Hé was the headliner in 1982 at Werchter festival. It was my first festival , it was cold but he warmend up the entire pasture. Will never forget it . Hé was great.❤️

Jackson Browne was and is the great bard of the generation that came of age during the 1960s and 70s, so it always helps in deciphering the meaning of his lyrics to understand the history of those times and what that generation of young people experienced. And, for those of us who were there and traveled roughly the same road that Jackson did, he was/is our great lyrical historian, both in personal ways and collectively. Also, he has kept the faith politically as an artist over the years, remaining humble and dedicated to the values of the peace and environmental movements that he and the rest of us came of age with. I'd like to highly, recommend specific songs of his that demonstrate what I'm talking about: Before the Deluge, For A Dancer, and Lives in the Balance. His catalog is vast and filled with impressive and meaningful work, but those three have long been among my very favorite Jackson Browne masterpieces.. . . And, I might add that I am not generally inclined toward celebrity worship or gushy nonsense, but Jackson is the real deal!

David Lindley (guy on Lap Steel) passed March 3, 2023..Great talent...The guy behind the drum kit, Jim Gordon, was one of the most sort after drummers of all time...He played on over 500 recordings from just about everyone. Unfortunately, Gordon was diagnosed schizophrenic, and heard voices all the time..These voices caused him to go to his mother's house, and when she answered the door he attacked her with a butcher's knife, and a hammer, and killed her..That was in 1983, and he died in prison March 13, 2023, just 10 days after Lindley passed..He was Clapton's drummer on the album Layla (and other assorted love songs) which was Derek and the Dominos only album.

Omigosh! That is the saddest thing. He was so talented. So sad he couldn't have been diagnosed before all the tragedy. Thank you for the information!

David Lindley was playing a lap steel guitar and yes, later he sang the falsetto part. The first part of the song, "The Load Out" was written by Jackson. The second half "Stay" was written by Maurice Williams and recorded by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. Rosemary Butler was the lovely lady with the amazing voice.

For those of us who have followed Jackson Browne since the 70s, this song is a real treat. Love this man’s voice and his dedication to his music. He is a fantastic singer, arranger, songwriter and musician. You might want to react to Running on Empty or Doctor My Eyes. Thank you for this. 👏👏

Jackson Browne is a genius! "Late for the Sky" is in my opinion one of the greatest albums ever.....a masterpiece! He is still making wonderful music!

The guy who sang falsetto on “Stay” was a surprise to everyone’s. Including Jackson Browne. The woman was supposed to sing it twice, but the singer and guitar player decided to surprise Jackson. He said he was terrified when he saw him step up. bud he did such a good job they put him oon the album and j see pt that as part of their show

This is an old song. The original was probably out in the early to mid 60s. Love the falsetto.

Stay was recorded in 1960 by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. Jackson Browne adapted some of the words.

Lovely reaction video of a master of songwriting..., BUT..., please edit out the annoing metal music under your voice in the beginning and the end of this video....that irritated the crap out of me...
