The new Sterling Cutlass HSS in firemist silver is phenomenal for the money. I upgraded all the electronics except the output jack. It's as good or better now than any S-type on the market under $1500.
That context video is the best possible presentation of the uniqueness and constant striving for the best innovations for the player. Thanks for putting all that essential background together. Much appreciated.
Chase, I finally got to a video where you can make comments, so props for enabling that. Love the music you're doing brother man. Keep em comin.. The money really has to be good to sign a 10 year non-compete. 5 is a more normal contract. That said, CBS paid a tidy sum to make that happen. Leo was one smart individual, for sure.
I like the feel of the cutlass, it is fantastic, it has amazing build quality. The only reason I got rid of mine is, I think the active noiseless “silent circuit” pickups sound dead. The bridge (trem unit) also is very finicky. Great video.
@@thatmanonapedal I have an American professional II Stratocaster now. In my opinion it is a better instrument for me. However stock, it needs, locking tuners, better springs and a thicker block. Out of the box the musicman comes with those features. The necks feel identical. Personally I like Fenders trem unit better. Just didn’t connect with it. Hopefully who has it enjoys it, I would love to try other Music mans.
@@Max.Greger the roasted has an xtra capacitor. They said to stop some noise with pedals. The original is built better. Less china parts. They really fucked it up for 650 dollars more. Binding sucks. Just a huge step down. I am losing my excitement for musicman. I picked up a Mexican strat and put lace pickups. Unbelievable. Best strat i ever had. Got it for 100. Unbelievable!!!!!
@@Brucie2 ^^ thanks for your opinion. Years ago I built a 'partscaster' with a warmouth neck (birdseye + rosewood, large radius), a japanese body and lollar PUs, Locking tuners. It sounds so good and plays like butter ;-)
@@Brucie2 I'm in Munich/Germany (a few thousand miles away) - so the good guitar parts and necks are not too easy to get here or really expensive due to tax and shipping.
I also had to take the ashtray off for the trem to work for me but my shirts get caught on those hooks when it’s floating :( - have you dealt with that?
Chase I have been playing clean tones on this guitar and they sound extremely well! Theres this beautiful glassy musical quack that I cant seem to get out of a Fender. Have you noticed this yourself or is it just me imagining things? Even the Humbucker seemed much better quality than fenders for high gain
What's all this elusive magic? Just use the same pickups, the same wood and the same electronics! I think all that crap is in people's minds! I mean what's the big secret? Do the vintage ones have an extra winding of copper around the magnet? It's easy to count the windings 😅.... So silly
you lost me at the battery thing. I know these can be played passively so i wish you had of played it passively. Relying on a battery can be a real drag
They've actually gotten a bit hotter recently, but still vintage voiced for sure. The Sterling line offers great features for the price and make killer mod platforms for heavier tones. I'm in mine under $800 with straplocks and case, and that's with all new electronics including Seymour Duncan pickups.
@@andrewbecker3700 I wish I was the guy with the skills, and the $, to modify guitars....anyway, the way I think, for the price you pay for a guitar like this, you shouldn't have to mod. it, that's just me.
Some was saying it was because of the noiseless circuit I have the noiseless circuit in my Axis and there is no weakness so I do not think it's not the active noiseless circuit causing the problem.
I'm a big fan of Music Man guitars I have several. You're really good guitar player but you're tone/sound is very noisy all those open strings that you're hitting for just one note make your playing sound sloppy. I appreciate that you're trying to pull off SRV riffs here but it's not working.
@@ChaseWalkerBandofficial sounds killer. I’m about to go 100% plug-ins and sell all my analog gear. Too easy on the computer to get sick tone like that.
