2:36 god dammit. Just sitting here remembering walking up to the first tree and hearing that tune for the very...first...time. When life was just so simple. Sitting my my room, at 2 am, just running around Teldrassil without a worry in the world. That tune...hits me so hard. I can't explain why. EVERYTHING just comes back to me at that instant.
Lyrics: [Darnassian and English] Nordrassil - Crown of the Heavens Zin-Azshari - Glory of Azshara Quel'dorei - Children of Noble Birth/High Elves Nordrassil Belore Adore - Sun be with you. Elune Adore - Elune be with you. [Below repeats once near the end.] (Nordrassil) Elune... Zin-Azshari x2 Adore - Be with you.
Cata was my first time playing WoW and the last time it felt like it actually was WoW to me. The feel of the expansion just somehow RADIATED pure raw and true World of Warcraft energy.
Dave Short TBH, it was a pretty good idea. Most players where really excited about it, and Cata's launch was simply amazing. (That's probably why the highest amount of subscribers ever was reached in the beginning of cata)
All the boredom of leveling removed, and leveling made 10 times faster, so i started lvling more alts, not just keep playing my priest on horde side and druid on ally side since vanilla, cos questing sucked hard back then. Boring, useless, and 1-2 week of nolife or 3-4 months playing 3-4 hrs per day to get max lvl...
I started playing in BC, and I still play to this day, we're up to MoP, and the trailer for WoD is out, and I've been playing a Night Elf Druid ever since BC. So, power to the Night Elves!
Song brought tears to my eyes hearing it, and flying up to the world tree, for the first time after Cataclysm's release. It brings tears to my eyes now because of the overwhelming nostalgia and grief I feel, for the loss of the single greatest era in online gaming that I'll ever know... MMO Morghulis.
Josh Sweetvale Ich hope you're not comparing Tolkien with Blizzards-Bookwriters for real...xD *Tolkien nerdgasm start* First: Tolkiens Elves dont sail to heaven, they sail to valinor and stay alive! Secont: Elves dont get sad, they get tired (try to imagine living a couple thousand years bro) Third: Tolkien invented the elves in the way we see them in every f*ckin game and the way they present themselves is directly taken from all aspects that Tolkien already described (love nature, beautiful, longlived/immortal, pointy ears, respectful, cool emotionalwise, looking down on mortals, few in number, melancholic....) I dont want to insult you, but be aware of this :)...you will see, the kaldorei are much closer to the sad sailing elves then you would have thought. *Tolkien nerdgasm end*
Captain Cirion you forgot one about tolkien elves ...before tolkien elves are like...fairys nowdays Sorry for bad english it's 6 o'cloak and my brain is not allredy awaken
Who else came here after playing Legion? 0:00 After questing in Val'sharah, every time I hear this song, I cannot but will always remember. *Ysera* - May your spirit rest in peace at Elune's side.
The best thing in the world, the most peaceful thing ever. Would be a group of roleplayers getting together, sitting in a circle in the mountain and dusk and singing the beginning part of this song. Would be an amazing thing to watch and listen to
FearTheGamah actually, as ardent a supporter I am of Night Elves, Trolls are one of the oldest natural species on azeroth and most likely local too. Most others are descendants of titan constructs with the curse of flesh or aliens from other worlds. there are hints that the night elves are an exiled troll empire who found the well of eternity and were transformed and blessed by Elune, but theres nothing TRULY substantiating this.
tenjenk thx, I actually do not know so much about them, I liked playing them in warcraft III but If I know something good about history of warcraft is blood elfes, those I love, but night elfes.... not so much
They shouldn't adapt anymore of the first war. It's not the best example of storytelling in the Warcraft universe. If they want Warcraft movies to become a success, they need to jump further ahead.
Oh Christ... this takes me back to Reign of Chaos. "These women fight with unmatched savagery! I've never seen their equal. They are... perfect warriors." Just the respect Grom had for them made me shiver from the epicness that was the elven Sentinels.
Sometimes you hear a music , and you like it , and it just chills you . Even that you dont understand what does words mean . This is one of those music's.
Claire de Danann In my opinion the best and only good races in the Alliance are Night elves and Draeneî . But i prefer Draenei :D Also take my advice if you wanna play Alliance Choose Elf or Draenei :D
I started off as a teenager as a nightelf hunter, finished off in Classic and in retail as a nightelf hunter. I've played other races and classes, and I always come back to my beloved nightelves!
I feel sorry for fans of the Night Elves. Of all the WoW races, their lore got shat on the most :P At least the Dwarves were almost blatantly ignored by the writers so they got away easy, heh
Yuin The Mistweaver You mean like Warcraft 1 and 2, or Reign of Chaos? When the nelfs were first introduced in 3, they were pretty badass. Their lore jumped the shark in WoW.
SinerAthin The Night Elves weren't introduced or discovered yet in WarCraft 1 and 2, dude... Only in WarCraft 3... Though I have to agree with you on that matter, the lore is pretty much fucked up, in WoW, that is... And not just the night elves but the whole WarCraft story itself, in all races, places, everything... Though I'm not saying WoW is bad, it is kinda fun to play, but when it comes to the lore? Its just a Nevermind story... -_- WarCraft 1, 2 and 3 ARE STILL THE BEST WarCrafts, and always will be... And I'm still waiting for WarCraft 4...
Justine Dela Cruz Yeah, WOW has been the best MMO of the generation, though what happened to the lore... was unfortunate. Warcraft 4, you might as well start wishing for Santa Claus, cause the only way that's gonna happen was if they retcon all the lore since W:TFT xD ... :(
Sorry but i don't see how cataclysm can be memories? Yes, it's a pretty good soundtrack that represent the night elves but i don't see the memories in it :)
uygar başkaya If we go 1,5 years back in time we are in cataclysm. And if you read my comment correctly i said it was a soundtrack from cataclysm and that can't be memories :)
wowgaming9 That music was played in ashenvale, in vanilla too. So not all of this soundtrack is from Cata. And cataclysm can be "memories" for someone too :)
I feel like this song encompasses the Night Elf race so well. The song starts off very beautiful, but sad at the same time showing how powerful of a race the night elves were but went through series of terrible events and tragedies. But at 1:17, the song picks up showing how the Night Elves have lost so much, but continue to fight on. What an amazing piece of music. WoW is a good game
Next expansion: Eye of Azshara.... PLEASE! Give us Zin'Azshari, N'zoth, the emerald dream and a prelude to an epic burning legion invasion. All those things are related - it would be a godly expansion come on!
If this expansion is released would it it go into the lore on how the ancient elves (that would soon become modern blood elves) were exiled? I want to see an expansion where the elf races work together a bit, at least moderately. Night Elves and Blood Elves working together and releasing some tensions I think would be cool to see. Idk if that goes with the lore but still I wish they would go into more what happened in Wow with them and see the elf races work together.
Not too sure about Zin'Azshari, N'zoth because I have no fucking clue what it is (not much of a lore guy, sadly) But fuck yes. We want The Emerald dream. The blueprints of that place look awesome.
subtector Zin'Azshari was the capital city of the elves prior to the sundering, it was the largest city on Azeroth. It would be amazing. And N'zoth is arguably the most dangerous entity that currently resides on azeroth
I remember when I first heard this song in Ashenvale. I was leveling my worgen warrior. I stopped playing dropped mouse and just stood there and listened to the music and got absolutely blown away. Yet at the same time energized. When I came back to my senses I just charged into some orcs and started smashing them all over the place. I will never forget that experience.
If you were expecting to see them first movie then you must not know much about the lore... you're lucky if they're gonna show night elves in the third movie. Their first appearance is during Third War
I won't lie, I play a Tauren and even though I am Horde, I have to admit the Night Elf players have in my opinion one of the best songs in the game, and easily my personal favorite song in the gaming world.
***** I did play Vanilla from the start, I can go on about all the 40 man raids I did and the hardships of getting 40 people together for raid nights. My guild did pretty well in Vanilla till Naxx where we failed miserably. For raids you could only be a specific spec in Vanilla, it wasn't your choice on what you wanted to play as, it was based on what the raid needed. In BC they fixed it a little where you could be different specs and still do a good job. The best of Vanilla and TBC was the community before Blizz implemented cross servers for dungeons and raids. I loved getting groups for UBRS when it was 15 man by just asking in general chat and getting a bunch of responses.
Even though I really like going around as blood elf a lot and i look forward for the horde (Vol'jin president mon), I REALLY love night elfes as lore, music and tell you what, Illidan is my favourite guy, then Malfurion and then Kael'thas
Hah! I've been cruising around Azeroth since I first started. Had tons of screen shots on old comp. You reminded me now. I should take one day off soon, and sort them all out. Now I'm nostalgic for old Kalimdor. :)
Even though Cata as an expansion was "meh", the soundtrack contains some of the most memorable music they've made yet. 1:20 instantly takes me back to Hyjal.
i've always played horde.. but when i first heard this in the forests of azeroth.. this piece of music goes beyond emotion.. i can't fucking keep myself from crying.. you can hear their enitre history and way of life in these 8 minutes. The voices are.. just serene man.. there's no way i can even begin putting the words i want to say together to describe this.. it's a magnificent representation of their bond with nature, one worthy of respect. A friend of mine has this enormous oak tree on his land.. it's growing alone. It's one of the most beautiful and mighty trees i've ever seen in my life. I can't help but think about that tree when i hear this.. especially at the beginning when they sing Nordrassil.. can you imagine.. what the sight of something like that would be like.. how it must look like that someone makes music like this to honour it so. It's absolutely beautiful.
This music makes me feel sad about how most people will know Warcraft universe from a movie... I know it's not out yet, but even will high hopes... I don't think it can be anything as epic as the games were.
