Funny because while lion mane does have a purpouse aka protect his neck and throat the human beard serves no purpouse. Like seriously it is the most useless hair in our bodies. Every hair from genitals,chest,legs,arms,armpits and head serves a purpouse but only the facial hair are just for show or as a hijab to not arouse closeted muslims or non muslims.

I'll be honest brother I'm living in the UK and I am blessed to be living in a very active an thriving muslim community but even here you do get those people who say that, and I would do two things, bring it up it court as a matter of religious discrimination, they have no problem with the Sikh mans beard or the Jewish man. If that doesn't being the result you want(keeping your beard and your job) I would leave and inshaAllah Allah(swt) will provide for you.

In America an employer cannot legally discriminate against religions, race, sex, etc... if they do they can get in trouble. U could file a lawsuit actually.

As a matter of fact God condemns those orthodox Jewish, orthodox Christians and orthodox Muslims, the idol worshipers who insist that keeping beards is obligatory required in religion, thus He made them as despicable as apes, monkeys and pigs with beards. Never heard it before and I did study Islam in Syria between 2006-2011 but I'm not sure if it true because the ahadith are alot .

I only heard of an incident where the Sahaabah kiraam went to fight the samuri and the samuri came out all cute, beardless with their hair tied up . The Sahaabah asked do you not have any men to fight your battles?

Brother nice effort not many people would even care but it’s nice that you are trying to grow your beard. My tip for you is if you’ve advised her before and she still doesn’t allow it maybe get another family member or friend she respects to convince her the importance of growing it and the consequences of shaving it. You have to look more from her perspective because from her perspective she still sees you as the same little kid who didn’t know much and because of this she feels like it’s wrong for you to advise her. This is why it’s so hard to advise parents. Plus it’s not right to obey the parents when it means disobeying Allah. But still remain kind to her and work it out with her so eventually she will let you grow the beard inshallah

Now comming to your doubt the companion of prophet (may peace be upon him) ibn umar(R.A) used to cut his beard as much as you see the speaker in the vedio Now scholars have two opinions 1) Let it grow don't cut beard except mustaches. 2) cut as much as the speaker and of course shave the mustache Anything other than this is seen a mjor sin and may be punished / discouraged for the act.
