Wouldn't be surprised if parents were emailed/called and they missed them. We're always told not to bring shockers to parents evenings because it will fall back on us.
@@roche320 but then it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. Because she must’ve been doing it the whole year for it to have been brought up in the meeting
One of my favourite moments from parents evening was when my teacher and father ganged up on me claiming I spent too much time on social media and that’s why I was failing (had nothing to do with the teachers lack of wanting to teach every lesson and blatant favouritism. Also his qualification was that his wife worked in the industry he was teaching). Me being severely depressed didnt really do much of socialising. I didn’t say a word. I just silently took my phone out, placed it on the table, opened it and scrolled through the pages for them to see I had about two apps and neither of them were social media. They went pretty silent as we all realised no one at the table was paying attention to my education and it wasn’t on me who had three students from another class as tutors that i organised to make up for the teachers lack of teaching. It was a beautiful moment.
I will always remember my Geography teacher when she told my mum at parents evening I had burped in the lesson one day and said Ryan seems to have a problem saying excuse me afterwards we don't use are manners do we . It was so embarrassing
Yeah why do teachers bring up stuff you did one time by accident. Not like you did it deliberately to disrupt the class and it should have been dealt with at the time and forgotten about. I have had students burp or fart or swear in class and not told their parents.
She gets everything so perfect with how mums can be like in britain that it almost pisses me off cos i feel like im back to being in primary or secondary school again
The funny thing is, it’s the opposite for me. My teachers will say I’m a star and my parents will laugh and my mum will go “I was such a devil in school!” Or smth like that 😂 And the other weird thing is there’s a Miss Hall 😳
i got caught skiving in the toilets and now they lock them during lessons, but i ended getting locked in there and i had to call my friend to get the teacher😂😂 i was in there for like 2 periods and i am excluded for 3 days with IS for 2 weeks
I’m the youngest of 5 so they didn’t care by the time it got to me, no point in me or my parents going because we didn’t want to lol. We got a report every term they just went based off that. So they’d bring up parents evening if just throw out the letter and parents thanked me for it. In YEAR 10! My parents stopped going in year 4 when it stopped being compulsory so 6 years later! My mum gets a call from the school because she’s obviously neglecting me??? Because she doesn’t come to parents evening. My mums like ok so you wouldn’t bring up any major issues to be unless it was near the end of the year face to face with about 15 teachers? And they claimed she needed more interest in my grades… why? If my mum knows about my C in maths and my F in physics what’s gonna change? I’m still gonna find those subjects hard. Anyway she asked the school to call the police if I’m being neglected, and also she would come to parents evening when my teachers want to go cover her shift in the hospital. She never got called again. (But also like wtf my sister got straight F’s and they didn’t call my mum about her!)
UK here, ig you could use it like that, but I think flunking is more when you don't try hard in lessons etc, it's not necessarily just about missing lessons, but not caring about school in general. eg when you flunk a subject is when you don't care about getting a good grade in it
"I was a delight in high school" Excuse me, but is Masie you? Is she exactly you? Did you go through a time machine and brought out yourself when you were in high school instead of having a daughter? No, this is a separate human being, so shove off.

You seem like the teacher in this sketch - too in control of the discussion from the get go 😅 The teacher is supposed to be in control in this setting and invoking the subject whilst the parent is supposed to be following the teachers lead, then steamrolling the convo.. Instead, this seemed like a one sided convo 🤔 I like your other video's though 😉😅
Why is that a critique you feel the need to give? Maisie’s mum has always been very outspoken, so it’s perfectly in character that she would steamroll the teacher and put in her 2 cents right off the bat.
@@abbiesmith8724 Why not? I shared my perspective in the hopes that it would help this women to develop.. nothing wrong with giving an opinion... It could be more obvious that this isn't a one sided convo.. 👍
@@amcshares3630 she didn't ask for critique though, she just posted the video. plus the joke is that this character is steamrolling and being embarrassing lol
@@zubetp She's uploading videos on RU-vid and leaving the comment section on... she's asking for critique as much as any other comment. There's nothing wrong with giving my opinion and trying to help her improve.. No need to be so sensitive, critique is what helps us better ourselves. My point wasn't that the character playing the role of a mother is steamrolling the teacher. My point was that she had teachers mannerisms and it could have been presented in a more realistic manner, with pauses and recognition of the teachers input.. for example, she could have started with "Oh, Hi miss Manger, I'm maddys mum!" And continues the convo In a more realistic fashion, giving slightly longer breaks when the teacher is suppose to have said whole statements, such as explaining the problem around skiving school 👍
