Really liked the small written summary of your analysis.

Love these vids! I would love to see you acknowledge which picks of the last sets had an impact.

Reenact the Crime is absolutely crazy

Really think No More Lies deserves #1, as Reenact the Crime is highly dependent on surrounding factors to become a possible combo card, whereas Lies is surefire going into every Pioneer UW/x control deck for th foreseeable future. Either way, besides Lies, I find the set generally very underpowered and don't expect it to have much impact on Pioneer.

I completely agree with this. It was about time we got a proper counterspell in explorer if you ask me. The set is underwhelming compared to other recent sets, but maybe the powerlevel actually has been a bit over the top for a long time, so I welcome it.

@@broke1986 I do not really agree or disagree with this statement. It's right and false at the same time. This set is quite literally, percentage wise, on par with other sets of the last 2 years'ish. The only difference being, that the few cards that actually impacted the format were close to busted. And I would argue No More Lies is on the same power level as the few cards that really made a splash in the last few years. I mean, it's the best counterspell in the format. Only thing that could powercreep it out, would be actual Manaleak and Counterspell. Lightning Helix in the format is also nothing to scoff at. We know how powerful that card is. It's not only a 2nd copy of Lightning Strike for Boros, but also a 3 damage counterspell vs many aggro decks. Deadly Cover-Up is also an insane powercrept Crux of Fate, because it isn't just a dead card in the control mirror. Plus, and that is completely off topic...This set was really good for Pauper.

The problem with Blood Splatter Analysis is only one thing: Neither Midrange nor Sac have space for a card like this. Midrange sits on "unconditional" removal on 2CMC, with Bitter Triumph even hitting plainswalker, Blood Splatter does not, and the creature base is too solid. Harvester is the best 2 drop, period. Inti offers too much value. Kroxa is too important in the Control MU. Sac plays the same 2-drops (aside from Inti). And while this card COULD be an option, you have too many mandatory cards to really consider Blood Splatter. Especially because there isn't a real target for the recursion effect to really count either. The card is obviously not bad, but I don't see it being played, because Midrange are "good stuff" decks, and I doubt this card can compete with the best cards Rakdos has to offer already. I agree with Deadly Cover-Up. Dimir is so close to being really good. Especially with it's option to pivot into a Day's deck via sideboard (or vise versa). Dimir really needed a Damnation in Pionier. And with the added benefit of a conditional Surgical Extraction...just...chefs kiss. Already bought it as a 2 of. Now we just need a better 2 CMC counterspell to keep up with the new Manaleak in disguise.
