Coldplay and Jin co-wrote the song together. And the whole band of coldplay participating in playing instruments ( i've heard that coldplay usually don't play for others , i think they did it for seokjin because of the respect and sincere relationship between two bands , bts and coldplay also collab for the song "My Universe" ) and chris martin also take part in background vocal , so he just sang the Wohhh part. The process of becoming this song is really wholesome , it's totally based on love , seokjin's love for ARMY , the love between the two bands . It's really a good song , both musically and in emotional way.
There is a version of video with Chris Martin talking about the song before Jin appeared for this performance. Chris said Jin called him 6 months earlier and asked if Chris has any song for him as a farewell to ARMY since he is going away. And this collab is the result. Jin is the biggest Coldplay fanboy. He has said in many interviews years ago that Coldplay is his favourite band and he listen to Coldplay music the most. The first Coldplay X BTS collab "My Universe" happened because of Jin. Chris even gifted his guitar to Jin. The guitar appeared in The Astronaut's mv.
Jin is leaving for his mandatory military service in Korea and will be away for almost two years. This song and the live performance was a parting gift for fans, and it was so special cause we could see him do it with his favorite artist Coldplay, he's been their fan even before debut and now he performed with them on the same stage. This was such a bitter-sweet moment for Jin. He got to perform on stage in a stadium with ColdPlay and see the fans, but this is the only performance of Astronaut he will get to do before his military service. This was his last performance, probably for the next two years. So, dream come true but also saying good bye to the life he's lived for more than 10 years.
Jin is used to singing in Stadiums and The definition of a Stadium happens to be must be able to hold 40-80,000. They've done all the major Stadiums in the world. I was at the Wembley one which was 60,000.
Jin was getting a bit emotional during the performance, maybe that's why he had falters in his voice. This was his very last performance before going into his mandatory military service for almost 2 yrs. (He is currently in the Korean army now.) He co-wrote this song with Coldplay as his song for ARMY (the fandom) before he went to service, so yes he was a bit emotional in this. This was a very emotional performance for Jin and ARMY, it was special and meaningful. Jin was saying goodbye to ARMY before he went into the military. Jin's performance, and Coldplay's facilitating of this moment for him at one of their concerts, is iconic. BTW, Mattie, Jin's voice "wobbled" because as he said, he was very emotional seeing ARMY's crying faces and he was holding back the tears. Another point: You commented on outfits. Jin is dressed as the character from his music video "The Astronaut." Go watch it, it's very good. (PS: every BTS concert has fireworks.)

Actually this stadium in Buenos Aires is about 72000 capacity; whereas like when BTS at end-2021 sold out 4 nights at the 100k+ capacity Los Angeles SOFI stadium in less than two hours, BTS always has their stages set up where there's a second stage in the center with a very long runway to the main stage.

I recommend that you also listen to the intro by Chris just before Jin came on - it explains not only the origin of the song but also the journey of Chris Martin from his previous attitudes to other people's music, through Coldplay's collab with BTS and how Coldplay made this song with Jin. I love how this song showcased Jin's beautiful vocals and also love seeing the mutual respect and fondness between Jin and Chris. Even their outfits seem to reinforce the "big brother/little brother" vibe! So touching to see how warmly the predominantly Coldplay fans welcomed Jin!
This is Jins farwell song to Armys, saying he loves us and is going to miss us, he enlist in the Army next week, and the other member i think enlist next year so in 2025 the come back as a group again

Coldplay had worked with BTS previously with 'My universe' If you bring out the other video of Astronaut of this concert you'll get Chris talking about all this as his introduction before Jin appears on stage.
With minimal rehearsal time, Jin was uncertain as to which part they were going to at the end, and he had to listen to Chris, rather than the in-ear to guide him. But no-one there cared. Jin had travelled from Korea to Argentina JUST to sing that one song for his fans before he enlisted. He returned to civilian life July 2024, and within HOURS he was holding a 'hugging' meeting .....hugging his way though 1000 'Armys', and the same day held a gathering which was part chat, part singing, and all fun for the fans gathered (and shown online). It goes to show how dedicated Jin is to the fans. Extraordinary!
Jin is used that crowds that big. Check out their concerts, wembley, rose bowl, sofi stadium, Seoul Olympic stadium. This was his last performance before leaving for 18 month mandatory military service. He is saying goodbye to Army (the fandom, not the military) Coldplay set aside tickets for sale to Army before the announcement of Jin as guest. This performance was very emotional for Jin, he choked up at the end, not a falter, if you look close, you can see the teary eyes. Check out the intro from Chris before this performance. Jin and BTS are very engaged with Army, we grew together with them since the early days. I recommend the intro to BTS by Taylor, it’s the best well rounded intro to the 7 members. A good general group intro is this is BTS by XCeleste. You will understand how dedicated and protective Army is over the guys. PS it’s not all screaming “girls” , that term is offensive, belittling and stereotypical. if you want to do BTS reactions you need to do research and respect the fans. Army is all genders and ages (young and older) and ethnic backgrounds. His stage outfit is from his video where he is an alien to earth, trying to fit in, the clothes are earthling like but the fit is slightly awkward because he’s an alien.

Cool stadium, yes... you should watch out BTS conserts from Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas or SoFi stadium in Los Angeles. BTS is one of those few rare artists in whole world (and only from kpop) who can sold out gigantic stadiums. And this live is really emotional, he flew 40 hours to Argentina just for this one song, last live perform before military. Sorry my english and greetings from the edge of Europe

Sadly, you did not react to the version with the highly emotional introduction of Jin by Chris Martin. I cry every time I hear him talk about the relationship he has with Jin and BTS. You should watch that version yourself. This is a Coldplay song gifted to Jin and the lyrics were reworked by Jin and Chris. Chris and his son Moses sang the background vocals on the official MV. Chris also did a cameo appearance as the newscaster in the MV. If you haven't already, you should react to the live performance of Junk Kook (BTS main vocalist) and Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi at the opening of the World Cup in Qatar. There is also a MV but I personally love the live.
Coldplay and BTS how to collab a couple of years ago called My Universe. It's too bad you did not watch Chris's introduction to this performance just prior to Jin coming on. A lot of that would have been explained. Jin contacted Chris and asked him to collab with him on a song that would tell ARMY how he felt about them and as a farewell for the time being as he heads off to the Korean military for a couple of years. Coldplay wrote the music and some of the lyrics and Jin wrote the lyrics that are in Korean.

I get Cold Play has been around forever and not everyone's cup of tea, but if selling services to people who want to sing like or work for major artists might want to brush up. Chris and Cold Play never dressed up. They are from that Era of performers. Liked the approach of a pure critique. Solely on performance w/o the fake gobsmacked some do for clicks. All the members love singing live and it if often said that they sound even better than the studio version! The all have fabulous voices. Chris always "dresses" in tee shirts. Coldplay is known as one of the top stadium bands for many years. When they went to sing together at the end they did not forget...it was that the sound of the microphone was way too low. Things always happen with live performances no matter how much they practice.
