They should honestly completely rework him to fit the mage category better. He doesn't fit as an assassin so he's like an awkward mix of a bad mage and a useless assassin

As someone who plans on maining marvin i think once marvin gets some buffs he’s gonna become atleast high a his map control is really good

As I’ve played more Marvin I have come to the conclusion that he is a somewhat decent low tier. His animations are a bit funky and for an assassin he is unbelievable slow and his kill power is mediocre to say the least but I do enjoy playing because once you hit a combo despite it not killing feels amazing

as someone who has played garnet, literally trying to hit most character who keeps dodging and moving platforms is so hard. A shaggy stalled me for 2 minutes just by doing that. Its either skill issue on my part or because garnet doesn't have that much to catch up

Marvin is easier to kill than Arya

Most people completely do not understand how to use Marvin. Once you do, you can understand by only him being a little bit more powerful, he could become the best in the game. I would consider giving him more time before you just call for a buff for Marvin

Marvin the Martian is my main. I like how he has all the ranged attacks and how you have to control the territory

Been playing a lot of Marvin and I think the most difficult hurdle to overcome with him is his hit priority being so low. You have to hit first or you won’t hit at all.

Top 300 global 1v1 player here. I agree with everything you have said but Stripe he is still strong, upper A to low S tier is where he should be at. Also at first release he was straight overpowered.

Steven to me is perfect as is, yes he has a lot of stuff but if you get beaten by a steven its because he outplayed you, steven has to work for his kills i dont think his up special should be nerfed as its his only reliable kill move outside of down air. And when you have characters like harley, finn, batman, superman in the game that are infinitely easier to play and infinitely easier to kill with theres just no argument to nerf a character that is not taking control of the meta like the others are.

Man....I still love Marvin, he excels a bit more in 2s since he can be more chaotic, but otherwise you're right, he's fun, but not useful, he needs to either be tuned to fit an assassin or tune and worked into mage Solid tier list my dude, I don't know the game that well balance wise but it does seem very solid

Shaggy is also one of the least harmed by nerfs, and I think he could end up being top tier due to nerf creep

Bugs does not need nerfs you don’t see bugs anywhere on the top of leaderboards. I’m ranked 27 with bugs and 900 in general in 1v1 and all the bugs I see are around 3k, 4k

I personally think that we shouldn't put such an importance in the character categories it just kind of suggests that all the characters from one categorie should play the same

Respectfully I would like to disagree with the majority of this tear list. Now you have me some valid points like what you said about certain characters being annoying but not over powered but there is absolutely no reason you have iron giant in S tier S tier Harley, Bugs, Jake, shaggy A tier Morty, Rick, WW, Batman, Game of Thrones girl, B tier Green Dog, brown dog, Steven, Velma, iron giant C tier Garnet, current tom and Jerry I main Wonder Woman, I second Morty. The thing about each character is that as long as you know their moveset you can knock them off the map immediately.

I constantly fight the #1 shaggy almost everytime I play multiversus and I can say shaggy is crazy good all round plus his dair is really good good teir list but A teir can be shuffled around like Rick stripe and shaggy all at the front of A teir

Playing Marvin a bit, I think what he's completely lacking is a consistent finisher. If you play right and do some true combos, you can rack up damage pretty well- however the problem is the fact that they made his rocket extremely strong and in most situations where you do not have them in hitstun, the opponent will be able to dodge out of it's way even if you bubble or reverse it. Without the rocket, it's practically up to hitting them to a much higher percentage or the opponent making a mistake and being able to spike/ringout near the edge. Other than that, Marvin seems decently strong and I can see him becoming an above average character with some changes.

Marvin in 1v1 is pretty hard but he's awesome in twos

I love marvin but I feel hes missing a move or something, or maybe if his buble was just on less cooldown, or his flag had a better hit box

I only hate playing against Steven because like you said of the up shield spam lol

People overly complained about Rick and then Player First (I'd say for almost the first time) over nerfed the character. He has no flow in his combat, his keep away game is just not as good as others, and his kill power was taken away from him after the nerfs. He feels weird now. Without charged blaster, he's forced to play an offensive game it feels like he was never meant to play.

Marvin needs a buff

When you get the targeting mechanic down, and learn how to effectively control projectiles, Marvin becomes a beast. Easily top damage of almost any 2v2 game I play with him, and most of the time the person behind me isn't even close in damage. Marvin is at least A tier

Then Harley is actually broken she needs a limit to her gadgets just like Rick she can infinitely spam creating such a dull play style

I think all of these characters should be moved down a tier l. If that many make it to S, then S becomes an A. S tier needs to have less than other tiers.

Marvin is clearly a character like reindog who excels in 2s but wasn’t made for 1s. So Marvin seems like a great 2s character, but clearly doesn’t fit in 1s. Reindog is similar, but thankfully Reindog’s combos are rly good so he’s playable in 1s

I kind of agree with stripes placement he’s in a tier bottom of s. BUT I highly disagree with the fact u say that he didn’t need nerfs. Strips at launch was actually not ok. He kept getting bullets he would never run out and forward air was and still is an insane move in his hit, it leads into a lot of combo moves. I guess I can understand he doesn’t really have kill moves except chainsaw, but at the same time, the character didn’t necessarily need kill moves since any move that sent off stage, you just shoot them to finish the job off. I like the version of stripe I’ve been seeing in tournaments a lot better. You still have insane combos but you have to get much more creative with kills and it’s pretty hype ngl. I think the character is really good but there are a lot of moves in the kit that are straight up not used like skateboard, up and down ground moves and jab to an extent. In my opinion, the team should try to make the character a lot more well rounded so that stripe isn’t just doing the same moves and combos.

The up spam on Marvin is ridiculous most people run spam and then spam up spam. The up shot should be limited to 3. Black Adam needs fixes in his combos so that people don't fall out. His < triangle needs to have a dodge effect similar to Arya ground down triangle he still needs abit more speed to keep up with s tier square mashers.. Harley needs to be nerfed she needs her hit boxes reduced and for as much mash as she can do she needs reduced damage fin down hits both in air and on ground needs a nerf to easy to ring out dont even have to get people to take alot of damage his super armored hold hit which he can run around holding his hand up or sword getting super armor and garunteed hit needs a nerf..shaggy needs a nerd for how easy he is he to over tuned for easy bring outs Taz aswell tbh..

Does pretty much everyone think shaggy is only A tier? With his knee being even better I have seen good shaggy’s zero to death people with his insane new sideways air ability. I think with his nuts speed in attack cancels and massive weight for a bruiser he definitely S, man can just pull a sandwich and go ultra instinct in about 2 seconds and use any special to kill most characters at around 90 if they not middle of stage 🤷‍♂️

how do people always say shaggy is the easiest character? i mean he got basic logical moves but hes way harder to play than a superman, harley, wonderwoman or jake. U need to make certain combos to win otherwise everyone is going to dodge u and u need a good amount of movement skills just to keep up with all the fckng projectile characters. also his hitboxes (but rage neutral special and ground neutral) arent large. I can say that hes easy to play when u play low mmr tho, but thats not a good level to compare...

Giant is very easy to fix and it's been the same since the very first launch day of the game, and every top giant or pro player has always said the same thing. He's an extremely simple character to balance. Half of his kit doesn't even mechanically work either. He's the definition of left to die. I don't know how a game makes a character with the worst stats in the game, worst prio, make his entire passive not work at all, and make all his moves worst in game as well but give him one viable move. Might as well make a grappler class and make him the only character in it. Man has one move that only top 0.01% of giants can do but since giant has top 5 lowest pick rate in the game, those are the only people left playing the character and he still hasn't been fixed, but they removed the experimental tag like he's even close to being finished with the dozens of bugs he still has since launch.

your hate for batman is uncalled for jake is the strongest hardest to punish. I can see why you have trouble with batman, but it's a skill issue more than anything you are 17k or so in the ranks that's pretty low skill wise even im top 500 on the leaderboard and top 100 as a batman. rang is easy to dodge I know too many players who have already adapted and have no issue facing batman.

I disagree with your ranking of Reindog and Steven. I think Steven is the worst character hands down, his hitboxes are generally smaller than most other characters, he has a few saving graces like the dodge bubble and neutral b but he also has some absolutely useless moves like his kick side b(when you dont have a shield charge) and his watermelon down b. In conclusion, I think you should've ranked him lower. Reindog has some absolutely massive hitboxes with easy and rewarding combos. He kills way too early and has some of the best stage spacing on the roster. Reindog is so good and for some reason people think he's bad, like he isn't common in tourney for no reason. Facing a good Reindog is a humbling experience

My list for 1s Shag-A shaggy can keep you close with alot of his moves. Good chains he could do Batman- S just consistent. The game plan doesn't even need a change just go for any move into recovery recovery and you'll win eventually Jake -high A the combos will break your mental bruh Finn-S apple spam unpunishable very often don't try hitting him on the ground all moves will counter . It's alot of footsies with this guy Harley -S bitches man most despised character. Camping behind her balloon holding a batbomb not moving waiting for me to chase her. She proceeds to win at 100 HP then teabags a storm and doesn't rematch. Why do Harleys barely rematch me ??? Actually being for real lmao Wonder woman - B very good at killing vertically if they can read correctly Superman- high A Dodge cancels after armor move over and over into jump Lazer into falling side air and continue to play defensive till you get impatient. Proceeds to side down side down Up light jump neutral and kill at 30 if can get a read after . He's really good at making you wanna end the game win or lose Steven-A no comment Rein-B Good Reins will juggle and do less spam than the other rein players very good combo character Bugs -A combo game🥶 T&J high B just a good character who can do alot Stark -S no explaining needed Velma - I got no clue I never bump into them any more her and Steven it's rare to fight for some reason Taz- super match up dependent either a B or low C Iron- super random some giants are crazy at managing cool downs and make him look like a A tier Lebron- High A the lebrons are evolving with their combos and positioning Morty- S my man is stacked especially with his combo being much much more consistent, played him loads before the buff and still thought he was op as it was Rick- S tier gimps- high A overall Stripe low A I don't know who's saying he's useless now he can still latch on to you even if hes deadass hitting the air Gizmo - in 1s he's gotta be one of the best characters like top 3 . The amount of space they can create and combos lasting a whole 5 minutes it feels. Level 30+ gizmos are scary as hell. Hardest fight for me to win by far if they are good Black Adam High B you definitely need to work for the combos and make it work, haven't seen many Adams to really say much. Marvin low A in 1s I really don't know why people can't see how good he can be. The dude has very good control if you play him correctly. I recommend staying in the lab and really looking deep into what moves can be dodge cancelled on hit or chained . Do not spam desperate your gun and flag. Learn where each projectile should be used. For combos use his button during combos Ps this was really rushed I'm sorry
