This game will never be re-released 😢. Like so many live services, this is just a nice way to let us know it's shutting down for good. WB cancels way too many projects for them to "pause" this game and continue active development behind the scenes.

This game needs local multiplayer. It cannot live up to its potential without it.

if you divide 2024 into 3 equal parts, early 2024, mid 2024 and late 2024 it would be 12 months divided by 3 which equals 4 which means early 2024 would include january, february, march and april

This seems like a great move. Taking in feedback, taking your time with content, and not letting the game stagnate in the beta content state while you prepare for ironing out an official release is great. I am especially excited at the notion that there IS an offline mode expected in the interim; part of my worry for the game was longevity because of its server connection dependency even for offline mode, so glad this is being addressed and implemented.

Make it available in Asia this time. We have been waiting FOREVER.

Glad to see that MVS isn’t going to close its’ doors for good. Of course, this is temporary but I suppose it’s what’s best for you guys. I wish the team a big good luck on delivering a fresh new experience for MultiVersus in due time. You know what they say, hopefully it would’ve been worth the wait. Watching this again on January 5th of 2024. I am still constantly waiting for this game to re-release. I have seen a lot of other news lately for example the McDonald's one. This is incredibly MultiVersus! Keep up the awesome work and I really can not wait to see what the game will look like very soon.

I still believe the open beta launched way too early; should've stayed as closed beta for at least 6 more months. That really killed the initial excitement of the playerbase because of a lot of technical issues, mostly notably character balance and broken hitboxes. Given the fact the competitive scene was being pushed with the game on beta, as well microtransactions, a lot of players believed the game was pretty much out already. I love the game, but Season 2 really killed all my excitement for it. I really hope these next months until the 2024 release help polish the game and bring back the playerbase. Tony and the team are super dedicated and talented, and it baffles me Warner Bros. isn't providing them a larger budget and expanding the team, because MultiVersus has everything in its advantage to become a really good platform fighter.

Here's hoping we get some villains in the release cadence after release. I know LotR content got yanked before we saw it, but damn I would have loved Sauron.

They are FINALLY moving out of Beta, and fixing the issues. I am hoping this isn't the end of Multiversus and come back stronger than ever.

i'm glad they are doing something and not just closing the game down. i felt bad for people who paid for the founder pack with 30 character unlocks when there aren't even 30 characters in the game to unlock

This game has been a part of my life ever since I first got it. An amazing game filled with wonderful characters, some really fun gameplay, and the people who worked on this game has put a LOT of love into this. I really can't wait to see more of this game in the future, and I'm wishing the people from Warner Bros. and Player 1st Games all the best with this game! ❤️

Smart decision on pausing the game for a while so you can focus on the issues the beta had, i'll look foward to see new characters like Mordecai and Rigby, Daffy duck, Scooby Doo, more cartoon network characters , getting a new voice actor for Rick and Morty and new modes in the future, i havent play the game yet since i'm still waiting if it comes for the switch.

Well, interesting. Basically a relaunch and second shot at it. Probably the right move, just not sure people are going to still be interested in 2024. Might depend on the content at launch.

This is the news that shocked and relief me, but do hope this game can at least do better for next year. I had fun playing this game, but tough to grind when getting some cosmetics or would’ve been differently.

Honestly for the best, the devs knew what they were doing wrong and they will hopefully fix those problems come 2024. Rather have this then no word or update at all.

I just hope when the game is full release they include two things: A story mode for people, like me, who largely play offline (Simply cause I don't have online access), and a physical copy of the game. Yeah, I'll have to spend money to buy the game through physical copy, but I'm fine with that since I'd rather have physical copies of games then downloading

One thing I hope is that they bring the game over to the switch for the nintendo boys so that everyone with a gaming system can access and enjoy the game. Other than that Im exited for the relaunch next year. Yeah its gonna suck not being able to play online after June 25th but I and I hope others understand that this is the best way to go. Expensive situation but if u can come out of this successful, you will have found the golden key and change the gaming industry. (People don’t realize how hard this is to crack and how pivotal if they do). I’m not sure if a bunch amount of content is the permanent solution. I compare it a bit to renting a movie: the kid wants everything in his power to see the news release and make it the most important thing…..but in reality, they are just young and don’t realize how little time it will actually satisfy them for. Truly, what brings them the most fun is how they interact with others regarding it. That’s what makes it last forever and I agree with figuring out how to deepen that in this video. I can’t wait!

This entire time it was a beta? We were in season 2 and they are closing it and we have to wait a year?? I feel like this is just an excuse for the game falling off, I am hoping it will improve at “launch” but I’m confused why we need to wait so much longer.

It's crazy to me that some people are only just now realizing with this announcement that the game was in open beta, it told you every time you opened the game, like cmon anyways I'm glad this is how its going forward, just shut it down and put your head down to work, here's rooting for that big release in 2024!

these comments are really positive considering at least 90-95% of players hate it, i can't wait for the official launch, I've spent a decent amount on the game, I'm glad they're not shutting down even if most of the player base left. Surprised this actually was an open beta and not just a quiet release. I stopped playing multiversus due to balancing of characters, hard grind as a free player, disappointment in the ranked mode, poor quality of online matches, not very good custom rooms, and some other personal distaste for characters. I probably won't get back on the open beta but I am looking forward to playing the full release!

Don't remember you guys ever calling this an "Open Beta" but I digress. Hopefully you guys rethink the game & make it better. I'd personally like to see a larger variety of attacks, similar to Smash. What was on offer got very stale pretty quickly.

I hope they take community feedback into account, because there were far too many nerfs to old characters, while releasing borderline broken new characters

I'm glad they are working on the game but isn't it a lie to say the game was in an "open beta" state or am I crazy? They were literally on season 2 and store page does not indicate this game was in beta...

"we are taking away the stuff you paid for but we might give it back in the future"

Next year I bet the graphics is going on to be even better
