I really don’t care what people say about Rudeous or Mushoku Tensei, but acting like the author is pro slavery and harassing him as if he is is absolutely ridiculous, what someone writes in a work of fiction does NOT reflect their real life views, yall gotta grow up. This is in response to him coming on twitter and all bait post “journalist” are making, judge the work, NOT the person behind it, journalists are so desperate for clicks they will write anything that will get them there.
When you approach a sensitive topic in an acritical fashion, you open yourself to critique. In other words, when you do something dumb, people will call you out and you need to big enough to accept it. His justification for Rudeus is also flimsy and it makes his main character dumber. This does not necessarily reflect the author's personal ideas, but it means the author made Rudeus a dumbass and racist who does not value all lives equally. That world's might normalize slavery, but Rudeus is not only from that world, he's from modern day japan. He doesn't need to end slavery by himself, but he could at least think in his heart of hearts that it is wrong. What the author might be saying unwillingly, is that he thinks the average japanese neet otaku in japan today, steeped in japan's dominant ideology, does not think slavery is a big deal. And that is a representation of the japanese viewer they themselves should not be happy about.
I can agree with you, in a round about way. I've noticed that a lot of anime/mangaka seem to be really big into the theme of servitude (maids and maid cafes, devoted servants, a deep enthusiasm to serve a "master", etc) in general, and n@zi germany as well. They also have a history of imperialism and an honor system that seems to aid in the abuse of subordinates. It's not a stretch to surmise that this seemingly cultural fondness for the concept of subjugation shows up within individual Japanese people more than some might be comfortable with admitting.
It doesn’t matter do it right or not people are going to cry about it and be overly sensitive for no reason and this dumb no one had this energy when other shows did it The author the right to make it their vision how ever they went And what do you want him too do about it stop being social justice in anime they are not real also he doesn’t see as a slave he didn’t even put a slave mark you cry baby’s are just looking for something to bitch about all you types need too touch grass

When they go into explaining how he had a second child it they explicitly describe what he does and they act like just blushing and saying something along the lines of "my bad" is okay and they never go back into it.

Unlike Ghost stories. This is Slavery that caused tremendous pain and suffering. Writing stories where it is shown to be in any ways acceptable because "culture" is like writing a story about Honor r*pe in the middle east and not criticizing it because it's "muh culture"
I hate slavery in isekai (I hate it all media & IRL, but I’m trying to stay on topic here). It gets normalized because the main character is always ‘good’ to their slave. It was a bad writing decision & really brought the episode down for me.

That’s sounds like a personal issue than don’t watch the show it that easy or make your story and it a show and story why are you people taking it so personally grow up
Where was all this energy when other shows did this people are just looking for a reason too cry about something and this isn’t a new thing I don’t understand the problem with showing slave in shows This why we don’t get good writing anymore
