this was hilarious, the way you were so overwhelmed with everything going on in the song, in the video, in the dance. it really felt like you were catching your breath the whole time. very fitting for a skz tt definitely. and they did call the song thunderous. it was to be expected. fun review and breakdown, very informative, especially the times when you provided cultural context to the traditional korean elements of the song and mv. cool! wish we can see both handsome sausages soon!

I am sure others will recommend “Easy”, “Any”, and “All In”. There are also some real gems that do not have MVs. I love “The Tortoise and the Hare”, “SSICK”, and “Star Lost” in particular. Also recommend “Domino” and “Ta” which have dance practices but not MVs.

the changbin section where he incorporated pansori had a quintuplet rap bar too! very cool and rare in kpop.

Haters keep on saying changbin is offbeat when his rappings are intentionally unique but the haters cant handle it lmao

Fun fact, Stray Kids recently has performed this song in front of the president Moon Jae-In at the Korean Day ceremony in Dubai EXPO, and the makne of the grounp (I.N) said 비켜라 as usual, and the distance was so close!! 😂 Usually Stray Kids are super playful on stage with a lots of ad-libs, but at the ceremony they kept it very simple though.

The story teller likeness in Changbins 2nd rap was intentionally written to reflect that so you are right on the money in your analysis. The music was also incorporated in the same way. Adding In The Korean instruments and styl in the song was absolutely beautiful. They intentionally wrote it super “noisy”… even “louder” than Gods Menu as a clap back to haters who call their music noise or Construction music (which is why the construction scene is in Gods Menu). The Noisy/No Easy album is pretty much a clap back. You will love ur journey with Skz… their music is ridiculously good and soooo different from most KPop and even from their own music…. It’s all diverse. I’m a music major and their unique style, wide range of discography and self production is what drew me to them. The skill and talent of this group is so under appreciated! I love that you picked up on the individuality within Stray Kids, they don’t try and make the members identical in appearance or in position within the music. Especially between songs, the members switch vocal roles, leaning into the idea of “stray kids” the ones that don’t fit the mold, or that can do a bit of everything and so they don’t “fit” anywhere in particular. Thank you for better helping me understand the artistry behind their work and how to evaluate music going forward ❤️😊

Yes, they used the legit instruments (or digital versions thereof). The more often you listen to this, the more you catch how they shift from the mostly modern instrumentation with a hint of traditional at the beginning to being nearly all traditional instruments at the end. It's really cool to hear. Did you notice that they're not only 소리꾼, but specifically 도깨비 who came down to lead a revolution and take that title? Changbin's 판소리 moment is one of my favorite rap bits in any song ever. And I love that they included it even knowing that a bunch of ignorant western self-proclaimed experts would crawl out of the woodwork as usual to claim that he was off-beat. You're right about the general message of defying/mocking haters. Literally the first four songs on this album share versions of that theme. They're such a constant target for hate that laughing in the face of it has become an intrinsic theme to their music. It's interesting to hear that you didn't know the kind of music they're mostly known for. Because yeah, it's this: the big, loud, bombastic bangers. And they have a LOT, all of them fantastic; I know plenty of people will recommend the same group of titles to you, so I won't bother. That said, despite non-fans and casual fans associating SKZ with that type of music, they actually have an enormous discography (nearing 140 songs, factoring in alternative-language versions and SKZ-Record/SKZ-Player releases), and it's impressively varied. Bangers, bops, ballads, melancholia, mental-health songs in various genres, experimental, psytrance, just genres and styles all over the map (general fandom estimate is roughly 40 styles/genres in their discography). So while they'll come out swinging with God's Menu and Thunderous and Victory Song, they'll also have you bopping with Get Cool, dancing with Miroh, having a breakdown (while banging) with Hellevator and Voices, just having the breakdown with Secret Secret and Winter Falls and Ex, relating with Insomnia and Phobia, wilding with N/S and Rock, and so forth. Anyway, point is: don't lock your mind or expectations onto them having any one particular style or sound; it'll do both you and them a disservice. I don't know the breadth of your musical tastes yes, but depending on what your interests are and how wide you want to spread your net, any STAY wandering through here will gladly give you recommendations based on the styles/sounds you're open to listening to.

I recommend listening to their album Noeasy on your own time, a really diverse album with absolute bangers. There are 3 unit songs in it with one member of 3RACHA in each of them too. Also their older albums which have more rock sounds were so so good, they re-recorded some of them in their recent release SKZ2021. You might check that out as well. :)

try their title tracks, i recommend hellevator, miroh, levanter, all in, and side effects (or just check them all lol), they have mvs for bsides too! i recommend Easy, Blueprint, Domino (no mv but there is dance practice, SUPER DOPE), double knot, secret secret, red lights, and CHEESE. Their latest full album, NOEASY, is full of bangers, still listening to it in order months after its releases (fan favorite is 'Silent Cry'). What's amazing is how involved theyr in their music (read credits) so you know whatever songs they release, its THEM.

They have SUCH a diverse discography that it’s really hard to narrow it down to just a few songs. I really recommend checking out the full NOEASY album and SKZ2021. IMO NOEASY reflects their growth and sound the most while SKZ2021 gives you a really good glimpse of their older work.

Bang Chan likes watching reaction videos so as a producer, I’m sure he’ll enjoy this video 😂👌🏼 And yes, 3racha have been going for a “Ya we’re loud!” direction for their Title Tracks lately. They’re always being criticized for being “too loud” and, like the unbothered geniuses they are, they use all of that negativity and turn it into amazing music! I really do recommend listening to their whole NOEASY Album, it has a variety (and I mean VARIETY) of songs in there that you’ll enjoy listening to! But if you want to listen to songs one by one, I HIGHLY suggest listening to Domino next! As a musician, I think you’ll really like it! It’s in the same album and unfortunately there’s no MV, but I really do recommend listening to it and I am curious on how you would break it down 👍🏼

This was my reaction as well, when i first watched. So many things. The visuals, the choreography, the instruments, etc. I had to watch it dozens of times to see everything. I paused it at one point when Hyunjin is sitting the book he has opened for a millisecond, is a picture of Felix. So yea, everytime you watch, you see something new

I’m really excited to see you react to the insane range in the type of music they do. They have lots of hard core punk sounding songs but are also able to reel it back and do beautifully gentle and heart wrenching stuff as well. With over 32 genres under their belt (not to mention their individual side projects they’re almost constantly putting out) I’d really say they’re a group that can do just about anything. If you want to hear where they really cemented the start of their noise journey I recommend checking out Side Effects the first ever psytrance kpop song! The Tortoise and the Hare is a great bside for that too. If you want to start to look into their more gentle side check out Levanter! And although the season just passed you should check out the songs from their Christmas EveL album! There’s 3 different Christmas songs with totally different vibes and an English version of their song Domino which also goes crazy hard.

Some of their recent songs, I would recommend Winter Falls, Domino, Mixtape OH, Secret Secret. Ah, don’t forget ‘Back Door’ which was chosen as one of the Best songs of 2020 by TIME magazine. (Only K-pop song on the list.) If you have never listen to their first song ‘Hellevator’ (produced in 2017, pre-debut during survival show), you’ll get to see that they were good from the beginning. Similar song to ‘Hellevator’ from recent release is called ‘Scars’. MV is in Japanese, but they also have released the song in Korean as well. It’s a beautiful emotional song.

Honestly Stray Kids i the first Kpop group i stan because the are so different from the rest. Im glad i wasnt the only one who found it easier to learn their names and who is who because everyone in this group has a specific sound and look to them or at least a facial feature that is easy to recognize.

Highly recommends Domino, check it out! Domino does not have an mv though, sadly. :( Cheese and Silent cry are also really good.

i really recommend to check Cheese and Domino, newer songs that shows 3RACHA's vibes the best, i think. In terms of lyrics and creativity in music. They are such amazing lyricists and their ideas are often outside of the box, 3RACHA is just so cool. Beside that, SKZ have really various discography (because 3RACHA boys want to explore as much as they can and they don't want to pick one style) with very relatable, amazingly written lyrics full of wordplays (3racha being sincere, always), but even if music is various, you just know it's Stray Kids and that's what is amazing in them. Also, of you ever pick songs from Clé1: MIROH, I really recommend to listening to this album in order since it's concept album with story. :)
