This women acted way beyond her station, she needed the guilty verdict otherwise the gravy train she was on would have stopped dead in its tracks and she would not have the opportunity to financialy benefit from the case. If she has interfered in any way with jury she should herself face the judicial system.

The hypocrisy oozing from Hill and her supporters is mind blowing. She lacks any self awareness. Murdaugh used his position of authority & influence to benefit himself and Hill is accused of doing that as well (albeit on a less serious level). Why they can’t understand the similarities is beyond me.

The Gordons and the Hills put up $30,000 of their own money to self publish. The only deadline was a deadline they created themselves. She only threw an excuse out there because she will be getting sued in civil court and wants to deflect.

Boy, she seriously did not hesitate to rush to a chance to benefit financially from that heinous trial and man! Her "timeline" was rushed because she wanted to ride the wave of the trial and I'm sure major oversights occured as a result. I live in Walterboro where the trial took place. It's a lovely yet VERY SMALL town. I don't know this woman and with what I'm hearing about her, I would like to keep it that way. Opportunists of every kind should be avoided because they only think of themselves and not the greater collective.

Newman is a disgrace. He doesn’t even try to mask his bias. His scathing condemnation of defendants after guilty verdicts are a clear indication of that. It’s as if he has his statements ready to go.

I did watch her talking about the hearing and promoting her book on a morning show and I felt then that she was all about herself and patting herself on the back! It turned me off. Now I hear this and I’m deeply disappointed and disgusted that she could jeopardize this whole court case against Murdaugh! It makes me angry.

I've been a director of marketing and communications for 20+ years. I can tell you about deadlines, writing last minute content, pressures, and such. NEVER once did I resort to a lame-arse excuse like that to steal someone else's work. Glad she admitted it, but her credibility with the entire court system is now questioned - especially at one of the highest profile murder trials we've seen in a long time. Our country has no values anymore.

This is insane. What "tight time deadlines" could Hill have been under? The book was VANITY (not SELF) published. I can see no reason why she or her co-author were under any pressure to have the ms completed by a set date - they were calling the shots by paying to have it published! It astounds me that she was allowed to publish it before Murdaugh's appeal. What a train wreck - it wouldn't surprise me if Hill and her son end up serving jail time for their behaviour.

Watching this again as I am just astounded by this revelation. And to think, if Neil Gotdon had done his job as co-author, this book probably would’ve never gone out. Its easy to verify plagiarism these days, but just like how he couldn’t find the source of that photo, this piece of due diligence is lost on him.

Thankfully plagiarism isn’t something that would affect him getting an appeal. Did they ever get to the bottom of the investigation into the jurors and Becky talking to them? I’ve lost trust in her over this plagiarism, that’s for sure. I still think AM is guilty based on the evidence at trial.

Plagiarism is not illegal, but it’s an act that is universally understood as immoral. I don’t think her jury tampering caused her plagiarism, or vice versa. I do think, however, that it makes it more likely. I have no doubt in my mind that Alex Murdaugh is guilty. At the same time, due process is a right that is understood to pre exist the govt that even the most guilty defendants are entitled to. And if this woman really said any of the things she is accused of saying, then I think Alex Murdaugh unfortunately deserves a new trial.

The only reason it didn’t make the money they were hoping for is because she got caught plagiarizing and breaking her oath as a clerk. Embarrassing. This is all so simple!!! Anytime something is said in court the judge just says STRIKE THE COMMENT !!! I’m sure the jury heard a lot worst!! First of alll jurors are given the jury instructions on the only things to take into consideration when deliberating! So did all the jurors hear Becky make this accusation? And did they come up with the Guilty verdict because what Becky said OR because the case the prosecutor gave? Does Becky statement change the fact that he murdered his family?!!!! What if they found him innocent? Would they still be complaining about Becky? This isn’t grounds for a new trial!!!

It was an awful read and if you’re half as honest as you claim, you know it. You’re lucky you found a clean break from her and this mess but you were absolutely a part of it. Still waiting on hearing your version of where that photo your wife published came from.
