People saying The Resistance sucked? What are you on about! That album has some great songs on it! Maybe take a listen and try to appreciate the masterpieces that Muse have created. They are an amazing band. So much talent.
Apparently just like me, I am attentive fans of muse ... congratulations you have good taste in music. Just to remember, I left a link in a comment your, be sure to watch our video, Sincerely hope you like ...
i always come back to this song and this performance. it's spectacular. the breadth, emotion, and strength of matt's voice is on full display and never ceases to make me emotional.
Muse certainly does get better every year!!! I love 2nd Law but for all different reasons than I love Showbiz. March of 2013 I saw Muse live in Detroit. Absolutely crazy and incredibly amazing. Matt's voice was to die for. hesounded great. All 3 were amazing. And they played Sunburn too!!! The place was blown away.
I personally really like this song. Always feel fuzzy from it. Maybe musically it's not as "inventive" as their other songs, but I think it's the best song in the Resistance album that showcases Matt's vocal technique. :)
@magisterps3 I am not implying everyone should play out of tune every time they're live..i'm just saying its normal to hear some out of tunes during live concerts..just to show they DONT depend on autotuning like some other artists..no fake stuffs...and YES,that is the whole point of being live..
@placemuz92 that harmonic wasn't planned in the song when they recorded it so not really much reason for him to play it live if he doesn't want to. And its not a harmonic anyway, the sound was created by his Fernandez Sustainer, whilst doing the final recording of the solo. NEVER QUESTION MATTS PLAYING ABILITY'S DAMMIT, HE CAN NAIL IT EVERY TIME IF HE WANTED TO !
@FuzzyChurro Kinda. I think it's because of Matt playing Guiding Light, which also reminded him about his father who died because of a heart attack last time they headlined Glastonbury (just one hour after the concert).
@placemuz92 because when they recorded it in the studio (as you can see in the video that came with the album) matt hit the harmonic accidentally and created a pinch harmonic. it was never meant to be there, and you know that because when you watch it they start laughing when he hits it and matt looks really surprised
I still adore this song. Resistance isn't their best album but IT'S STILL GOOD! Guiding Light and Unnatural Selection are 2 I can't live without. I like more obviously but those two are pure gold in my eyes.....or ears
@placemuz92 thats because there was not suppose to be a harmonic there in the first place. when they were recording the solo Matt accidentally played one and they kept in on for shits and giggles. Seach up making of guiding light one youtube you will see his reaction.
@placemuz92 yeah that's true you can hear it when he pulls off the notes, its quite distinct. i guess matt just finds it more of an inconvenience than a necessity and in that case doesnt bother. you're probably right. but we still love Bellamy, right?
@xsupernazix but in the recording, the (harmonic) didnt sound off straight away, it happened towards the end of the note. Harmonics are instant.... this sound wasn't. Therefore... Sustainer created the sound
@dhucksy Some people like their music, not the fact they are good at 'rocking'. He's a very clever and diverse songwriter to be able to come up with a simple C, Am, F, G verse/chorus structure with positive, generic lyrics- a song that contrasts every single song he's ever wrote. It's original for Muse. This is nowhere near one of their best, but I like it. He's so musical.
