I think your analysis of this battle was pretty spot on. Ice's rythms were more technically demanding while Wing's rounds sounded more structured. One of the things that played against Ice was that throughout this competition he reused more sounds from his kit than Wing did as you pointed out just from this battle. I'd recommend checking out GBB24 solo wildcard winners, so you get familiar with the beatboxers that are going to compete this year in Tokyo. If it's two long for 1 video you can split in 2 parts.

Dude, you gotta checkout osis. Right new osis and ice are the dudes to watch. Both of them are incredibly unique and masters of what they do. Both new school, both amazing. Checkout "upside" by osis. It's one of his wildcards to get accepted into a competition. And that 2nd round by ice was probably the biggest and most hyped routine of 2023 so that's why everyone knew it. You should checkout his recorded and mastered version of the routine, it's really good. It's called "glitch"

A problem that has been happening for years in the GBB small final is that for some reason, either they arrive very tired or they don't give it complete importance, but they end up throwing perhaps their "worst" rounds in that battle. The two competitors in their previous battles delivered much more solid rounds, with better structures and techniques. In the same way, Wing is an incredible beatboxer, years ago he deserved to be in gbb, as for Ice, he was a complete surprise, no one had ever heard of him, and out of nowhere he appears, he is top 2 in the rankings by wildcard and comes 4th in the in-person event, and he is only 19 years old and since 2020 he has been doing beatboxing, it is really a very short time and he still does an incredible job. As for what you said about the importance of time, it is something that is really penalized, but some judges overlook it, since perhaps the first and only time they hear it they do not pay enough attention and after that there is no turning back. I recommend that you see the battle of River vs Abo ice, since you saw both beatboxers, it would be very interesting for you to see them face off, it is a very good battle for both of them. This is such a dope battle. Stoked for the upload. abo ice and wing are both incredible. Both with very distinct and unique styles. Abo ice is a new school beast with huge stage presence, tons of unique sounds and complete mastery of those sounds. Wing is not really old school but he has the old school roots with new school flair and is incredible at composing beatbox into songs that sound very full.

Where wing shines is his quality, every sound he outputs sounds very accurate to the sound he's trying to replicate.

I recommend you reacting to GBB21 river vs colaps, I think you’d really like that one, or improver’s gbb23 solo wildcard round 2. If you want to do loopstation, my personal favorite battle is NME vs brez gbb19 although I don’t know if it would fit your style since a lot of brez’s rounds are rap.

It's literally jam/flow session vs few new sounds. Abo boring, Wing is the king. Most can tell the difference, which is good sign for beatbox.
