Music Producer Reacts to KZ Tandingan The Hurts You Never Knew 

Wah, my eyes are burning. *flashing back to being addicted to KZ's journey on the show* It's a combination of 3 mandarin songs, one of which she heard in passing, fell in love with the melody and learned it's meaning, (she's big on heart aching songs,) and practiced with the help of her team, they reconstructed the songs to form one story, she speaks no mandarin but most mandarin reactors say she got the pronunciations correct. The meaning of the song, as far as I know, was about a woman who is still in love with a past lover, never having gotten over him and not wanting to stop loving him, the sudden message she received from him opened up wounds that never fully healed, a sadness he never knew that stayed within her. On the finale, where KZ was speaking in hushed tones, his message was revealed to the audience, a congratulations for her on her wedding day (probably arranged marriage), and so she runs and hides in her car, sobbing in secret, praying he doesn't show up at the ceremony, asking for nothing else because loving him is still worth it despite the pain (the consequence that doesn't allow them to be together) and carries the burden alone because as far as he knows they separated on good ends and is over her. KZ, if I remember correctly, scored lower this time because it was during or somewhere near Chinese new year and crying was bad luck, and KZ just made them cry bucketful.

As to the Chinese Native, 98% of her pronounciation is correct. Imagine how talented and dedicated she is to learn the language in 24 hrs or so. #PinoyPride #ProudFilipino

Every pilipino singer have a honorary titles and her title is the "soul Supreme" because you feel it even in live.

The amount of dedication you have to have to learn to sing a foreign language even though you dont know the dialect is really beyond amazing. She is an artist. Even my chinese friends thought she was singing in her mother tounge.

This was performed back 2018. That year was my first time to visit China and you know what I’m so proud of being a filipino because of KZ. Every Chinese I met are saying they really love KZ. Chinese people asked me where I came from so I told them that I’m originally from The Philippines and they started to smile and asked me If I heard about KZ. Chinese people loved her.

Hi Philip. This is a medley of 2 or 3 songs I guess. Right when she arrived in China and as she was heading to the actual place where the competition was held, she heard this song over the radio in the car. It immediately clicked on her and fell in love with it. KZ doesn't know how to speak Mandarin and she only had 2 weeks to learn and perfect the song. The original singer is Joker Xue. The song is a story of a failed relationship. Here's an english translation of the song by Katrina Chua: "What else do you want me to do? What to do? KZ studied Mandarin a week before the competition and she try to understand the meaning of the song, and that was the result of her dedication.

First time i watched this it made me cry.. not knowing what the song was about. She sang this in live in a get together with her fans and she made some changes like going lower on some notes it sounded immaculate.. shes an amazing singer....

Watching while doing my homeworks

When Kz was in China for the competition, she heard these songs and she really liked them so she decided to try to learn it for the upcoming week, with the help of her chinese crew who helped her with the lyrics, enunciation and coreect pronunciation. They translated it to english and she translated the song to filipino and then bisaya her native dialect to really get the feels. These are 2 songs she made into a medley like number

Your analysis’ always bring out details in a performance one can easily miss...if you rewind Singer 2018 episode 6, about 2 minutes before this performance, there’s an interesting backstory about this song and what it took for KZ to prepare for it. Also, search “Hurts you never knew...ENG” ....I definitely recommend you listen to KZ singing with the English translation..guaranteed to make you tear up. All of KZs performances are full of surprises and captivating, but this might be my favorite due to how difficult it was for her to learn Mandarin, plus 3 new songs (yes this was a medley of 3 famous Chinese songs) in under 2 weeks!
