We took Murder Nova to the FuelTech USA in Ball Ground, GA to do some tuning on the dyno. The result was over 3200rwhp from the 482ci twin turbo small block! www.themurdernova.com
@@bigboreracing356 no they don't, lol. The dyno has nothing to do with it. It's about the car. There's plenty of normal cars that go on a hub dyno and the tuner just sits in it in street clothes. But when your putting a car on there that's pushing 3k HP and god forbid something blows up, you need way more protection than when you have a 200 HP Honda on it.
Putting aside the pucker factor of things flying apart at that horsepower. He's mostly suited up bc of the meth, just being around a car that runs on methanol burns your eyes, then there's the fact that it burns clear... Better safe than sorry.
So he can pull almost 900 HP out of it and still run 4.12 in the eighth...that's insane. Yep, I'm just running around on my low boost setting today...only making 2300 to the tires. That's just crazy.
You all prolly dont care but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
U shut the motor off at the end of a pull or run to check the plugs. That’s y after the first pull he had the plugs sitting on top of motor an said it was getting to much fuel. Check ur plugs an fuel curve with ur air target ratio
I love the little 1.5 ton jack holding the middle of that car up one good hard shake and the dyno only thing holding it hope them lugs are not brittle.
Following the no prep scene here for some years. Sad there isn't similar here in Germany. The Murder Nova is my all time fav. Great car. Would love to see it some day in rl. Cheers from Germany. ;)
TheMessiah absolutely, yeah there isn’t anything wrong with admitting your in over your head. I’d rather seek advice from professionals before I do something stupid.
TheMessiah he knew that if he had a jet car he would go all out in it so it’s best to remove the temptation completely instead of saying I just won’t go all out in it. Because we all would want a full pull with it so sooner or later he would hurt himself
I literally just watched caffeine and octane of the proline garage and then I hop on RU-vid and this is the first video. These cohencidence keep happening and its tripping me out. Someone said it's a sign of your on the right track in life. Crazy
Always loved your car it's bad ass and u shod be at number 1 on the list 100% . And yes you can drive the wheels off that I give u that nice work. Love the show as well
Mais do que isso, Fuel Tech é patrimônio de todo brasileiro que gosta e entende de carro. Que a galerinha da Fuel Tech continue fazendo bonito como sempre fez, dentro e fora do BR! :)
I met ya'll at Tulsa last weekend, and I must say, I was not disappointed.. Real down to earth guy's, Thanks for autographing my new shirts.. Hell, he even put down his lunch to do it for me..
That's a cool race car! Very impressive for a small block. I remember making a thousand horsepower with a 306 back in 1998. And how crazy that was. It's amazing where it is now. Grand Nationals were the only cars that made me a little nervous back in the day. I knew they had something special with them turbos. Obvious now.
Bout damn time Phantom jk glad to see you guys doing the damn thing. Much love and respect to 187 Customs. I will say though I miss seeing you and Chief together. Still great work KEEP MOVING FORWARD
Shawn is no longer co owner of midwest streetcars. He has his own shop called 187 customs. Don't know the details if their still friends or not. I hope they are, guess we're going to find out on next season of the 405 street outlaws show
Zane Howard , the crank never touches the bearings while any engine is running , the only time it touches is when it ain't turning and at a complete stop
DAMN BRO!!! I seriously hope that you've got some tricks up your sleeves to keep this beast hooked up and stay in a straight line. At the beginning of the video with 2400ish HP the Murder Nova was getting a bit squirrelly, what's going to happen with 800HP more???!!!! I wish you luck and stay safe man.
That car is so impressive make no mistake about it once the driven gets in tune with this car it will be number one on any list all year long. The car is there shawn is one of the best street outlaws in the country once they are on the same page watch out man watch out !!
Damn and I thought my near 400rwhp NA E46 M3 went alright with all things considered :( talk about a kick to the nuts haha Awesome car boys must be a blast :) Respect from Australia
Lucky he let off, it was gonna get sucked into the inlets :0 camera dude: "What do you feed this monster? Nova : "Umm, i eat a secret mix of methanol and the odd workshop dyno cart." lol.
I remember in my early twenties, we would street race in front of the drag strip after it closed. It was in the middle of nowhere, miles of straight roads, you could see cars comming, they could never catch us "racing" because we could see em comming for miles. Those days are gone, now thousands of h.p. cars, impounding cars that are just insanely overpowered for the street, jail time, not fun anymore, my car sits collecting dust, the fun days of weekend street racing are over for the average guy.. If they would keep it at the track maybe law enforcement wouldn't have to create such extreme measures, Oh well I quess...
You know everyone will ask " Hey is that a 481X?" Hell no, a 482 smallblock with a set of turbos🤣😆. Sounds awesome, looks mean and makes some good power too💪👍
Hell yeah, shut that thing off right after a full pass, I hope the oil pump was still running of precision will want to look those turbos over, but it sure sounded like everything was off. Glad to see your getting that car running like it should!!!?
This shows exactly how big of a difference a properly tuned car make. To go from 2345 RWHP to 3205 RWHP is a massive difference. Almost a 900HP gain. The first car I built was a 1989 Mustang GT. That was back in 1997. At the time if you had a 500rwhp car you were 1 of the fastet cars on the street. 500HP was the big thing. I had about 325rwhp and did pretty well on the streets. I got rid of it several years later after I was married and wanted to build a house. We've all made that sacrifice. Then in 2009 I was really getting the fever again so I bought a 1995 Mustang Cobra with a built 306 and Vortech supercharger. Of course the guy wasnt completely honest about how much the wngine had been run and a few other things. It blew a head gasket 2 days after buying it and the fuel pressure kept dropping. He did mention to always keep an eye on fuel cuz it could blow the head gaskets. That wasnt why the gasket blew. The block had different machine work on it than the heads. The older style machine was used on the block so it wasnt glossy smooth. He used the head gaskets that woukd basically allow it to burp or however that worked and should have used the stock style. With the block not being so smooth would catch the gasket and blow it. I might not be explaing it exactly right but you hardcore guys know what I mean. Put stock haskets on a no more issues. Now the fuel pressure kept dropping because there were 2 fuel pumps. 1 in tank and 1 out. They tapped of stock wirung fir 2nd pump. That wire was barely enough for 1 let alone 2. So we ran 2 new wires with 2 relays for the pumps. When I talked to the former owner he was very curious all of a sudden when I brought up fixing the fuel problem that he never told me about. He asked what was the problem because the could never figure it out. Now I had the guy tuning the car in and the dyno was nicknamed the heartbreaker because everyone that came in claimed they had 500HP and alot didnt even have that at the flywheel. I test drove the car before I bought and thought it would have the 525hp this guy claimed and it hit 498rwhp and 420tq. Now the car rzn good but still had some issues in mid ranges. We did a compression test. All cylinders had 165-170 except 1 which was 110s. I cant remember exactly. At that point I said eff putting any money into that engine now. I was gonna wait until the following summer to start building what I wanted but oerfect excuse with wife to start. So order a Dart block and ordered all forged 347 stroker kit. I didnt want to do something a little different so left standard bore. I had a 342 cubic inch stroker. Brought it back to the dyno with new setup. Old 306 made 498rwhp and 420tq on 13lbs of boost. New setup made 489rwhp and 483tq on only 6lbs of boost. Huge difference in the performance of the car. I could have went smaller pulley for more boost but since it ran so much better and was only gonna gain roughly 50hp more because of the fuel system. I left it for now. I was gonna ship off the S trim and have it converted to a T trim to be able to get riughly 20lbs of boost out of it. While that was off I was going to swap in a whole new fuel setup with bigger lines, sumped tank, bigger injectors, fuel pump and all to handle up to 1500hp. That would have got me over 700rwhp with the supercharger maxed out. Then start a little later on with bigger heads, intake and turbo🤤. My goal was 1000RWHP +.BUT I ended up having an accident that put me in a wheelchair so the car had to be sold. 500rwhp now is now every other hopped up car. You gotta be in 1000hp range to be up there now. Sorry for rambling on.
Shit fire! That’s a dyno pull. Watched the numbers got up and I was like 60psi wow that’s a lot pressure then 65psi and I’m like how they have heads on that motor then more pressure 70! What kinda of air density is that wow. That’s moving some air in that gas pumper.
