I agree! The song was powerful even though I don’t understand Mandarin. What’s better, is that Mandarin isn’t her native language (she speaks 3 languages), but she studied for 2 weeks to learn the song. There were comments about her enunciation, and she ranked 6th that week(she forgot a line I think?). But for me her interpretation was most evident when you could see the Chinese audience singing along, and several people were crying 😢. If they hear her heart, then she succeeded. Awesome reaction. This performance from KZ just shows how versatile she is, I heard she spent 2 weeks to learn Mandarin and that she translated the lyrics to Tagalog and Bisaya so she can understand it. "Tagalog" is the national language of the Philippines and "Bisaya" is the language KZ uses in their province. 😀 #CrazyForKZ

And what surprised me most is every video reactions of other Tubers I watched of the same KZ's performance, I am still in tears....from all of those video reactions!!!!! Ok I've been searching and watched almost anyone that reacted to this performance by KZ and I think you guys are just one of the best reactors that I have seen so far. Its amazing how both of you started off as being cocky but as soon as kz starts singing both of you just sat in silence and really listened and got captivated by her hearfelt performance. i think the reason why they (the people who titled the original video) said it's in Mandarin Chinese (which sounded like it's redundant because as you guys said, if it's Chinese then you don't expect it to be in English) is because Mandarin is not the only Chinese language/dialect spoken in China. i mean, there are hundreds of other Chinese dialects besides Mandarin and they were prob just emphasizing that. i'm not even Chinese nor do i speak any of their dialects; i just know this from our world history lessons in high school, lol.
Gracious Love its because KT does not speak Chinese at all and she managed to learn the lyrics in very limited time. She sounds like 90% Chinese to me and I even did google search to make sure she’s not...

From what I know, chinese songs in Mandarin is also correct and not entirely redundant because it could be in Cantonese. Correct me if I'm wrong. anyone? Btw, she only studied mandarin in 2 weeks focusing on its pronunciation and many commented that she almost seemed a native speaker in this number.
Did you guys even know that she don't speak chinese..she just learned how to say the words but of course she knows the meaning. you should check out her rolling in the deep and "say something" (watch it in the end too if you're recording a lot of stuff, because it's another sad song).

I myself don't have any idea of what what she's singing about, i didn't understand any of its lyrics, but the emotions, the sadness, the dept, the connection to the viewers was so deep and so strong. Music don't need no language for you to be able to understand, but by heart, you will definitely in awe of the songs. And this one here is a solid proof of evidence. You guys were one of the testament of it by being speechless and emotions gets you along the way.
