All these years later and i never get bored of hearing the music in Okami especially this.

I try not to cry whenever I hear this game’s soundtrack but I just burst into tears like a baby every single time. Beautiful game with a beautiful soundtrack.

Fun fact : Nagi is based off of a god in the japanese mythology, called Izanagi. Izanagi and Izanami were the first gods to arrise from an earth that, at the time, existed out of only water. by steering his spear in the water, Izanagi pulled up mud, and so created the very first island. Despite Izanami and Izanagi being siblings, they married, and through the most random of tasks, such as washing themselves, other gods arrised. When izanami gave birth to a fire god she burned to death, and desperate to get his wife back, Izanagi traveled to the underworld. Izanami told Izanagi she would ask the underworld gods, but Izanagi couldnt look while she was doing it. Izanagi left, returning a few hours later, only to find the rotting corpse of Izanami. Izanagi was scared to death and ran as fast as he could back out of the underworld, blocking the entrance with a huge boulder. Izanami screamed ''IF YOU LEAVE ME HERE I WILL KILL A THOUSAND PEOPLE A DAY'', and Izanagi replies ''If you do that, i will make sure a thousand and five hundred people are born a day.''

Same. I haven't even completed the game, but I go to this place at least once a week. Simply breathtaking with the music and beautiful night sky.

This music plus the surroundings are the reason I go back to the River of the Heavens from time to time. Beautiful.

I'm currently playing this game for the first time since I was a kid, and holy shit that very specific, haunting type of nostalgia as soon as I entered this area........ Wow.

I picture myself running through the woods as a wolf with this playing love it one of my favorite okami pieces.

Every time I go back here all I do is fill in more of the river of the heavens, like I had nothing else to do

Can anyone identify that chorded drone instrument that swells in the mix here and there? Not the Koto, shakuhachi, percussion, or normal woodwinds. It had internal dynamics, either bowed or a wind instrument...

I just find it so impressive that this game is so fantastic that it’s even able to rival most Legend of Zelda games.
