It's not that people are not ok with Autism.but as you will know not all people who have autism are high functioning on the spectrum.unfortunately some people on the spectrum are not able to do anything for themselves and require constant care.also cases of vaccine damage that have been found to be the cause or worsening of Autism have been acknowledged by the UK and USA vaccine court.

You say ridiculous but there was a scientific study at the time that linked the two. So although most people take a "trust the science" approach a lot of people at the time felt they were trusting the science by not vaccinating their children.

My comment wasn't about people's attitudes towards immunisations 'at the time', it was about their attitudes at this point in time

Her daughter also has autism so I’m not surprised she is worried about what she’s putting in her child’s body. There was no problems with the MMR vaccine when they were given separately, it was when they tried to save money and put them in one vaccines that problems occurred.

If you’ve ever had a cold sore then you have herpes. All it takes it to make contact with the rash itself and you get it. It’s not only sexually transmitted :)

Herpes can be an STD but it's a really common virus the almost everyone has even if it never shows up with symptoms or something. Cold sores are a form of herpes, some rashes, etc.

It’s not just a sexually transmitted disease. Chicken pox is a type of herpes, so are cold sores.

There's many many types of strains of herpes. Chicken Pox and Coldsores are both variants of the herpes simplex virus.

You won’t find a doctors surgery in this country even now that will currently practice like this. They’re still working via telephone consultations only, & then they decide if they want to see you, then you turn up with your mask on. I’ve been in my local GP practice once for an appointment & everyone, including receptionists, had masks on. This was evidently filmed pre-covid. Doctors / Nurses wouldn’t see patients without masks or some form of PPE on at the moment.

@@oliviatuck4421 Back in the 1950's there were no specialists in neuro developmental conditions. This is come directly from people who lived through those times and their experiences. They told me children did not have as many disabilities in the numbers you see now.

Neuro specialists do not know what happened in the past as they weren't even alive. The people that were alive did know what went on.

In the past non-neurotypical people were grossly misunderstood- and even nowadays many people misunderstand what autism actually is. Things like autism were massively under-diagnosed, with many key historical figures displaying signs of being non-neurotypical, but having just been considered odd or shy in their time. Also lots of misunderstanding now about what 'makes someone autistic'. Lots of the symptoms of autism are very very hard to spot- especially in girls. Most importantly, autism isn't a bad or scary thing. Some of us process the world a bit differently, but it isn't something we need to cure- and it certainly isn't worse than the deadly diseases we vaccinate against. If I could pick autism or measles- I would pick autism without hesitation.

The difference between then and now is research and acceptance. Mental health disorders, developmental disorders, they were even more stigmatised then than they are now. Lots of parents wouldn’t want to admit their child has special needs, so they grow up without any assistance. The truth of the matter is, disorders certainly still existed back then. Many of my elder relatives and neighbours have gotten anxiety disorder diagnosis in the past 10 years, even though they displayed those symptoms for a lot longer. There’s more people diagnosed with autism because it’s been researched more, it’s understood that many people have lower support needs but are still autistic and it’s understood that girls can have it too. The number of autistic people hasn’t drastically increased, the accessibility of a diagnosis has.

As a type 1 diabetic,fruit is full of sugar so you are not supposed to have more than 3 servings a day unless your running low,then you can have more…but it’s not insane,you have to watch everything you eat because of natural sugars,have too much and you’ll get sick and need to adjust your insulin dose
