Recently, I received an order of various pencils from the Musgrave Pencil Company in Shelbyville, TN. Included was a new line of pencils, Tennessee Red, which is made of cedar wood and comes in a handsome red box. I take a closer look at this American-made pencil.

I just got my first box yesterday! They are amazing! The wood is beautiful and the graphite is smooth as butter when you write with it! The white eraser is a visually pleasing delight - erases well too! I'm in joy over these.

The three stars are based on the Tennessee state flag, corresponding to the three regions of the stare: Eastern (Knoxville, etc), central (Nashville), and western (Memphis)

I recently bought some of these. I'm told the eraser gets better the more you use it.

I have them. The first several uses, the erasers are *very* tight. With some breaking in, they are excellent erasers But that break in is the only complaint I have with these otherwise glorious pencils!

I got my Tenn. Reds and Harvest 320 pro this past Monday. Your review sold me. Now I know this is a smooth, beautiful pencil that is a pleasure to use. Seem like I sharpen a little more but what's the downside of that. Thank you sir. Look forward to many more reviews.

I got my pack of those pencils today my dad ordered me some but I've tries the one with the yellow orange looking color and with the dark gold on it with a red strip on the tip of the pencil and with a pink red pencil and a grey one too there so cool

Hi Burt! The diameter of this pencil seems pretty standard to me. I'd have to measure it against a Ticonderoga or some other pencil, but it feels the same size to me. Thanks for watching!

Good review. I also want to make a comment about your handwriting in the intro. I see that in the word Tennessee your capital letter t looks just like the lower case letters s. Is that how it is normally written sometimes? I’ve not seen people write it like that.

Hi Sergio! No, they pencil has a nice dark black graphite. All the red is in the wood. Thanks!

Hi Youngerjk! I have no way of knowing for sure, but those two pencils sure feel the same on the page. Both are dark and very, very smooth writing. Thanks!
