I know you said you should start over If you get trichoderma, does that mean to completely throw away the monotub and make a new one or could you sterilize it?
Love the videos as you’re very informative! Awesome stuff! But!😅 In this video I noticed your “grow area / work space” is only on the floor? So much unused space/real-estate. Stacking those on shelves or a full room of Martha’s seems to be the way to go. Just wondering, is there a reason for this as well?

So glad you're back!!! You have been essential in my first attempt at this and so very appreciated! I just added the spawn to bulk in the inflatable monotub and have a couple of questions.. I did use the included liner but is it necessary? Also, I had some substrate left over bc I felt that if I added any more it would go way past the liner. I used a 3lb milo spawn bag and your mix of substrate if that helps 😁

So I have been fruiting for about 6 days now and I still do not see any pin formation, what could be some general reasons as to why I am not seeing any formation yet? Temp is around 75 humidity is good I think had 100% coverage and still nothing, I might be doing something wrong or I’m hoping I’m just being impatient

(Because you said you need to use half of it) My second question is, is how much grain do you add to the spawn bag (it’s not clear how big your cup is). Can I use rolled oats instead of whole oats? Yes, I usually only use one bulk recipe per tub. There will be some left over that you can use for another tub but it won't be enough to do two tubs. I usually do 3 pounds of spawn and 3-5 pounds of bulk. I am not sure about rolled oats. You're videos are great. We used to intentionally introduce Trichoderma harzianum at a forestry nursery I once worked at. We would use it on a few million douglas fir seedlings a year because it would combat fusarium and botrytis which are both big issues in styrofoam block seedling monocultures.
Can anyone help me, I’m worried I have trich but I’ve tried tried the q-tip test but have clean q-tips after rubbing the “area”. The “area” is blue not green on the myc. I’m leaning towards bruising from heavy water droplets during misting. Any help would be appreciated.
@@JedF2010 thank you very much! That is what I had figured, but the maturing aspect did not cross my mind. Very interesting. I discovered the blueing as I had finished my first flush and was picking the fruits. The day after soaking and putting back in the monotype, I discovered even more blueing. Which I would think to associate with temp change, or possible handling. Appreciate the reply and putting my mind at easy! Much love 🙏
Hi! I have found your videos very educational. I am in need of advise: I already loss one mini-monotube, which was my first trying to grow shrooms, to trichoderma (it was placed inside a fruiting chamber) and I don't want to loose another. I have been reading and watching content and I was wondering if I put my mini-minotube with the lid closed (with some air-holes covered with micropore in the box part) inside my fruiting chamber, will that work? My intention is to not expose the mycelium directly to the elements (therefore, to possible contaminants) by keeping the tube closed, but giving it air and humidity through the fruiting chamber, opening the big box to keep air flowing and spraying water, so the closed mini-monotube will recibe both in a indirect way. Does it makes sense? Do you think it can work? Thanks!
I have a layer of black that began to cover my substrate and covered a few mushrooms. It can be scraped off (Burma …in case it may have relevance) the caps with moisture and friction. My guess is that they are spores, but they seem so thick…it should be mentioned that this happened when I was on vacation and I had a sitter watching the grow and they let a few caps stay too long before picking them. Have you ever had spores release so thick that they covered the caps of the other mushrooms? Or do you think this is mold?

Just want to say I was one of the pre-orders on the first wave of inflatable tubs and it's still doing it's job wonderfully. Haven't had to patch it yet either, quite durable. It was really cool to see a whole room full of them like that.
@@thcamccormick6107 huh. never had that issue. I just hit it with bleach and scrub down as usual with a sponge. rinse out as normal. plop it down, iso it, good to go.
I definitely have trichoderma on my substrate. My question is - can I use this monotub after I toss this batch out? Obviously I would thoroughly clean it and sprayed it down with 70% alcohol. But should I just toss the monotub and make a new one?

Great videos! My question is; is contamination dangerous? I will often have a flush but there is also some green contamination as well as some white fuzz contamination. I’ve eaten some of these shrooms anyway and felt no ill effects. Thoughts?

I've been growing mushrooms for years and years this year I can't grow anything it's totally infested with trichoderma I don't know what's going on I am so frustrated I could cry. I will get fully colonized grain bag I will get my sterilized substrate and be so careful usually if you have good green spawn it'll take over substrate and stop anything from growing this is ridiculous I get total annihilation of my substrate by trichoderma. I haven't been able to grow anything in three months basically for most of the summer it's like my whole house is infested with it. Am I gonna have to just wait until winter? I have never had to ask anyone for advice on growing mushrooms I've been working in sterile labs my whole life

take your contamanition outside and put it in teh earth under leaves or mix in straw- and they will grow if you got a warm spot during winter- definetly during summer- - i actually made a sizable patch out under an oak tree with a few contaminated jars and even a cased box. outside changes everything where inside its like we hord and live with these molds and icky stuff
Huge fan first off. I have a question....storing your spore prints, how do you usually store them? I also ordered some boomer shroomer substrate. Would I hydrate it or does it come ready to use? Thanks a bunch for all you do!
You can store a spore print in a cool dark place. You will need to pasteurize the bulk before you use it. You will need to boil 16 cups of water and then pour it in the bucket.
hi, can you take 2-3 mushrooms from one monotub, put it in an empty monotub with the substrate, and wait for the spores to drop. will it then grow again without using the grain bag?
I tried a uncle bens rice grain and it was white 1-2 days ago and i looked at it the 3 packs i had and it had turned green it looked completely taken over with a light green! Did i leave it too long? What did i do wrong? I ended up adding the 3 small packs of inoculated white rice 🌾 to my substrate added about 10 sprays of boiled and cooked down water and put elastic band around the top and left it at about 25c. This is day 1 I wonder what it is. Can mycelium be a slight green colour or am i kidding myself lol? Any advice guys? X

Dumb question by saying toss the tube do you mean just that flush, or the entire container? Also after such co tamination what is the best way to clean the container?
That flush. You can clean the tub and reuse it. The best way to clean the inflatable monotub is to wash it out with water and washcloth to get all the big chunks out. Then, spray it down with 70% isopropyl and wipe it down with a paper towel to get all the fine residue out. I spray it and wipe it down like 4 - 5 times before I start to use it. As a final precaution, I let it sit overnight and then spray it down 1 more time before using it. You want it to be as sterile as possible. You can also push out the corners inside out to make sure to get everything from the creases.

I'm humidifying hydrogen peroxide 50/50 mixed with water every few days . Crossing my fingers but seems like a great idea so far. Any tips would be appreciated.
