It's a shame that people who quit the game, people who swore to Vanilla and TBC, wont ever experience the musical masterpieces that Cataclysm brought to the game. In fact, that are those veteran players who just zoom through leveling, turn out game music and listen to their own stuff, who are completely unaware of this new music. That's a real orchestra, those are real musicians, and that's a unique song for Arathi, making the zone so majestic!
@@naer3513 Artistically speaking, WoW always is on point. Tbf i am not a big retail player, when i do play it is mostly to appreciate the work of talented musicians and artists, but eh thats my way of enjoying the game.
Nah, the original Arathi Highlands was the best. I am one of those who quit playing when Cataclysm launched. What an awful expansion. And each and everyone after that. Too much changed. Flying with mounts everywhere? Nope. And no one has to do any work nowadays. Everything is made easy. They say Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are practically deserted nowadays when everyone levels somewhere else.

Music and land such as this kept me constantly inspired to do Arathi Basin battlegrounds for the reputation. I play Alliance and after months and months of battles with terrible loses and sweet sweet victories... I was proud to get the Achievement "Knight of Arathor!" and am proud to wear the Tabard!
recently ive been feeling depressed that i cant relive how wow used to make me feel, im going to make a new account, new faction, new class, and start fresh, make new friends and take it slow. im excited for this new chapter. im not ready to give up this game yet...after all it was my childhood.
Oh jesus... I was looking for that because it plays in Heroes of the Storm. I had to extract the entire music folder and came here because saw No Choir edition there and... THIS IS IT! This is the song i was looking for! I love those strings!
In vanilla 75% of the quests in this zone needed a group of 5 players it was epic i will never forget that shit when i started playing the game again in cata and i heared this music i was like i will never quit this game again.
I didnt play wow untill middle of WoD, I do visit Arathi so now and then just to listen to the music but indeed wouldnt go to level a alt there.Arathi Basin is the best battleground in all of WoW tho.
This song makes me think of all the hardship my character went through. All the battles, all the sacrifices and fallen allies. So much death and despair. Yet, hope somehow still remains. Even though I am tattered and broken, I will carry on.
I love this song. It's a reminder to Humanity that this is where it all began. It's pure, sacred ground for the race and, by extension, for the Alliance. A reminder for all those AB groups to what they're fighting for here, beyond the heeds of 'benefactors' and supply routes.
i came often to the arathi highlands just to see this perfect and so beautiful landscape... this were the moments when i asked my self why the real world cant be as beautiful as this game... take my soul....forever.
The Arathi Zone actually makes you feel feels if you're a lore lover, to me is symbolizes the downward spiral of the human race all together, the first ever human city, the once glorious city, in utter ruins with undead at it's door step, rather sad actually.
I remember when cata came I remember the day 7december 2010 I loved this expansion cause of the worgen race and the music and this became my personal favorite expansion with the lore of deathwing!!!
Back in 2006 when I first stunned by Arathi's BGM, time```````````those were my best days in school. I really hope someday blizzard can make another signature MMO
it was Danath Trollbane's most trusted and hardned soliders that stayed to guard the keep while he went to the outlands, but when he returns, he will return stromgarde and it's sorrounding lands to it's former glory! :D
I remember when I was on a wow 10 day trial, so when i was capped at lvl 20, i went exploring the eastern kingdoms. Ah, the thrills of discovering new territories, while always keeping an eye out for higher lvl mobs ^^
Never leveled in Arathi Highlands before... but this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. I look forward to bringing all of my alts here in the future.
The music at 3:07 is simply beautiful (dat piccolo); It's a shame the zone itself doesn't really meet up to expectations. But hey, it won't be too bad, you have this music.
This should've been alliance only song. Because it's sad and at the same time gives hope. Horde in Arathi does not deserve that. Only the Stromgardians and their allies deserve this great piece of art.

@AlienXCherie This is both Twilight Highlands and Arathi Highlands music, the track on the OST is called "Tempest Wake" It is super pretty, I love that zone :)
@cleoneast Apparently, he's been killed by the Horde and resurrected by the val'kyr; he's now a Forsaken questgiver in that zone. And yeah, aside from Stormwind, the humans are alright, though Theramore is my favourite.
@cossack77 You are forgetting that the Forsaken are still in Gilneas, there's a freaking battleground there. And it does not matter if Silverpine was a Horde zone since vanilla; they still have a large amount of their forces there. They also have a heavy amount of forces in WPL, Hillsbrad, Gilneas, and Hinterlands. Their forces are stretched extremely thin; they -do not have the manpower- to take Stromgarde, unless Blizzard is going to asspull it. All they have in Arathi is a tiny camp.
while i thought the game went downhill from TBC on, i do like how the music is'nt a 1-2min song looped over and over, questing to that was torture! 10 min tracks ftw :)
@cossack77 Whatever helps you sleep at night bro. The Alliance was making the Horde look like fools the entire zone. Drunk Orcs are getting their boats sunk by one or two Worgen, most of Sylvanas' best troops are lost in a trapped mine, the humans in the zone are becoming immune to the val'kyr because of the Worgen curse, and the 7th Legion comes along and literally makes a bunch of emotionless zombies cry. That's LITERALLY. It's no wonder Sylvanas was on the verge of tears herself at the end.
wow-one.com ; this is the best vanilla + tbc realm that u can possibly find right now, and there 99.9% no bugs at all since the last remaining 0.1% are just some really minor ones which do not affect the gameplay of the game in any significant way possible. just check it out and enjoy, no need to thank me
@4lli4nce thrall was raised there as a slave by a human dude who was a pretty evil guy. he forced thrall to fight as a gladiator for years, and ended up killing this human girl who was thralls only childhood friend. Thrall ended up escaping and using the powers of shamanism to call a storm down on the place and totally destroyed it.
@cossack77 The battleground is on the coastal area near the gate itself. The Alliance controls the city, and the entirety of the southern portion of the kingdom. The Forsaken are barely holding onto a shred, and Worgen are still pouring into Lordaeron proper despite the fact that they have a presence there. And it was a strategic withdrawel, or did you forget about the cowering Forsaken soldiers, asking if the humans were gone yet? The Worgen are still in Silverpine, and even in Southshore.
@cossack77 First of all, had you actually seen the quests in question, you would realize that it's the other way around. The player gets quests to save cowering Forsaken soldiers from the 7th Legion in Pyrewood. The first time you see the 7th Legion the questgiver is asking if the scary humans are gone yet. Second, these are the people who withstood a direct assault from Naxxramas, and you think that they're scared of being raised? Sending non-humans isn't fear, it's exploiting a weakness.
Remember back in Vanilla when you would WALK all the way across Arathi to Stromgrade only find find that you had no ammo left? Ahhh... my first WoW table flip. Nostalgia.

@cossack77 Actually, what the Forsaken faced in Silverpine was only a small fraction of what the Alliance actually sent to Gilneas. In Gilneas itself there are the Nelves, the bulk of the 7th Legion, as well as the rest of the Worgen. What Sylvanas faced was a fraction of the Alliances available forces. Finally, no Generals were killed. An officer was, but he was not a general. In addition, the Alliance base is Gilneas city, not Pyrewood. And no humans were available to raise in Silverpine.
@4lli4nce Well in the lore its said that the human tribes were united by one guy named Arathor i think and they made their kingdom there and named it Strom. After he died the humans went to another places and made another kingdoms and the united human are no more. After that the many wars happened which brought them back together.
regardless of the discussion below me, it will be interesting to see who takes this area. personally i hope it's the Alliance, humans need a morale boost after their troubles in Gilneas and the costly campaign in northrend.
@Lastbutnotleast95 gilneas is lost forever not because of lore reasons, but because of gameplay reasons. It's too close to silverpine, wich is a horde leveling area, so as long as wow exists it will never be recovered. This is the reason you don't see a horde town near alliance leveling areas like westfall or darkshore or loch modan. maybe after wow is over, maybe it would be recovered, but as long as wow exists, gilneas is lost in limbo forever.
i'm a horde player, but i think the forsaken's going to get what's 'coming to them' sooner or later. with Cataclysm blizz wanted to give them a lot of power and territorial expansions and shit on the Alliance in northern EK, so danath suddenly saying hi would contradict that. also, blizz didn't want to make any changes to the TBC zones for cata
I'm a massive Forsaken fanboy, and even I want to see Danath lead Stromgarde back to glory. I do think that if the Forsaken's real goal/excuse is the preservation of Lordaeron, they should lay off invading non-lordaeronian territory such as Gilneas, Hinterlands and Arathi for now.
@OmegaTrooper I'd say they could make him return ( with his awesome beard and not random human face) and restore Storm glory in some humongous quest line. But there's one problem, that will not ever be overcomed. Horde is playable too, so zone will not get redesigned just like that :/.
@cossack77 But that's the thing; they don't PUSH the Alliance anywhere. They cannot win through conventional military means, and when the 7th Legion arrives, it seals the deal. The entire reason Sylvanas blackmails Crowley is because she knows this, and wants some breathing space. Second, as I said before, the 7th Legion conquered Naxxramas. They're used to fighting undead FAR more powerful than the Forsakenl you think that they're scared of Sylvanas' little mini-Scourge? After beating Naxx?
@cossack77 Yes, because winning three zones isn't enough for the Forsaken? If the Forsaken capture Stromgarde, there would be nothing to stop them from pushing south into the Wetlands, which would not happen due to gameplay balance. In addition, the Alliance already holds a portion of Stromgarde. The Forsaken have nothing but a tiny camp in the zone, and their forces are already phenomenally stretched; they don't have the manpower to take Stromgarde.
@PureWhiteShadows I was meaning the players who started playing as DK's in Cata if you read carefully. What I meant, since you didn't even bother to read carefully was: Players that started in either Vanilla or TBC and then at Wotlk ACTUALLY bothered to lvl up a DK for the sake of having one. Also, I am guessing you've never played a DK anyway.
@cossack77 Then technically the Burning Legion helped them out because they fight the Scourge as well. The Forsaken are not raising undead with free will. They are raising corpses and using them as drudges to attack their enemies. They even mind control them in the Western Plaguelands, right next to Argent held bases. The Arathi Highlands still make up the Kingdom of Stromgarde, and the Forsaken are invading. There is no way around that.
@nintenerd91 i understand that, however it's been open for testing for a long time now (it was one of the first old world zones to be open) and even though testers have been telling blizz repeatedly to change it, that it sucks, etc...they havent done a thing yet, I hope you're right though
@mastachiefs49 Furthermore, in Cataclysm the Night Elves gave aid to the Gilneans because the Worgen curse was primarily their fault, and as such they sought to at least remedy they loss of individuality and bestial mind set it had given them. The Gilneans themselves had never seen a night elf until this time (WCIII was after WCII, and they've been locked up ever since) so they could never have been former allies. Moreover, "Buddy", they've hated the horde since the invasion. I know my facts.
@Arrunlol Thats perfectly normal :-) I quit for a while during wotlk after Ulduar was released and the music made me come back when ICC was introduced XD
@TeamAwesomeness2 Prince Trollbane is now a Forsaken. That's the difference. Besides, I don't think the Arathians would be all too pleased with a Gilnean takeover of Stromgarde. I am expecting they might expand on its story, since they went through the trouble of having Galen become a Forsaken and them claiming his sword once again, but who knows.
@Lastbutnotleast95 ejem, Darnassus isn't close to orgrimmar, there's 2 zones between them, and theramoore isn't close to orgrimar either, it's 2 zones to the south. Gilneas however is litteraly 5 minutes from Undercity, and rite next to silverpine wich is a forsaken leveling zone. Take as a reference the alliance 10-20 zones (westfall, darkshore, loch modan, and bloodmyst island) and see how many horde bases are near them? none. Same goes for horde lvling zones (azara silverpine ect)
It's kinda sad that this is pretty much the only zone in the game that didn't get any real changes. Every thing about it in cataclysm beta currently is pretty much 99% exactly the same.
