Great video! Great outlook too! Being a Zappa fan I am happy that someone else is promoting his music and his opinions. If you don't know Frank's music but want to know, then get some suggestions from a fan. He's got over 60 albums now so there is something there for everyone. However even the biggest Zappa fan can't like them all, as his music is so diverse and no two albums are the same. The suggestions on this vid are great but I'd like to suggest the albums Apostrophe and Overnight Sensation. These are great for rock fans and guitar fans in general. Every guitarist should know his stuff as I reckon he's the greatest guitarist of all time. Hendrix comes a close second. Peace out! 🎵🎸🎶

This was really great, man! Hilarious, and sad, but true. Culture is an industry too, my friend, thus the “sameness” you described in various ways, like with the persons coming into your store. People like that may be dull, but just remember (or realize, if you haven’t) that people like that are being manipulated in various ways. That’s in Zappa’s music too, as you likely know. He talked about that from the beginning, on “Freak Out!”, if I’m remembering correctly. If I’d change anything, in terms of your categories/templates of pop songs, I’d alter, “I want to put my penis in your vagina”, to simply, “Yo, let’s fuck!”, or something more general, just bc these days everyone of every sex/gender/sexuality are singing about fucking in every way one can imagine. I guess girls were singing about it back in the day too, but it definitely wasn’t as common. The reality is that selling sex to young straight dudes was far more profitable for most music history, and still definitely is, despite the broader diversity of sex/sexuality in today’s pop songs.. I’m not criticizing that, I just think it’s undeniably the case.. Hell, it’s mostly a good thing no? Frank certainly had some of the most creative sexuality in his songs, but with a brilliant nudge and a wink. It’s one of the things that got me into his music, after the wild creativity of the compositions. Anyway, in general, I’d say you definitely got the template for “top 40” and/or billboard hits correct. I’d agree with Frank that this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but just not for me. It all serves a purpose and exists for various reasons (mostly $), but it’s hardly “art” imo, at least not most of it.. Where the “bad thing(s)” come into the picture is the structures and system of the industry, and the corruption that is basically inevitable with that much money being made, and the fact that the money is really all that matters for the industry, with any concern for “art” being an afterthought at the absolute best (if that). Unfortunately, that’s just one of the problems with “art” these days, in these kind of economies, in general, but that’s another discussion... Great work! ✌️🤘
