All he needed to do was just pass no matter how low his final scores were knowing he had a job waiting for him at his fathers firm. Buster would have done the same until he was caught plagiarising and then when he tried to get back in his father was on trial for a double murder and they didn't want the negative publicity. He could still get back in later this year, but there won't be open job opportunity waiting for him and he needs to maintain very high scores to get a job elsewhere. He might be better off with a change in career path.

@@1972dsrai I don't think Buster ever wanted to go to law school. Since Paul didn't want to be a lawyer, I think Alec really pressured Buster. There was no way he wanted the family legacy to die. In my opinion Buster will never become a lawyer. If the rumors about him are correct, he is not being true to himself or his girlfriend Brooklyn. In my opinion if he stays in South Carolina he'll never find happiness.

There were probably admin people at his law firm who might have questioned certain actions or processes, but were quickly shut down by people above. As long as they were all making money they probably didn't care or chose to look the other way. Also, if no one was asking where their money was all must have appeared well, at least superficially.

That money that was transferred in Alex’s account wasn’t even the banks money. It was the CUSTOMERS money. They used their customers money that was entrusted to the bank to cover ONE customer’s overdraft. I’m quite sure that other small customers were charged overdraft fees and even had their accounts closed due to insufficient funds. This is disgusting.

Why do they literally get away with murder while a single mother struggling to keep her lights on , pay daycare so she can work, and pay rent will incur fees of almost $50 If she overdraws her account. She could even go to jail and face losing her children over a $15 check. The money amounts cited in this case are so staggering it’s hard for normal people to even wrap their heads around! Thanks for posting this video. I will have to sit down with a pencil and paper and listen to this several times before it can all soak in.

*"HOW"* to protect them is the question~! A former president of the United States bypassed 'legal' protections to 'fire' an employee whistle blower as in the case of Trump firing Lt. Col.A.Vindman (and his twin brother just for shit and grins). If that was done to a Lt. Col. who was supposed to have protections in place, I cannot imagine how *we* can protect these very brave free lance whistle-blower-investigators in the swamps at the center of South Carolina's good 'ole boy network. Scary stuff they are uncovering; like someone else said, as big as the Mafia. Their work is superb and is also what blew these cases wide open while the state A.G and deputy Creighton and his team go around accepting all the credit. You asked one hell of a question at the end... So if I understand correctly, Russell and his father both get some of the biggest subsidies in the county for farming. Russell started making very obvious moves to cover up misdeeds. Both the Murdaugh and Laffite families are multigenerational wealthy families with close ties to each other and each other's businesses. So could Russell also be protecting his own father to prevent it from further unraveling. 🤔 Or could he have been told to make all of these moves by his father or Harpootlian. I think I might just have to look at all communications between him, Harpootlian, and his dad in and around August last year!

Fine job on these podcasts! Very , very clearly and slowly and softly spoken allow for gradual and clear understanding for the listener. I totally CELEBRATED over the guilty on all 4 counts and repeatedly listening to Judge Newmann’s lecture and statement of sentence. Now my hope is that All clients get the $ Alex stole; that Buster is somehow sorted and recognizes what his father really did and overhauls his own personality and repents; that every one of the 90+ cases waiting to be heard all work out to clearly expose Alex and make things right with those victims of Alex; that every single cent Alex hid is found and ripped from him and distributed to The Many Victims of Alex Murdaugh; that the truth comes out about EVERYTHING his brothers may have helped Alex with to cover his guilt -if they did help him out- ; That Buster’s girlfriend dumps him FAST and becomes sn honest attorney; That Buster never gets back into any law school; that Alex does not run scams in prison and financially prosper; That the dead girl’s family gets what they need. Just for starters. Keep up the stellar reporting and research. Good luck on your new happy relationship and kudos to your two partners and I think you also worked with Eric Alun. He seems very solid as well.

Fair to say Alex was not only satisfying his own drug habit, but also no doubt also responsible for distribution and sales of the drugs they were running through that state and fanning out beyond borders. Still surprised why he didn’t have more disposable monies in addition to the bunch he stole from all of his clients...

I also believe he was selling drugs. There is money hidden somewhere and it is still being looked for. But they did live large. His credit card bills were $50,000 some months. They never flew commercial airlines, it was always private planes and they drove expensive cars. And they seemed to waste a lot of food because the housekeeper at Moselle said she usually came to work in the morning and the dinner leftovers from the night before would still be left sitting out. They never put them in the frig.

I suspect that the money went to drugs and a whole lot of payoffs. No one is mentioning the payoffs as a source of where the money went. Then there is the lifestyle and all his properties. His monthly overhead had to be huge!

I think illegal gambling has a lot to do with the money. I think the entire family and members of his circle was involved. Possibly why he couldn’t use that as an explanation to where the money went and instead blamed it on a drug addiction. I think he would’ve brought down everyone.

I still do not understand why Maggie’s wedding ring was not found by police as her house keeper found it after the murder, and the fact that Alex wanted her to come to Mosell to go visit his mom and Pop, her sister knew things were not right and thinking they would patch things up…. Her ring was found by the police and they took pictures of it in the car. But they said that it was her ring in her car. It didn't have any blood on it and was not reported missing. She could have taken it off for any number of reasons. But it was photographed and it was in their report.

Russel owns a lot of farmland down there. Does the Gov't still have loans available to help start-up farmers, minoritys, etc? That was a hot thing in the 90's where just about anybody could get very low interest loans from the Gov't to buy land and start farming/ranching. Would be interesting to see how many of those loans were spread around down there and how many minorities were even aware of it. It wasn't advertised. Only way to find out about it was to walk into FHA office and start talking loans and claim minority status, but, who knew?

My answer to almost everything so far is oh yeah! This Duffy situation is something different to me however, it seems like he's too beholden to too many Murdaugh's likely including Randy and too many defense attorneys including Alec's defense Attorney right after he was Paul's which seems like it would be a conflict of interest for Dick, but also the first person to call in anunalivement of his Wife and Son would always be a suspect so Duffy shouldn't have ever been there but the FBI should've been called in right away in my opinion
