Literally, still now, I'm not over this performance because it's absolutely STUNNING. I went on an Aurora binge after this video, and honestly, I feel like her live version of this song is better than the studio version. There's something so beautiful and delicate about this performance, and I literally listened to it on repeat after we reacted to this. Would love to see her live or something one day because her voice is absolutely CAPTIVATING, and her control is amazing. Billie Eilish and the also amazing French singer, Pomme, both asure they decided to become singers because of this very song; so Aurora is responsible for at least this two amazing singer/songwriters to step out.
Pls more Aurora. She is the most honest and kindest artist I know. I have seen many interviews and poscasts with her. She is incredible and something else in the best possible way. To the video itself. Aurora has backround singer. She doesn't like backtracks. Silja Sol mainly accompanies her, but the other two band members also sing along. Silja has been her backup vocalist for quite a while and she is amazing - however in this performance the backup singer is Selma Frida Stang - also a very talented singer. The other two voices are Magnus her drummer and Odd Martin on guitar.
She is literally an enchantress in the best possible way. Her voice is just so enchanting. It pulls you in and you can’t get out of it. It’s just absolutely amazing☺️

@@rx7dude2006 I totally agree. We can sit here and debate what makes Aurora so unique for the next quople of hours, lol. There are so many things. One thing I do love is that she never shows off. She never goes "look at me, see how good I am" Many artist do that. Take someone like Dimash for instans. He has that amazing high belt in his songs, but he does it all the time. I mean All. The. Frigging. Time. THAT, my friends, is just boring. Its like chewing on a piece of gum for to long. Aurora never does that.

Aurora said in a tv interview that the creativ process in making songs and having the control in the studio, to do what ever you want is liberating, but ones you perform the song live on stage it's out of your hands. You as an artist isn't important anymore. it's all about the song and she is just a tool, a vessel to the song. It comes to her from somewhere and goes through her out to us all. Sean, I love the statement you made about a performer owning the space they're in. It reminds me of the feeling I got the first time I saw Christine and the Queens live on the Graham Norton Show a few years back. It was different because it was choreographed, but the same thing applied. She owned the stage. I strongly recommend reactions to her highly energetic KEXP performance in Iceland (with Bjork in the audience), where she sings "Churchyard" and "All is Soft Inside”; as well as the Nidarosdomen Concert (in a cathedral with orchestral ensemble and choir), particularly the songs "It Happened Quiet," "Through the Eyes of a Child," "Little Boy in the Grass" and "Lucky." ; or the HAIK 2019 concert she held in a forest: "Infections of a Different Kind," "The Seed," “Daydreamer” and others; and most recently, the Bergen Philharmonic concert where she sings “Soulless Creatures” live for the first time!
My favourite live cover from her is Bob Dylan's "Make you feel my love" at the SOS Ole bull 2020. She really makes it her own and you can see that she feels every song she sings even if it's not her own. I also absolutely love Lucky live in Bergen 2020. Warrior from the Haik documentary. I don't think you can choose wrong honestly.

Do "Through the eyes of a child" live from Nidarostomen. That shows her true vocal ability in my opinion. She definitely does not have a limited range. I've listened to every song of hers now and her range is amazing.
Loved the reaction! You're in for a treat if you watch more of her live performances. She's probably the most emotive artist I've seen. Even her live covers are amazing, especially Life on Mars (at Nidarosdomen) and So Long Marianne (Chicago concert) which she sang in tribute of Leonard Cohen after learning he died earlier. Her own work is awesome too (Running with the Wolves - Pandora Sessions and Through the Eyes of a Child - at Nidarosdomen just to name a couple). You can't really go wrong with her.

nah i wouldnt say her range is limited. i feel like a lot of ppl will put singers in a box, like billie for example, they have the soft yet powerful tones but can go high or low if they so pleased
Love this! One person who knows her and one who is completely new :D If you want to do another live performance i love "Under the water" live at VEVO Halloween. Or if you want to do just any song, my favourite music video, and chronologically appropriate, Winter Bird is such a wonderful song. I guess if you want to listen to something more conventional, though the topic is not "The Seed" is a common go-to.

If you watch enough of her live, typically with three or less accompanists, you’ll see that she’s not doubling her own voice, but rather a cappella or not, one, two, or three of the accompanists are harmonizing with her. The drummer (forget his name) is her producer, be comes in way low under her, and the female (Silia) behind her (a guitarist in other performances) often comes in above her. In this one, I’m pretty sure the keyboardist is also harmonizing.

Being a bassist I know I can be a little nitpicking about these sort of things but Runaway is not 3/4 but 6/8. Some might say this is the same. I don't agree. However, loved this reaction. It makes me happy to watch people appreciate her music. :-)
it’s actually a 6/8 time signature. Nit picking, but this mistake is made a lot. The subdivision pacing of the Eighth notes are tripled not doubled, making it 6/8 instead of 3/4. It’s subtle. It’s a weird compound time technicality. You can hear the swing of the 6/8 really well in the bridge.
