Yeah mate poor hook up ratios are par for the course with all surface fishing unfortunately, doesn't make it any less fun though! Probably my favourite way to target all of our natives 👌

@@jordythebassist definitely can't beat surface fishing Now I really have a hang of the single weedless hook frogs, I noticed hook up rate almost as good as any other lure, for bass anyway. I find I hook up less on walking lures with trebz, but it was fishing in clear water that helped, I noticed the bass if given slack after a boof, would run away with the frog in mouth, trying to scoff it down. So I learnt to let them take the frog give them half a second and then set hard, most hooks end up just behind the lip and are very hard to remove, this losing less Bass. Cod have a hard mouth anyway, usually if you hook up good I noticed they won't come off to easily, it's when you take the head out of the water and they thrash around the lure is more likely to come out. I can't wait to go chase some cod again not long now, I had to move my trip 2 weeks ahead but finally getting close now 👍 Going to start with divers, spinner baits and swim baits. Late afternoon, night and second day early morning going to try my best for my first surface cod. Looks like you are having a blast, looking forward to the next video 👍
