In my opinion, Murphy Lee and Nelly were the two most talented MC's in the St. Lunatics. No disrespect to Kiyjuan and Ali, but Murphy Lee and Nelly's verses always stood out in every song.
He'll yea murph was the second blow up because his album sold platinum now and single did won Grammy hit the charts top charts everything he done it the only problem he had was the label they should've drop his second album and let him do the same thing he did previous album he probably would've had 10 album out with 30 million sold and alot awards but he still the goat

His Verse on “Batter Up”, even as a 14 year old Freshman…. I knew even then that Murph Deerrty was different than the rest of the members in the group. I bought the St. Lunatics album for the fact it was more of Murphy Lee’s Debut more so than the group. Everybody had their own vibes, but Murphy Lee always had the right bars to close of a track or fill in the areas to give it the right extra touch. Most only wanted to think it was a Nelly and friends album.
I think almost everyone knows it's better to be independent than with a major but as a DJ told me a while back (and Murphy Lee confirmed it in this video), there's nothing wrong with initially signing with a major when you get in the game to get that structure if you dont have the bread. That's what K.R.I.T. did. Then after an album or two and getting those connections then you can go independent
Sounds easier said then done. You damn sure ain’t getting a one album deal or even two album deal. Labels won’t have leverage with that. 4 -5 album deals is what’s most common and that keeps you under wraps for a while.
It actually is in the age of social media. Yes getting 50K-100K views indy is hard as hell but, as Murphy Lee said in the previous video, artists these days gotta come to the table with a social media following and organic views before getting seriously looked at by a major. They dont wanna miss out on that money

Chingy was just someone who Ludacris and the music industry propped up as competition to Nelly. That is a false equivalency. That's like saying 50 cent was jealous of Tony Yayo because of how competitive he was with Ja Rule. No, 50 put Yayo on. And Ja Rule someone who was propped up as competition for 50. You can't compare that.

We should be selective about who we hand out flyers to because we don't know who's coming to the concert. I knew then he was a bum. Won't even spend the money, or effort to invest in himself. I get what Murphy Lee is saying....United we stand, Separate we fall. AND his analogy on how working together to make money in different ventures or ways makes so much sense. For example, Nelly is considered the "show pony" of the crew. So automatically, whatever he puts his name to, it'll have some notoriety. Secondly, Murphy Lee could have a gift for learning about Real Estate or Investments. So therefore, they all could come together and invest in some properties or something. Thirdly, another member of the crew could know about Licensing & Trademarks. So then they could come up with a product and have equal shares in the product! But, that makes so much sense how he explained that and broke it down. Because at some point, everyone needs a little help, if you haven't had some of fruits established and put away for a rainy day.
Murphy Lee and the st. Lunatics were style originators. It shows with the skull cap over the fitted. I remember back in my middle school days at the height of their careers folks would wear the Jersey half way on. Kinda weird looking back but it was original.
