this game a chance but they took everything from me when I got one after the servers came back I had the first battle pass I mean the preseason I had a bunch of the characters I only spent $5 on the game but I don't want to play a game that doesn't give me my $5 back
I dont get why they made the game slow. Only reason why we complained about speed was cause of the broken characters. Like superman who had way too many ways to kill in 1 to 2 hits. These characters were so strong that the speed of the game made them more busted. Limiting the amount of dodges and nerfing the character would have been the better move than slowing combat
9:40 as someone who did play the beta the moment i booted up this one for the first time i noticed that i felt like my inputs lagged behind severaly and my main (shaggy) just felt like he suddenly was a super cluncky super slow fighter.
As so someone who has not played multiverses, even i know the perk currency should not exist and perks shpuld be earned by leveling up your fighters like how brawlhalla. It really sucks anything wb related is nowadays tainted by the higherups greed.
So basically, the live service model is its biggest flaw, dont understand why people touch dog shit like this, elden ring is 50 bucks most time, and if you want a good fighting game, hell even nick all stars 2 is better than this.
I just use training mode. Cuz in training mode, all the characters are free. And even if i had money, the only thing i would buy is jason. Cuz hes the only reason why i play the game.
Honestly I think what they’ve done with the full release is actually solid. The network error crashes are annoying, but you can expect it to be fixed. Otherwise the currency, battle pass and other stuff is actually understandable and I’ve had no problem unlocking characters.
@What14739 ik, all I can notice is I'm a tiny bit less floaty then I was before, but I'm REALLY hoping all of this feedback and huge outrage about the movement speed will get them to change it, because they are very well in depth with the community so it seems likely
So I’ve played both versions since release, those versions being the beta and the full release and I will say, I am super disappointed in the game. The NetCode is AWFUL for me. They dropped an update a few days ago, which honestly made the game for me borderline unplayable. I’m sitting at 30 FPS max, and when someone is doing a decent combo, or is spamming attacks, everything just breaks. I’m in the main menu and I want to see all my account cosmetics? Game crashes every time I change the tab. Oh I want to play with my friends in a custom game, I’m sure that’ll fix the…oh wait. I can’t select which server I want to be in. So I can’t escape the lag regardless. With that being said, the game really rewards you for brainless, spammy combos rather then being strategic and thoughtful. There’s no real punishment for spamming moves, only the dodges with the new stamina meter they implemented. I don’t mind the game being slower, but I swear the hit boxes for all the characters got touched up too. Me, playing as a brawler, I shouldn’t LEGIT have to be in their face in order to do one little 2 piece before they dodge out of range just to punish me. Skill issue? Yes. But does the animation of my attack go through people sometimes even though I SHOULD be close enough? Also yes. I really wish I could say I have high hopes for this game, yet it’s just another one of those games that a big company realized how much money they can make off of it, and is banking on that, rather then actually making the game fun. To this day, I will still say. Any game that performs, and does WORSE then an actual BETA that arguably should be in a worse state then the full release game, shouldn’t be a game in general
I was expecting one character and one bonus character, instead we got 3 character and one bonus, and a bunch of new map really cool btw, a ton of new skin, for exemple the best one for me, the batman who laugh skin which is almost a complete new character ! And he's incredible, but i agree about all the money in the game, i think 3 would be better, one for solo, one for multiplayer and one for the shop, the music are good and catchy so i don't see the problem about making him better, for the menu i agree it's not good, not at the level of pubg and similar one but still bad, the gameplay is better than before, less random and more fun the game is slitly more pretty than before and the height of character have been up by 20% so hitboxes are better than before, the server are not solid enough for a versus fighting, and i think there is not enough character from différent licence, like why so much loobry toons character ? I think for those kind of universe 3 is the maximum, but for dc character i understand why more, they are really different in her own comics like how different are looney toons and adventure Time for exemple
