She makes it look so easy! I saw her perform live at the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, Queens, NYC. The MC fed us statistics before she came out and left me with my mouth open. I wish I could remember them now, but I can't. She ate HUGE amounts of steak each day, drank an ocean of water to prevent dehydration, and when she wasn't eating, she was either performing or sleeping. Incredible! I admired and respected her. She retired from show business in 1968...and I can understand why...and led a very private life until her death as a result of brain cancer, in 2012. She was something!
Thank you Baby Jane Hudson for this wonderful clip of young Stevie Wonder. I have shared this on our Reddit, MBTI RadioStation. Hello Harold. Love, Maude.
+Cole Parker Since you've seen it so many times, I'm wondering if you might be able to answer a question for me...Do you know the name of the girl who was dancing with Frankie Avalon near the end of the movie, or maybe the closing credits? She and Frankie were dancing back to back.
There was a Laura or Kathy Brent in one of the scenes. A lot of these women were extras for American International, but others were friends of friends. One of my friends appeared in one of the later pictures. He was on the Beach and they asked him to stand in.
I REALLY LOVE HER SO MUCH AND I HOPE TO KISS HER UP IN HEAVEN FOR SURE, SHE REALLY ROCKS, YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lorre was going to star in Bikini Beach but he sadly passed away just 2 days before the release of Muscle Beach Party so he didn't appear in Bikini Beach.
Just remember that it was forbidden to actually show Candy dancing with Stevie. No dancing with colored. It would've killed the movie at the box office. I'm actually surprised there isn't a "regional" version with this cut out...guess which region?
