This is where the common folk live. The rich people live over at the Aristocratic quarter. Copyrights to Okami belong to former Clover, ReadyatDawn Studios (for Wii port), and ultimately Capcom.
Denpa Dolt i thought i had to draw something that i had actually seen one of the imps wearing in order to convince them i was one of them...so i just drew two straight horizontal lines...what a wasted opportunity in hindsight now that i know i could’ve drawn anything
I just love how lively and happy this theme is. It made restoring the city so satisfying. Sei-an City is one of my favorite places to simply roam, and all the side quests there were fun to complete.
I put the Triforce in the Ammy's mask, and when i walked on the city, y was really surprised 'cause i saw the triforce everywhere! I was like "oh Easter eggs!!!" And then... i remembered the mask that i made at the Moon Cave :v
Yerman A. Gonzalez Velasco i drew the triforce too, and i was surprised of seeing the sacred triangle everywhere, i thought that okami was connected to Zelda in some way, than i remembered the same... What a coincidence!
I just love how rich and diverse this track is! Not only does it give the vibe of a bustling city community but also the vibrant characters that dwell within it. You can practically hear the characters come to life in the instruments.
There was some girl who wanted ferrying to the Weapons Dealer and the shop was only about a minute walk behind her. WTF?! Surely it would be quicker walking there than going by lily pad.
Ahh, 5 months since I avidly played okami. Taking a break from it now, the music is excellent to study to. I gotta say, this city caused me much greif, and happiness overall. I mean.. I was tortured doing the old mans sidequest, finally having to look up a walkthrough from my stubbornness of I would think 3 straight days trying to find that LAST damn tree in the city. **Softly** and it was on his head, **Change of tone** THE WHOLE DAMN TIME?!! GAH!! And the kanji... oh dear God, drawing the kanji with the little girl was so damn difficult.. I saw it 10 times running here and back, but I didn't figure out the second line for the symbol, you don't do from the top.. rather from the bottom line. **Grumbles** Still however, the music is one of my overall favorite in the game. You have to love that second half. And messing around with people being a holy "Ferry"? Come on.. you gotta love that. Oh hah, the apprentice carpenter's exchanges with the senior as well... Ahh, good times.
Man, this song makes me feel so much better after listening to the cursed version of Sei-an City. This song has so much character in it. 2:49 onward is my favorite part. It sounds so much more fleshed out.
They should have put a band into Okami/Okamiden and they should have played and danced to this song! And did anyone else notice that the commoners in Sei-an city are more happy than those in the Aristocaric quarters of the city!?
I had so much fun with the kimono thingy until she requested the heaven kanji. I gave up after a few tries; then I redrew the silly face I drew originally on the mask and left to North Ryoshima Coast.
This is one of my favorite songs. I found myself really enjoying this music as I was just getting things accomplished in the city. :) This made it all the more enjoyable.
Yes. I had a dream once where they were doing some sort of weird can can-like dance to this song. I was disappointed when i replayed the game some years later and they werent dancing to this lol
@ElementCats The first time I saw that I was like, " Are those WANTED posters on the walls of this city?" I though I was being either idolized or feared.
Okami and Okamiden are awesome games... Except they both have a MAJOR FLAW!!! THEY END!!!!! But honestly.... Okami has the best replay value of any game I've ever played! I LOVE OKAMI!!!! ^_^
@ElementCats I put the word F*CK on my mask, and i nearly pissed myself laughing at the little girl writing it all over town. LOL. I kinda had to stay out of the city when my mom was in the room. :3
It's so sad man, this game is absolutely the best I have ever played, the best of my entire life, BUT most of the music didn't stick to my head at all... either because it was one of the pieces you just hear once or very rarely throughout the game or, I don't know, maybe it's because that japanese music I don't receive as "catchy" as.. well, "european" Music.. I guess you know what I mean. HOWEVER, this theme... well, spending what felt like 20 hours of gaming only in this city made me love it so much. :D And when I heard the variated version of it in Okamiden I was SO happy... These 2 games dude, the absolute best, I hope there will be another sequel one day... PLEASE
+I_am_not_a_sandwich - I don't think will be a sequel because the Kamiya's group (Clover Studio) moved from Capcom to Sega, that's why Bayonetta is so close to DMC.
I just love it when the flute goes into two parts at 2:25! And I can't tell if the string part with the low section is a string bass, cello, or some other instrument. Can someone clarify on that part, because I'm trying to arrange this song.
It sounds like it's mostly cello, but there could be a tad bit of string bass in it as well... I used to play string bass and I'm guessing that the higher range of string bass can reach into part of a cello's range too but generally it sounds very deep like a tuba, and the bass here sounds a little higher to me. I think either a string bass or cello could play that range but most likely its a cello (kinda sounds like it).. they use more cello in orchestras anyway.. but that's just my guess ^^
@darlun0 Well, there WAS that nice guy in the Aristocratic Quater who liked doggies, and the little girl... But you're right, everybody else there was mean and stuck-up. X.x
