So far... 55:40 discussing the offering of payment to a studio for interning as opposed to Uni fees, genius! aha. Great upload, have you guested on any other podcasts?
AdamIvy I’ve learnt so much from you and you’ve really helped clear up a lot of questions that I’ve had and made it all seem possible. So inspirational man. Keep it going :)
Wow Kudos bars!!! We were poor coming up too but I would live at a friends house from time to time and his mom would buy boxes of those things and when I was going back home I’d put a bunch in my pockets so I would have something to eat back at my house. It became a joke the older we got he would check my pockets before I left 🤣
Theres always value in listening to someone's journey who has become successful, I may not watch this all in one go but I'll certainly be watching in parts until the end. It's well worth it.
Hey Adam, this is very insightful, and I'm so grateful for this. Around the first 18 minutes you talk about your adolescence and your teenage years, and how, financially, it wasn't so great then, but you still found a way to hustle, whether it was selling these rock "crystals" or being a paperboy to flipping cars. You teach me that there's always a way an opportunity out there, and that people are just lazy to actually take that first step of action. It reminded me of the Instagram post with the sweet looking car; you've really hustled and earned it! After that, around 28:33, you talk about your RU-vid journeys. I really loved how you said, "even though I sucked, I had the balls to do it." This is really pushing me to make a RU-vid channel. I've been trying to take notes on the things you say about RU-vid. Around 36:00, I'm just really grateful that you're are just a man that wants to help and give so much value to those around you. You talk about how there are so many people out there giving out "mentorship" and "direction" while they're doing exactly the opposite, but what you say is pure guidance from what you have learned the past ten years. Thank you, Adam. Around 50:00, You talk about college. You really put into perspective as a guy who's graduated high school with a 1.7 GPA and dropped out of college in the first three months, that you don't need to make a $100,000 decision at the age of 18, to get some paper that you might not do anything with or take action with. This makes me contemplate college, and really focus on marketing and producing music. At around 1:11:00, I love how you say: "Legacy is more important than the money... If I died tomorrow, are people going to dedicate a park to me just because of my beats?" As someone who's jumping into this music career world head on, you put so much perspective on what kind of mindset I should have. It's nice and all to have all the money coming in, but legacy is truly what's more important. Around 1:20:00, I really enjoyed listening to your story about how some guy "of the Lord" yelled at you for your "ungratefulness". It makes me think that there are a lot of people who are blinded by many things, such as fame, money, and power, and that will bleed through to others who don't deserve it. Around 1:44:00, the question was about how to balance work and life. I loved how you say they're pretty much one and the same for you; that it's not the cliche "if you work at your passion, you'll never work a day in your life.," but since it is your passion, your work flow is very well integrated. I also took away that scheduling is very important for balance, that the people and the things you love almost require you to schedule them in, because they're important, and not the other way around. At first I was like, you schedule your girl from 6-8:30 sharp? But, after your explanations, it makes more sense, and it is something that I want to integrate in my life as well. Scheduling will also allow me to do the things with purpose (I think you had some kind of challenge to walk with purpose for a couple days and see how that'll change you too). Once again Adam, this is gold. You've already put so much value within me, and I thank you so much for that. I look forward to your future content, and I'm really thinking of seeking you out for that personal consultation/mentorship soon.
Glad I dropped out in college before I got sucked into the hive minded lost musician industry and years of university debt, if you have a brain you can literally learn exactly what their teaching you by buying a few books and putting the time in
I'll be watching this all the way to the end 🙏 I still plan to spread motivation through music and your information is incredible man, so thanks to you from everyone else watching!
I watched the whole thing, kept my interest the whole time. What I love the most is how it seems people are getting the memo that formal education with a 100K bill is not where it is at. Most learn by doing which is how I am shaping the K-8 educational program I am running now.
For those of you that clicked on this vlog and immediately scrolled down to read the comments first... WATCH THIS!! Don't look at the time, and if you do, trust me when I tell you, it goes by so fast. With that said... This is such a good podcast! The podcasters ask very smart questions, which in itself produces a smart, informative and inspiring dialog, and on top of that, it does not leave out the witty sense of humor and friendly banter that the three gentlemen have throughout. Watch this! Listen to it! Trust
I’ve recently subscribed to you, Adam. Your videos are so inspiring, motivational and helpful that lately, whenever I drive somewhere, I’ve been listening to more of your talks rather than actual music. Which, btw, do you have your own podcast? I would definitely subscribe to that too. 22:13 is my favourite part - emotional triggers are what drive the listener to check out more of your stuff, hitting that like button and subscribe, and all that other jazz. And it’s something I’m working on with my content. Thank you so much for these videos, Adam!
This was literally the first Podcast I ever watched and sat through the whole thing actively listening! You are just blasting us with truth man! Huge inspiration for any aspiring music entrepreneur and anybody that does not want the average life! If you know it or not.. you help a lot of people a whole lot!! Love goes out Brother
I dig this a lot. Too many solid points to pick just one but I must say, It's crazy that I also played trumpet in high school AND my 'passion' back then was cars. I flipped and 86' Honda Prelude for a 93' Mazda MX6. I havent owned 70, yet, but I'm pushinig the 35+ mark. I also laughed really really hard when you mention that the people that they have come speak at unsaid audio college *cough full sail cough* didn't even go to college. SO glad I dodged that bullet.
So finally after 2 weeks I listend fully to it and it was worth the time. So much Inspirationen and you three have a special chemistry. Thanks for that and my favorite part is when you talked about your move out and how you started really from the bottom, didn’t know that by now! Stay real as you are😌
Found so much value, inspiration and motivation in this video man. All of it really resonated but specifically to be able to listen to a vulnerable Adam share his life story, and actually see Keem and Chuck's facial expressions by feeling the motivation and first hand was priceless, honestly. When you say "if I can make somebody's day suck a little less" ( 21:13 ) that really struck me as I feel exactly the same. Also when you talk about how content is more effective when its Emotionally Triggering ( 22:12 ) "if you can get somebody to FEEL" - that's all I'm about, It was even included in an Artist Statement exercise I did a few years back lol. Thanks for sharing all of this wisdom boss!
If you think that I'm gonna watch an hour and a half long video about you... ... you're absolutely fucking right. Downloaded this for my flight tomorrow.
honestly, I didn’t trust you before this video. I forreal thought you were just some guy blowing smoke out their ass trying to monetize people. you really just carry yourself with confidence and know your worth. it can be intimidating until you get the full story. really helped me hearing that we have a similar upbringing and that were both from wisconsin! gained more of my support for sure
So SICK Adam!!! I used to hustle that paper route life too haha..Honestly I would totally go back and do it again. The relationships you build in that process is so precious!
Watched this in its entirety today...so much value. I’m glad I made it to the end because the work/life balance part really hit me. Now I’m a ‘single dad’ of 3 kids, elderly parents, bunch of nieces and nephews...gonna start implementing a structured schedule around ‘life’ rather than just my music. Thank you again sensei 🥋.
I like the videos man. I have yet to watch this and I'll edit some favorite parts of mine but im exited to listen to this throughout my studio sessions! Continuing before and through 17:04 I really enjoyed hearing about how you ran into some nice quirks through your much younger years. "The small things". It's nice to hear that some people can do some good acts often no matter how low things may get or what the situation will be or turn to. Like a small cheer in your favor or a small break of a sort.
Ear infection. Don't do surgery. Do natural remedies. Watch Barbara O"Neill talking about using onions to heal ear/sinus infections. I was diabetic for 25 years. NOT no more. I'm controlling with a healthy vegetable diet, exercise and rest. The interview with this guys was great. I enjoyed the honesty about choices that were made, like spending $100,000. for a music degree. Past mistakes.....I made plenty but coming back is great or not doing any more costly mistakes. I also enjoyed hearing about your family early life. I can totally relate to that. It sounded all real. Money and time ....which one to choose really depends like you said......what do you have, time ore money. Gracias Adamivy.
This video was so inspiration for me. My circumstances are very similar to what you described starting from. I appreciate your willingness to put your story out there. This video hit me hard. I don’t want to sound dramatic and say I think it’s going to change my life, but it really did have a huge impact on me. Thank you! I appreciate you!
Was just gonna watch for five minutes while I ate a banana before I started working. I had to force myself to pause it twenty minutes in. Your stories are great! Right now I'm one of two white guys in a ghetto apartment complex in a new city. Also had a couple of attempted home invasions. Hoping my story turns out like yours.
My grandfather loved being a teacher. We need people like he was. I celebrate my grandfather's legacy, even if I aim different. My mother also loves being an architect. She doesn't make that much money, but she's cool with it.
I can appreciate what you said about scheduling in life. I'm more of a perceiver than I am a judger. I try to make everything fun and purposeful, though. It just works better if I have the right attitude about all of it! ...
I strongly relate with some of your stories, not exactly the same jobs and experiences of course, but I had a little candy store (a box of various goodies) I would carry with me class to class in high school, and I've tried to start so many businesses, but those were more of a distraction because I wanted to be my own boss and work on building something, but in my head, music wasn't a "real job" (even though it literally is?) I am in your masterclass and am so excited to grow!
Oh, man. Worst mistake in my life was enrolling and getting my diploma in Sound Production. Still paying off my fees to this day (since Australia has a thing called fee-help, where you pay back the institute once you’ve reached a certain threshold of annual earnings with your job). So shit.
Brilliant listening to you guys im only an hour in but just wanted to let you know you have a new fan and more importantly (for me) i have a new Mentor ,Respect from west midlands ,england
No problem ill be sure to pick your brain on the “how to’s” on current music promotion ,thanks again it seems there’s not many sincere souls left in this Art
Damn i almost didn't click on this video Its just what i needed to hear. Sometimes the truth hurts guys but if you want what most dont have you must be willing to do what most wont do.
Hey Adam! I love seeing this kind of content from you. Have you ever considered having your own podcast where you interview successful artists to hear their tips on how they made it? I think you’d kick ass at that. ✌️
Thank you for spreading the message that you can be successful marketing music online from anywhere! I know it's true but so common to hear you can't make money off of streams, etc!
Adam how is the best way to market my children's music with out getting killed. I know there are many people that say they have the answers. But they don't. You seem to be straight up. Thanks.
Adam wtf bro !!! I mean the entire fkn thing fire 🔥 idk I found u for a reason. Like u fell from heaven right into my lap. And I’m not sure how it even happened. Lost for words man thank you 🙏 so much.if I do get that call Idk just Wow muck luv thank youAdam.

1:10:05 is literally me. Caught onto something good, worked 19 hours a day 4 days in a row until the song was finished. It’s day 5 and I’m totally malnourished and had to begin eating again 😂 but well worth it. I know I’m doing the right thing.
I may be one of the few who is doing what I am in my own lane. I have been mostly focused on what comes intuitively to me and it takes a couple of times for me to get that out of me. And, so I have to practice a bunch of times before I'm ready to do an entire video. I still don't look that great on camera until I know exactly what I'm going to be doing in the video. It's all planned out for me! (:
